I don't think anyone can just analyze the black boxes. Boeing or some special aviation investigation group has to do it as far as i know.

it is a real shame they gave the black boxes to British investigators, some international aviation investigation organization would have been much more trusted by the Russians. seems like a bad judgment call to let those investigate the black boxes who have already put all the blame on one party.

Why did the British get the black box? That black box now means nothing in real evidentiary terms. It's totally compromised.

the UK got the job of checking the "black box" because the airline that owned the plane, and the country of origin of the flight(the Netherlands) asked them to do it. so it is compromised because the folks with the money in the pot gave it to someone you do not like? LOL!

fair points, the one thing i would say is that yes would have been better to send the black boxes to some place like Switzerland, a totally neutral party. the EU, specially Britain has been backing Kiev just like the US have, so in my humble opinion they are what you'd call involved parties, or at the least they are parties with an interest in the outcome.

as far as i can see i said they should be sent to an international investigation organization, i didnt say they should send them to Russia to be fair. i was just saying that if i wanted my investigation to be as impartial as possible i would look for an impartial investigator. now the Russians will be able to cast doubt on the investigation if it turns out against them, that is all i was saying.

I would say that everyone has an interest in the outcome. except for the folks that pulled the trigger... whatever the truth of the matter is, the ones who shot it down will not want that to be known.

As an aside - As well as the previously mentioned Russian and US civilian airliner 'shoot-downs'; Ukraine has also paid compensation for the 2001 shooting down of Siberian Airlines Flight 1812...

Excluding Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, there have been 25 Airliner shootdown incidents since the 1940s - 15 of those since the 1980s. 12 of the 25 were shot down by the authorized military of a Sovereign state, 1 allegedly by NATO (Aerolinee Itavia Flight 870 in 1980) and the remaining 12 shot down by guerrilla organizations.

Of all 25 only the NATO incident involved individuals facing trial. Not the alleged perpetrators but those who sought to cover up the incident. They were not convicted.

Maybe you should make a thread about those things that concern you which, by the way we can't change either. It always puzzles me why people thread crap. If you aren't interested in the topic, why are you here, and why should those who apparently are interested in the topic be censored by you? Don't like? Don't look!
There are other topics that may or may not be more "important", depending on your outlook, but does that mean we should not discuss this topic, just because it doesn't interest you? Who should be the arbiter of what is or isn't important?

Government of Ukraine Collapses

Government of Ukraine Collapses

Today the Ukrainian government resigned. The prime minister Yatsenyuk, or “Yat” as
affectionately called by Victoria Nuland who put Yat into office, resigned along with the entire Cabinet. The parliament refused to vote the harsh conditions demanded by the IMF. I am not sure what this means. Perhaps it is just a tactic to force the parliament to do as the IMF says. Or perhaps Yat, Washington’s stooge, has realized that IMF or no IMF, Ukraine’s economy is imploding and wants to get out of the blame.

The point for now is that I checked the BBC, the New York Times, and CNN and there is not one word about the collapse of the government of Ukraine.

I did notice that the BBC, now a reliable element of Washington’s Ministry of Propaganda, reported, as if it were true, State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf’s claim that the Russian military is shelling Ukrainian forces. When Harf tried this out today on a roomful of journalists, they laughed her out of the room. Evidence, evidence! they demanded. Why, Harf was asked, do you think something is made true by you saying it!?

So, as usual, real news is missing from the Western press, but fake news is reported.

Professor Michael Chossudovsky has provided an account of the collapse of the Ukrainian government on Global Research. http://www.globalresearch.ca/collap...s-amidst-pressures-exerted-by-the-imf/5393168

do you even LOOK at other websites before you post? both ABC & the LA Times are reporting the collapse of the COALITION (which will require new elections) of the parties that formed the govt. so much for the West hiding the facts. geez...

RE-the govt collapsing. it is not uncommon in Europe for a govt coalition to break apart & force new elections. for example, Italy has had over 50 different coalition govts since Benito led them into WW2. Great Britain has had approximately 18, near as Wikipedia can tell; although they were all (but one) either Labor or the Conservative parties leading them. "collapsing" is but a term for calling for new elections in this scenario. be curious to see just how long it takes them to take place.

well, silly season is going full bore now! the latest from the conspiracy rubes claims that the Dutch & the Aussies are preparing to "intervene" in the Ukraine in order to prop up the regime that the far-right Western alliance set up. the Netherlands nor Australia have ever intervened in anything that I have read about. yeah, both fought against Adolphs 3rd Reich to help save the world from Nazi domination, but "foreign intervention" ? this is too rich, LOL!

Yes.

My contention isn't that they are hiding fact's but using speculation as fact's. They came to conclusions first about MH17 being shot down by Russian backed rebel's using social media, then started a investigation. As it turn's out there is no credible source for this assertion by our own admission. Its ass backward's , and agenda driven.

another Alex Jones disciple. I need say no more...

Yes.

The reason it can not be rebels is this: buk SAM is a serious war machine, HOW could stupid village men and rebels could land their hands on one??

I read reports that Ukrainians army are constantly drunk and trigger happy, yes. Could it really be them?

Ukraine Rebel Leader Admits Fighters Did Have BUK Missile

DONETSK, Ukraine, July 23 (Reuters) - A powerful Ukrainian rebel leader has confirmed that pro-Russian separatists had an anti-aircraft missile of the type Washington says was used to shoot down Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 and it could have originated in Russia.

In an interview with Reuters, Alexander Khodakovsky, commander of the Vostok Battalion, acknowledged for the first time since the airliner was brought down in eastern Ukraine on Thursday that the rebels did possess the BUK missile system and said it could have been sent back subsequently to remove proof of its presence.

Before the Malaysian plane was shot down, rebels had boasted of obtaining the BUK missiles, which can shoot down airliners at cruising height. But since the disaster the separatists' main group, the self-proclaimed People's Republic of Donetsk, has repeatedly denied ever having possessed such weapons.

Since the airliner crashed with the loss of all 298 on board, the most contentious issue has been who fired the missile that brought the jet down in an area where government forces are fighting pro-Russian rebels.

Khodakovsky accused the Kiev authorities for provoking what may have been the missile strike that destroyed the doomed airliner, saying Kiev had deliberately launched air strikes in the area, knowing the missiles were in place.

"I knew that a BUK came from Luhansk. At the time I was told that a BUK from Luhansk was coming under the flag of the LNR," he said, referring to the Luhansk People's Republic, the main rebel group operating in Luhansk, one of two rebel provinces along with Donetsk, the province where the crash took place.
