Strain: Barney's Farm, Blue Mammoth Auto Flower

I am unsure of how long they have been growing.

The pictures are bad, I hope that you can make out something and help me, otherwise I will try take new ones-- my phone is really quite terrible :(

Can you help me out, when should I harvest, and when do you think I should start flushing, now??

On the 06-20 I posted this picture in this thread asking what stage the plants were in:

Thank you for all your help! I am a real beginner at this :) ! :dance013:

You have a good amount of time until the plants are ready. The hairs on the buds should change from white to orange. Also, the crystals go from clear to cloudy when the buds are maturing. If I had to guess, you have another 3-4 weeks. Good luck.

Should I repot still?

On my last post the general consensus was no, but two of the plants are in way too small pots.

I think you should not repot while in flowering. I'm not sure why but this is what I have learned by reading here.
Also the buds don't look finished yet, the best way to check is to get some sort of magnifier like 30x zoom or so and check the trichomes. They can be either transluscent, milky or amber. When most are milky and a few are amber is the time when most harvest I believe.
Hopefully somone more experienced can fill in or correct this.

I think your photos are blurry because your phone has focus on the backround instead of the buds.

You don't have to get up that close to take pictures on when to harvest, most of us can tell just by looking at the plant around what stage it's in.

Re potting a plant during flowering, a ruderalis plant at that, will not benefit the end product at all.

At this stage in life, and especially this far into flowering, the plant is focusing most of its energy on producing buds before it reaches the end of it's life cycle.

There are a few varieties that will continue rooting through flowering, but it is not common and only experienced growers who perform root ball autopsy on a regular basis will be able to confirm.

Remember, you need to let the plant die off by itself. You will get the best product when you let the plant mature naturally. Take a pic of the whole plant if you can, it would give us a better idea of where you are at.

Just be patient. Buy a playstation, take a hike, touch your girlfriend, do other drugs. Just don't cut the plant yet

Thanks for the advice :D

I am currently on holiday ;)

Will post some new pics when I get back and buy a magnifying glass!

Hey all back from holiday, here are the new pictures.

Getting a magnifying glass tomorrow, but what would you guys say, are at least the two small ones ready to go?

I don't really have much time left, I have to move out of this place so have to cut and dry ASAP within 2 weeks at least.

Again, thanks for all the advice ;)

Ok (sorry for all the multi-posts, I am not sure how to edit my old post):

I have a 20x Magnifying Glass which I payed way too much for but lets not talk about that--

Will that be enough?

I am about to go examine them :D

I checked out the trichomes with 20x and 60x, and while lots of them do appear cloudy, a lot also appear to be clear...

I will wait one more week ;)

Thanks.

Trichome color is really not that good of an indicator for ripeness. The overall look of the buds is - you want the pods to swell as if they bear seeds and the hairs to shrivel back into the pod.
Then you could check the trichome color for fine tuning.

Going by the trichome color I usually try to aim for 10% amber, 85% cloudy and 5% clear.
This is achieved usually by flushing once 95% of the trichomes are cloudy.

Never too late to repot if your rootbound, at least in my garden.
That said, those plants dont look like there big enough to be rootbound but then again I cant see what you can see! Ive pulled 4+ dry ounces of a Tahoe OG clone in a 3 gallon pot of FFOF! Yes thats my record!

After the 3rd week of flowering the plant barely grow roots.
If you transplant it after that period it might grow new roots which would reduce the energy spent on flowering.

To help rootbound plants you just need to water with fertilizers in a higher frequency as the medium can not hold enough nutrients long enough to keep the plant happy until the next watering.

Haha, thats just silly!

AssSling that is just silly! My experience is your plant will ecplode with more growth up potting in flower, and maybe delay the overall finish time.

Good luck I bet they smell good.

They smell amazing :D

If I still and time I would repot, but bare in mind that these are Autoflowering plants, so they do their thing and die (with regards to repotting).

I am relatively sure that the two smaller plants are root bound, because the large plant which I did repot earlier certainly grew a lot, and the small ones have been the same size for several weeks now.

My mistake, I should have repotted earlier, I kept waiting and waiting :(

I am going to cut them down next week due to a lack of time- Thank you all for your help!

I don't think it is funny, and it worked for quite some years.
I never transplant after the 3rd week and I never got rootbound plants after that stage that weren't rootbout before.

Cheers
