New grower, need a hand

Sup guys, I've recently gotten my script and found out I can do 5 plants legally on personal, so I figured I'd go hydro as soil isn't really an option. I'm on a budget, but I have mostly everything I need. I still need a cheap fan for a room with 5 5gal DWC buckets, probably gonna grow W.W. and some MOB or a nice sativa dom. Now I seen a 90watt LED UFO growlight on hydroshop for 159.99, but I don't know if it'll cover my area, so I may need a 1000watt HID, (thinking of a switchable ballast if that's the case, then it won't be as bad for price). I don't need it yet as I still need some seeds, hydroton and nutes on top of the fan, (a friend's giving me the w.w., and I'm looking for a nice sativa dom. strin atm, could use some advice on one too, lmao). I plan on building a grow room to fit that operation with some MDF, 2X2''s and flat white paint for now. I havn't started setting it up yet, but I should be starting it all in a month-2 months max. Now for the nutrients I was thinking Jack's Classic Citrus feED (20-10-20) and Jack's Classic Blossom booster (10-30-20), but I'm not convinced if I can use the Blossom Booster in hydroponics so I figured I'd ask if anybody has any experience. I already know how to check the pH so that isn't a problem for me, but I have no TDS meter atm, so I was wondering if it was necessary. I'm using a 60 gal aquarium water pump with 2 outlets right now, and I have my T5, but I need to know what would be best for primary lighting. I'm also going to need a hand with measuring my nutes at first, I know I'ma **** up a bit, but I do everything else through trial and error. Now for my room I was thinking a 4x6 to properly hold everything, including my drying rack and a small closet built inside to store my pot, (I'm a paranoid S.O.B. and have been robbed before, plus I have a habit of putting down my pot somewhere and losing it, I've lost an ounce 7-8 times in the past few days). Now for the drying rack I was thinking of using some 2x2"s and mosquito netting at a 2'x2'x5' rack a shelf every 6 inches, starting at the 1' mark, essentially 4 racks, now that I was thinking if I can save the money, over time I could box it in with a mat on the floor covered in salt to fight humidity, and ventilating it from my air intake, now would that be possible, and could I box it in right away?

You could search for Jack's Classic to see if anyone has used those products and posted results. Might be able to get mixing strength suggestions that way too.

I'm not sure it makes sense to build a space for your drying rack next to the room, or worse yet, inside the room. You want a cool and dark space for the drying rack.

Also 4'x4' might be small for a 1k hps. 4'x6' might be ok, but 5'x5' or 6'x6' would be better. You could use a 600w hps in a 4'x4'. Your T5 and LED UFO would get drowned out by either a 600 or 1000 watt hps.

Aight thanks man, ya I asked a buddy of mine and he recomended Jack's Classic, so I'll probably go with that, and for the drying room I prbably should've mentioned I'm a bit space limited, just a small 2 bedroom trailer, but I can find another spot to put it. If those would drown out my LED, then I'll just get a 600watt MH/HPS ballast, no point in blowing that kind of cash for something I'd end up just giving away lol. The room's 8' high, so for a 4x4x8 what size fan would I need, just going to run my intake through the floor with a mesh screen over the duct, and I can easily vent it out my dryer duct for a decent airflow. Sorry for all the questions lol, I just like diving into foreign waters with an idea of what to prepare for.

You may want to use an air conditioner or evaporative cooler for intake. Would be less necessary if you used LEDs.

You might be able to exhaust through a dryer vent, but you'd probably need duct boosters to keep air moving.

6" inline fan should be fine. You'll want to pull air out through an enclosed reflector/hood and push it through exhaust ducting.

Lights

2 @ 315w CMH or I am using a SPYDR 600, which has up to a 3 x 3 foot print (just harvested- see my thread)

Nutes

Bloom Boosters are BS

You can't do better than Hydroponic- Research V+B, which was formulated for mj

Hydro

You would need 3-4 air stones per bucket. I would use a table and top feed (again see my thread)

Heres a new growers thread. I'd take a look at all the basics. https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=268474.
As for DWC, in my opinion you cant really go wrong. For DWC quite a few people use/have good results with the Lucas formula (which is right in one of the basic threads), although that'd require buying GH nutes. Take a look at some of "Snype"'s posts. He has some really detailed and beginner friendly threads.

P.S. and most importantly. Dont' plan on growing without a TDS meter. You'll need to use the meter to determine if you're feeding your ladies properly. Get a good tds meter. You can get a Blue Labs on amazon for $68.

AND

When buying stuff always check amazon, ebay, and the local shop for everything. You'd be surprised when you see what you can save.

I have a good eye for nutrition problems, I used to help my old man when he grew, I understad the basics and remember what he showed me for soil, for now I can't afford one but I'm still looking, I think I may just go with a secret jardin darkstreet 90, the 2x2x5, been thinking it over if I grow 5 I'll have idiots from before finally remembering where I live if I always have a large supply lol, plus I'd end up smoking it too quick lol, any ideas how many 4 gals I can put in that, planning on a W.W. and some blue dream so if I can have 1 of each going at the same time I'd be fine, and I tried my airstone, it worked with 1 to a 5gal, but it's huge lol. By the way, if Trudeau wins anybody know what the growing and hash laws will be? Thinking of buying a bubblenow if he fully legalizes it and putting out 50 or so lol, I would now if I could but I'm trying to cut back lol, going through 2-5 ounces a month depending on the strength lol, it's f***ing ridiculous lmfao.

Oh pet, btw lol, I said I was on a budgt, I'd love to get a spydr after looking it up, but I can't afford 1000$ for a light lmfao. I think I'll just get my the UFO and jardin, at least then I can work up from there and start an op, it's going to cost me 100$ for a 2x2x5 room with paint and all so it's easier to get something more effective for the same price

Aight man lol, thanks I'll look into it, I'm still looking now so if I see some I'll look into it, a friend of mine may give me a 400watt MH/HPS ballast so I'd only have to buy bulbs, just gotta go help him renovate his place when my hours at work start easing up, but the damn boats are hauling enough to hire a new crew at the plant lol, I've been working 12 hour shifts for the past 3 weeks lol. Been coming on here on my breaks and before going to bed just to catch up on advice lol. Thank god sI'll soon have my vacation hours lol

Make sure you know the law inside and out. In some states you can have say 5 plants but only two flowering and three in veg. You always want to stay compliant. Also if you rent it would be in your best interest to find out if your landlord will allow it because they can evict you for growing. Cover yourself my friend.

You don't need $1000 light for a 4x4 and the 2x2 idea is too small IMHO. Spending too big or too small can get ya. Shopping for a deal is not. Plenty of ideas on many threads on here. Your questions have been answered a bunch of times before. Make sure you buy a good ballast if electronic because some of the cheaper ones give off EMF that can screw with electronic and neighbors and cable companies hate that but is lighter weight wise. You can use a regular ballast and put the ballast outside the tent. Heavy weight wise. The adjustable ones are cool. Might get a 1000 watt adjustable ballast and a 600 watt bulb for it. Later you have more light if you need it for a $100 bulb. Much bulb brand info on here also. Two fans are needed, one to cool the enclosed hood for the light - sucks air in from the outside and blows it out to the outside - of the tent. Another small fan to blow up through the leaves for air circulation. Fan speed controls are a nice investment. They can save electricity in the long run. Some fans cannot be run on them. Clean water is required. A PPM or EC meter is required. A PH meter is required. Beware of cheap meters. You can check the water with the PPM meter. One plant can fill a 4x4 tent. Nutes usually start at a small ppm and move towards a half dose. Some people work them up to 1200 or more with certain strains but I see no advantage for it. 800 is usually enough. It appears that nute companies want you to use more so they sell more... remember No Tell, No Smell and No Sell..if you want to keep it. I heard for every 1 person you show it to or tell about it - 64 end up knowing...some fans suck so see customer reviews before you buy. Amazon usually has those. Filters - they need to be good ones. Phresh seems to be a good brand on the cheaper end. Again - see reviews. This is an expensive hobby to get into. My friends in Colorado have educated me on this since I do not grow or smoke so take my advice with a grain of salt dude. They use Advanced Nutrients and start at 1/4 the recommended dose. Nute doses are on top of the water PPM. If the water is 800 PPM and you want 1000 PPM add 200 of nutes. RO water is a good idea. Tap water need to be run through an RO filter or at least bubbled for a few hours. Time of finishing is from the time you turn the light to 12/12. So you veg them, put them in the tent and then start counting. Some need to go longer. A good hand held microscope is cool. The 420 ones work well. Brand of tent is not a big concern as long as it has enough vents the right size - 6" and has a good zipper. Cannot leak light from the outside either unless you want hermed out pot and likely some seeds. Seeds suck energy form the THC production. Some humidity is cool. My friends in Colorado have educated me on this since I do not grow or smoke anymore, take my advice with a grain of salt dude. They use Advanced Nutrients and start at 1/4 the recommended dose. Good Luck!

Thanks man, but I'm in Canada with a licensed script, I'm applying for a dispensers permit as soon as I find out the right route on that. Oh, I decided to go organic and use my 5gal to aerate my tea, I talked to snype a bit and am just gonna go for a few 2' plants, I only need to grow a pound a crop at the most, sorry been busy with Arthur's f***ing mess, is it possible to shoot down an air stream?

As has already been said... 600w MH/HPS in an air-cooled hood, inside a 4x4 tent, exhausted by a ~400cfm centrifugal. If your ambient temperatures are higher than 74-75 degrees F, you will have a bit of an uphill struggle without incorporating air conditioning. Otherwise, this setup will do you a world of good.
