My growlog has recent pictures of 2 fenos of Mr.nices Black widow, im actually impressed with them
Is White Widow ir-relevant - or is there a breeder who makes it Relevant ?

Although I have grown and enjoyed MJP's SugarBerries F2 freebies (SugarBlossoms x BB), I've never had any interest in growing WW or her hybrids.

I thought mr. Nice has or had the original parents. I also reckon the clones that made the widow so famous was/were way more on the sweet indica side than most siblings were, seeing it should be more of a 60/40 sat/indi breed. I believe most of seedbanks offerings, like with skunk, are bred way more to the indica side for commercial purposes. And seeing how white widow is a true f1 indi/sat cross the f2s and etc crosses quality are heavily dependant on selection.
That being said i would rather buy honest f2 pollenchucks than strains that claim to be the original, unless if it were from mr. Nice maybe.
I have grown female seeds black widow and 1 of 2 plants had an amazing incensey church smell, within the range of that churchey sweet dutch haze smell but a lot drier, if that makes sense. Very sativaish appearance as well. Makes me wonder if they used actual f1 stock to make the s1 and why the hell I didnt order more seeds. The other plant had more of that typical sweet widow taste, good but nothing outstanding if you grew up smoking the elite widow clones..
Now I have a bunch of black widow x skunk lying around, aching to get popped, really curious as to what I'll find in those..

I guess one other breeding-type question is - if we knew the exact parentage of the original White Widow, could we re-create it ? Which strains would we use as the parents ?
Although it looks like you can get quality WW genetics for $10 to $13 a seed, feminized even if that's what you want.

Forget the WW and get you a good OG, you're original question was actually is white widow still relevant and my answer to that is no. Its an old school strain and compared to some modern elite strains it sucks. I know some ppl will give me ish for this but I'm telling you the truth. Sure you can still find some pretty frosty plants in WW beans but trich coverage doesn't always translate to high potency.

Good advice, except for the part of me that wants to spend the $40 on the Dinafem beans.
Green Crack comes to mind. She's not pure OG but she's good !

Most of the time, that would be a great metaphor.
I just got a quote on pumping out my septic tank.
If only I could turn what's in that tank into a bud of Female Seeds White Widow.
One thing's for sure, the RMS White Widow smells better.
