OK ICMAG family...I had this silly idea. We have ALL at some point purchased some beans with high hopes of getting that special ONE gal who does it for you. Right?? Tell us about the good and bad. Who has the great stuff versus the bad. I know...I know. Bad growers need not apply!! LOL. Seriously though.....what is the word on top choice most recommended seeds available at the moment??? No cut only stuff...seed only. I will start. I am an old timer so to speak. I have had soooo many strains in my body I can't even begin to tell ya. Within the last five to six years I got tired of the same old stinky skunk seed I have been growin. I started seeking out new flavors and highs. I will tell ya some of the good. BOG Sour Bubble ...nuff said!! Dutchgrown's Oger99 DAMN!!! I still have close friends asking for that one. Fortunately I did an open pollination!! I am really impressed with Bodhi. I have only grown 4 of his strains.Keepers galore!!.I have many more to get into. Hit it up guys and gals. Spread the word!!

Almost forgot. If any of you purchased Hazemans Elephant Stomper, you may want to get em going soon. I got 6 girls and 6 boys. Each girl was diff. All decent though. I swear I got the purple elephant pheno. also did an open pollination on a small scale. Only ended up with 1100 seeds.

Okay so here's what's been good and bad for me, we'll start with the bad first. First of I'm gonna start by saying they were only single fem seeds but recently I tried kosher kush chocolope kush and sour kush from DNA genetics and not one keeper. Cataract kush was OK, but again just one fem seed. Buddha Tahoe og from CC wasn't that great. Now with the keepers. All from sin city seeds, Dream N sour, Sin Mint cookies and Rappers delight are all awesome strains with the rappers delight being the most potent in my garden right now. Daybreaker from GGG also a keeper, very vigorous and good smell taste yield and potency. Just ordered goji og, blockhead bx, and jabbahs stash from bodhi and valley girl from archive so I think I got some more keepers comin

All seeds from barneys farm were pretty lame. Greenhouse seeds great white shark was a great producer but not top shelf. Soma sold me "feminized" seeds and they were all male plants so that wasnt too cool. Big buddha seeds, they are awesome. I ran through a lot of seeds but i have a buddhs cheese pheno that is just insane. Ive recently tested things for karma and those beans are pure gold. Redeyedgenetics and anything from karma will be worthwhile every time.

Yeah,I did some Barneys stuff awhile back. Vanilla Kush did not do it for me full pack. Found a nice LSD plant out of a pack but only good enough to run a couple rounds.

I've been having bad luck with MNS hazes. I've been going thru a few of them a few seeds at a time looking for the perfect haze but so far have found nothing but junk.

3/3 MNS NL5 x Haze were total junk, they all had a weak awful smell like dried pee, all 3 went into the trash heap.

Next 2/3 Nevilles Haze Mango's were total junk. The 1 decent plant I found has a nice high but could have been better, it still had kind of a weak pee like smell. I know there is better in this line as I have found better when I had grown them before. But I am unimpressed at the high volume of junk pheno's in MNS seeds. I've spent big money on MNS seeds over the years hopefully it pays off with something good eventually.

I hear ya on that one. I ran the strain Shit about 5 years ago. It lived up to it's name. Total poo!! I think I let the girls go to about 12-13 weeks and only got wispy hay like twigs. Disappointing to say the least.

Currently growing out some bodhis, too early to say but they all smell really strong like the appy and they're only 4weeks into veg from seed. Seen amazing potency and terpene production outta motarebel's gear.

I have been hearing and seeing good things about Cabin Fever genetics. A close friend has something called Forest Fire. That is some powerful smoke right there.

I am also growing out some of Bodhi's gear right now Goji and Fuzz. Plants are about 3 weeks into flower right now and I have been nothing but impressed. Great vigor, structure and odors from all of them. The ultimate test will be the quality of the smoke but his gear has outperformed the other strains Im growing right now.

I am growing out some Hazeman Elephant stomper. This is another one I have been very impressed with. They were not quite as vigorous as b's gear but were right behind them. Only had 2 plants one was a male and got the axe, he had purple on the stems. The female is green stems has a really nice stink, and just love the stretching and explosion she had to start flowering.

Again all of these are being grown currently true test will be the quality of the flowers they produce. I like vigor in my plants though and strong odors can be a good indicator of the stink to come. Will be growing more Bodhi and hazeman gear in the future.

I can vouch for BOG having solid gear at least in the past. Haven't grown any of his gear recently but have grown bogbubble and lifesaver back in the day and straight fire. Have had really good experiences with THSeeds in the past as well, SAGE is one my favorite plants I have grown, very stable.

One thing I have seemed to noticed with seed breeding trends in general recently strains seem to be less stable showing greater variation in phenos. Everything seems open for pheno hunting, which is great I love being able to search for that special mommy. Back in late 90's and early 2000's though the breeding trend was strains being more stable. Popping a pack and having a bunch of uniform plants with little variation. This was also great, breeder descriptions often matched what you would grow. I love both types of seeds I do love pheno hunting, but man its nice to get some gear every now and again and know exactly what you will get before you grow it. I wish there was more stabilization this day and age in breeding.

Even tho Bodhi used the fake wonkanobe chem 91 I have still seen some really nice plants come from the strains he made with the wonkanobe cut. I havent grown any of them but I seen some really nice pics of his clusterfunk.

I think it's because most seed co's are doing just straight 1x1 strain smashes or breeding polyhybrid x polyhybrid. The Dutch's day has kind of past but the Dutch are breeders by nature and many of their old strains were either true F1's or inbred to some extent. Today people just seem to pick 2 strains an smash them together, which can be good but also bad in the high instance of variability that type of breeding produces.

Nobody really inbreeds anything these days, which is a shame because there is a lot of good strains out there that could use some tightening up.

I don't mind getting a few pheno's but with MNS for example, what I have found when going thru his strains is an unacceptable amount of crap and a very rare instance of anything good. Which pisses me off because every junk plant eats up my space, time and resources. When they get tossed in the garbage heap it ends up costing me money.

Well said. I hate the time spent on shit genetics. Huge loss!!! That is why I started this thread....hope it stays alive.

Well said agree with everything.

nothing wrong with one off crosses or polys if tested some really good phenos to be found. Its nice when you can pop a pack and find a bunch of good plants. Having to pop a pack and possibly finding one ok female is a huge waste of everything you stated.

There is a time and place for everything and breeders right now I love that were not around 14 years ago. Lots of different ways to breed and they all have their own uses. Stablization and inbreeding are methods not used enough these days.

In terms of the wonkanobe cut all I can say at this point is that I have 3 different Fuzz phenos and they all have an excellent chemmy funk when rubbing a stem or leaf. The quality of the smoke will really tell the test, but so far so good I like what I'm seeing.

I got really lucky with reserva privada a few years back.., sour kush and og18. I've been popping packs and packs of other gear since, and I have yet to find anything quite as good..

always find multiple keepers when growing SinCity Seeds, which is why i have stuck with em (along with good friends). my friend purchased and popped full packs of a bunch of different strains from a few well known seed breeders, i.e DJ short's seeds, Mr. Nice seeds, SoHum Seeds, SinCity Seeds, NorStar Genetics, TGA... no keepers from DJ shorts and Mr Nice seeds, the only keepers ended up being males. SoHum, SCS, NorStar, and TGA all have keepers (atleast 1)

That sucks, I've grown both kosher and chocolope kush and both were amazing!
