I've tried just soaking in bleach water but I've never thought to turn on the pump while cleaning. after a while they get this slime that grows on them. I would like to avoid them completely if I can which is nice since it's one less thing to clean and replace. I was going to use a mesh filter bag to hold my amendments and another one around the pump so bits don't break it. I was just going to stick an air hose down into the bag with a small T so there are two bubbles coming out and they're a bit smaller.

I've hand watered them with tea twice and then they've gotten water, yucca and fulvic. which I mix up in a watering can. they're going to need a feeding tomorrow morning so I'm making this brewer. I only brew tea in the brewer then fill my watering can and everything gets cleaned afterwards. I thought I might get the watering wand that Spaceman Spliff was talking about earlier. I could then hook it up to the pump in the brewer with a long hose and then a garden hose attachment to screw on the watering wand. the venturi attachment to my water pump would then oxygenate the water as it travels up the wand giving the plant the most oxygenated water as possible. the DO2 rates fall rapidly when you take it out of the brewer surprisingly and I want as much O2 getting to the roots. that is why coco coir has such great growth rates and with this peat mix, the compaction rates are greater which leads to less O2 at the roots. this is one way I thought of besides adding the extra perlite a couple days ago to ensure I get good drainage and not have compacted soil beds.

Hehe by water wand I mean... Tubing and a ball valve zip tied to a bamboo. :-D I usually make everything, because I'm cheap.

longer video showing how my brewer works and grow room!

Made a longer video which shows my compost brewer running and how I designed it. I also show off one of my rooms too! They'll be getting a feeding soon as the lights will turn on in about three hours. feeling pretty accomplished but I am not quite satisfied with the design I made. does anyone have any suggestions??

ive never been to comfortable with clear containers for res , algae doesn't hurt plants but sure is ugly to look at lol. also how do you plan on covering so dust and debris don't finf their way into the water.

I know clear is really bad for algae growth but there were differing opinion about opaque/clear containers and dark ones. I didn't plan on covering it. is it really that bad if a little dust gets in there? I'm only brewing for 8 hours or so to make a more bacterial tea. that water pump filter bag will also draw all debris to the sides of the bag which in my experience, makes it cling to the bag when you take it out of the water.

If its not ran continusly you should be ok ...the dust contains organic umaterial that nay change the oh of things as they degrade.plus I hate hair and shit floating im my res thats why u cover them. And considering the temp of the brew. Added heat from the pump and from the light if its in the tent

Why yes I am Spliffy but not for simple stuff like that. Nice brewer, looks like you will have all kinds of DO2. Why the bleach water with the alfalfa and worm poo?

I just rested the bag on the wire coat hangers so it wasn't in the water for the video lol

Sea-crop.com it's ocean water with the sodium chloride removed. 90 something trace minerals in great proportions, humid and fulvic, phyto plankton and lots of other stuff. I have a book on that somewhere you can borrow too if I can find it.

so I've been reading about cover crops and mulching to reduce humidity when watering and the cover crop keeps the microbiology amped up. there are certain ones that can also absorb atmospheric nitrogen and make it into a usable source as it expels it out it's roots for other plants to use. you can pick your cover crop by which element it releases into the ground. I'm using chamomile and yarrow. German chamomile releases extra Ca, P, K and yarrow NPK and Cu. Yarrow is also very medicinal and has many of the same benefits as CBD. you can use it in your BHO oils and tinctures. it also has been planted in herb gardens for a long time because people found that it increased the essential oils of their herbs like basil and mint. then after the flowers die back because chamomile is an annual, you can till in into the ground like a green mulch and cover with mulch for the bloom period.

Interesting... YarrHO . Wonder what that would taste like. Would be cool to get that into the lab and test it. I did clover as a cover crop in pots once it was cool but a place for pests to reside and hide.

it smells like a herbal tea. I got some from my aunt today at her BBQ. I just planted it in the soil I'm cooking and I also transplanted the clones. I placed them in the bed but I kept them in their smart pots so their roots are going to have to work a little to get into the soil which buys me some time to cook still while planting the yarrow. I have some tincture from a dispensary that uses medicinal herbs, including yarrow. the herbs gave a good taste with the mmj. there was some lavender, skull cap and some other ones.

DD,

if its Sea Crop from AEA, http://www.growbetterfood.com/about-aea/join-us/, then ive seen Backyardfarmer mention it in Tom Hill's forum. i bet he could help answer questions about it.

EDIT: it was in the 'growin large tree' thread

thanks for the advice Morcheeba! but it is the product that spaceman spliff is talking about. its supposed to send your brix levels soaring. I really like the chamomile because its tiny little daisy type flowers and both yarrow and chamomile can be made into a tea so it's a win win! I really love clover with the red flowers but now that spaceman spliff said that, I may have to reconsider. I might still try it though cuz how fucking beautiful wouid your pot plants look in a sea of flowers.
