Deep Congo

Nice posts lean, yes the "Congo" cut is where those terpenes are prevalent ,
I have about 60 of the Congo bx1s x f1s I. The swamp this year.
I woulddt agree that the deep chunk walked all over the Congo except In structure, the high of the deep Congo is very similar to the "Congo"
It will be interesting to see how jack bs turn out

Despite if the lineage is a pure Congo or not Deep Congo is probably my favorite strain I've ever tried. I grew two females in the summer of '09 or '10 when it was available on the bou. I threw them in two shoty amended holes with very little care all summer. They trucked through it all and produced beautifully. The taste was my favorite thing about it. A flavor that I couldn't begin to describe, as good on the exhale as on the inhale and it seemed to coat my mouth with the taste and stick around for few minutes after the hit.
The high was pretty much as outstanding as the taste. At the time I was working 12 shifts at night with a break every three hours. I would take 3 or 4 rips during break and by the time I realized I was coming down and ready to re up my high it be about 15 or 20 minutes until next break.
Sorry for the long winded post but I was just thinking about this strain a week ago. RW I was wondering if these would ever be available again? KoK

[/FONT]Here are a pair Deep Congo sisters from my Congo leaning F3 line. Since my F2 are getting old and I'm out of F3s its time to run the F2s again. I'm going to drop another 50 seeds to find parents for a new F3 line. I know what I'm looking for this time...
I loved the purple F4s that I've run , so it gives me hope that I'll be able to get what I want from this new run. Cleaned the room last night and gathered materials for a soil run today. Deep Congo is way better in soil(much more complex aromas) than coco for me.
Only other plants in the room this run will be Ghana from CBG

Good job lean, those Def look like Congo leaning selections with the bud structure
It will be fun to see how my bx1s x f1s flesh out in the swamp

Looks like they are really enjoying the sun Richard.

I planted the F2s a few days ago. I'm going to kill any males that lean hard toward the Deep Chunk and let the rest hit all of the females. If I have the time, I'll also do specific pollination's with selected individuals.

Nothing has sprouted so far with the F2s... I sprouted a few last run, but I don't remember what my germination rates were like. Gonna plant some Dcong F2 x Bangi Haze as insurance. Thought about dropping some F4s, but I don't want to get my seeds back out of the freezer, sigh. I've got Kodiak Gold x Dcong F1 sitting out at the moment too, not very interested in running them though. Seems like an ideal outdoor cross.

After typing all that (a long process for me) out, Dcong F2 x Bangi Haze & Dcong F3 x (Green Haze x Panama) might be a good grow. Both crosses use the super frosty hash plant types I find in the Dcong. The ones that lack the turpine type I'm after, but still throw Congolese types in there offspring. The Dcong x GHP did at least.

Tried a different method with a few more F2 seeds that were on my tray and I got heads up after only 2 days. That just lifted a huge load off of my shoulders. I was really worried that the F2s had gotten old.
Also planted F4s from those runts I posted about 10 pages ago. Seeds were still laying out on a plate for all this time, lol.

Looking at the tray of F4 seedlings, I can already see a difference in the leaf widths. All the widest leafed plants will be killed in the seedling stage. The rest will be judged further down the line ;)

The few F2s that came up won't have any selective pressure placed on them yet. Looking back at my old pics of previous F2 grows has made me want to look for different things than I wanted to look for a few weeks ago.

I also was able to reveg 2 of the F3s from last grow. Pumped about that!

^^^ THAT is the beauty of making your own seed and knowing what you want out of a line.

Death to those that don't fit the ideal...without regret. :respect:

Indeed Frank.
All of my F3 and F4 grows have been done with the intention of going back to the F2s and re-selecting using what I've learned. Not quite ready to do another mass F2 grow, but I'm getting there. This grow, Ill be able to make crosses between the F2,f3 and F4 generations.

Lean - I still got my DCon F2's from you - think it's like 15-25 of them...can't remember exactly.

Once you figure it out - be sure to keep me informed on what you have decided is the right direction to go, and I'll be sure to sort for those specific things... :respect:

I'm loving the looks of the plants Richard! Should be interesting to watch the leaves get skinnier as the plants mature. The leaves kinda remind me of the first Deep Congo I flowered. The pics are still in my old gallery and in this thread, if I remember correctly.

Frank, During my large F2 grow,50 plants, I made two pollination's. A Deep Chunk 'ish Female and a Deep Chunk'ish male. Did the same thing towards the Congo side. The plant pictured above was from the Congo F3s. I made very few F3s and she was the only plant I saw like her. She was special. In many ways and produced the most sativa like buds I've seen during my Dcong adventures.Powerful smell and effect to boot.
I used her as the mother of my Purple F4s, used a male from each F3 lines as pollen donors. Also used a green F3 female and the same F3 males to make the Green F4s. I'll try to find pics of the Green F3 mother and the parents of the F3s.
