Before you worrie about smell. How many plants are you going to have or plan on having in flower at one time. It's super hard to find real reakers to flower out. Unless ur gifted one. My real stinkers I can't smell unless I'm next to them an disturbing them.

If you get a low odor strain you could prob get by with what you're talking about. With some of the more odorific strains you absolutely need a carbon filter. I sometimes need to double up on the filters or go oversized to handle the stink that comes out of my garden.

IMO Phresh are the best carbon filters available. I own 3 of the 4x12's you linked to. I use each to exhaust a 3x3' stall, exhausted into the rest of the room which is a lung room. The lung room also has a 6x24 Phresh with a Vortex which intakes from room and exhausts into 3x3's. With stalls closed I get no smell whatsoever. When I open the stalls up at certain stages the smell is quite strong.

The important thing is that when I open the door to enter my room, NO smell comes out.

If you pull enough air thru that filter [up to 200cfm] it'll do the job. Good luck. -granger

Calculate: http://www.phreshfilter.com/about/size-selector.aspx Get a fan that pulls less CFM than the filter's limit. No computer [axial] fans.

You attach the carbon filter you the intake of your output vent, it should be the same diameter.
A carbon filter is the most trusted way of air filtration I know after ionizers.
They last for about a year between carbon changes and always work when the vent works (unlike ionizers)

In any place I would use very proper smell filtration as even when cops are not as issue with cannabis smell weed thieves are, and not many police stations would go the extra mile to found who stole your weed.

A small piece of activated carbon filter is not expensive, PC fan is not expensive, you can buy a few.
And then put them together, and then pass on the electricity, the wind is discharged to the outside, and finally came to the courtyard, you wouldn't smell any odor.

Northern Lights is an excellent strain that is almost odorless.

This is a Panasonic Whisperquiet fan with large Presh filter. I realize it's too large for the space you are talking about, but they come in all sizes. This one is not even vented outside the room, yet there is no smell, even with dank strains.

Also, search "Panasonic", and you will come up with multiple threads, questions, and answers. These are the best fans for small spaces, even though the one in my picture is large. They make much smaller ones.
