Questions on alcohol tincture

I was thinking about mixing cannabis, water, and everclear. I would then boil the mixture and ice distill the water out. The benefit being the mixture can't catch fire. This is just a thought though any constructive criticism would be appreciated, also is it possible to evaporate the tincture into shatter?

If you want a high quality tincture from everclear, it's best to go with a cold extraction. Freeze the bud, freeze the everclear 190, and then mix them for 2 minutes. Strain out the buds, and you have your tincture. You can evaporate off some of the alcohol to make it stronger, or all of the alcohol if you want a high quality smokeable oil. I haven't made shatter from an ethanol extraction, but I've seen other people do it.

I´ve done this several different ways and they all work pretty well. I usually decarb first then add the 96% ethanol and let it sit for a day or two then I reduce whats left over a double boiler in a well ventilated room and strain of the weed. My last batch was one of my best, 1ml gives a buzz, 2ml is a stone (started from 60gr high quality bud and 700ml ethanol reduced to 200ml).

How many drops in a ml? Our current batch we need 3-10 drops, 10 is like eating a big hash cookie, 3 is more like smoking a bowl.
edit: I should mention ours is 40% 190 proof abv, and 59% glycerin, then 1% water. (steep hill labs claim a tiny bit of water improves the extraction)

I make them this strong too. I extract hash oil with 99% isopropanol, purge, then dissolve in Everclear 190. You can adjust the hash oil / alcohol ratio to whatever you want. 1 drop of some of my tinctures is too strong for some low tolerance friends I've met.

Hash oil / ethanol solutions are stable at any concentration. No separation when you let it sit for a while.

I don´t think it´s necessary to first make hash but using hash will give you a cleaner product ie no chlorofyll etc. Basic alchohol extraction is good, I tried ISO but didn´t like the results so I use ethanol (lately 80% Russian Vodka ).

How many drops to a ml? 15 maybe? 2ml is pretty much what I can do max but then I´m a zombie.

Not that I have noticed, I shake the hell out of each before each dose just in case. But this is probably not needed.

mixed 2 grams winterized bho and 3 1/2 grams of unwinterized bho dissolved into .8 oz of 190 proof everclear , oh and i decarbed in a oil bath at 250f first , just tookhalf a dropper in a little sunkist soda didnt really taste it ill let everyone know my results

It looks like you figured it out already, but you can mix hash oil and ethanol in any ratio. You don't need much Everclear to make a concentrated tincture.

How well it works for pain is more about the strain than the recipe. If vaping your BHO helps with pain, a tincture with that BHO (decarbed) will work just as well with longer lasting effects.

dont know if i fully decarbed ,heres what i did oil bath 250f may have went a little higher but dont think the bho reached anywhere near that watched it carefully till small bubbles subsided didnt really time it though its been working well may bump it to 10grams bho 1/2 oz everclear 1/2oz vg and maybe add some cinnamon flavoring thinkthis would be ok?

Sounds like an interesting recipe. I haven't tried mixing vg with ethanol tinctures yet. Let us know how it turns out.
