I never got it and I like music that many people hate lol. What are these guys doing except for slowing it down 1/2 way? (which I'm not knocking btw, just curious).

i think i get it, they'll slow it down here and there, stutter it, slice and dice it, stop it for 1/4 beat, throw a phaser/flanger/chorus/reverb/super quick delay on it for 1/2 a bar here and there

makes me think of early 90's jungle/drum n bass techniques

everything old is new is old and new again!

Hi Duplicate, just the usual experienced dj messing with almost everything they can on the tables

Hi smokefrogg pretty much yea.. slowed and repeated then more of the remix type stuff done aswell

All chopped and screwed doesnt sound good but your can basically chop and screw anything, its the DJs job to make it sound interesting. These arent mine but I did it to alotta other genres and they all sound better to me... its just how I like my music. thx texas rip dj screw(died from drinking to much syrup).

Thanks smokefrogg, I'll have to have a closer listen. I'm not familiar with the original content so it's harder to tell.

If you like electronic music you may like "moombahton". lol here's the wiki on it, kind of reminds me of how C&S may have started:
Moombahton (pronounced /ˌmoom-ba-ton/) is a genre of electronic dance music that was created by American dj/producer Dave Nada [1] (aka Dave Villegas) at a high school homecoming "skipping party" for his younger cousin in Washington, D.C., in the fall of 2009.[2] The specific event that stimulated NADA's development of the Moombahton genre was his slowing the Afrojack remix of the Silvio Ecomo & DJ Chuckie song "Moombah" to 108 beats per minute. Because that tempo nears that of the reggaeton, Nada created the neologism "Moombahton" by combining the title of the track "Moombah" and the "ton" ending of the word "reggaeton" and applied it to the genre.
Between autumn of 2009 and March, 2010, Nada perfected his vision of the new genre in the recording studio utilizing intuitions and insights garnered from the "skipping party" experience to create a five track EP of newly-minted Moombahton tracks that was released in March 2010 with the promotional assistance and support of DJ Ayres and DJ Tittsworth at T & A Records [3]

hey duplicate, i checked out several moombahton tracks, man i just can't do it, different strokes for different folks right?

the dutch house i was never a big fan of, funny as i do like old la hard house once in awhile which heavily influenced the dutch house, i like some nrg nu nrg etc., i don't like the dutch house much and i don't like this fidget house offshoot that's all the rage either...then comes the reggaeton beat, i'm not trying to be a dick hater or whatever, but even just the kick drum and snare alone of a reggaeton beat really turns me off, i can't stand any of the reggaeton i have heard and man i have been subjected to a ton back when it was more popular and i worked in downtown los angeles

re electronic - i got into rave stuff in 91~92ish, i love amen breakbeats with house style beats layered over them, all the deep synth pads and acid tb 303 sounds etc., goa trance, deep house funky house filter house and of course ACID house, that's what i'm feelin' and brainwashed for haha

sorry to go way off topic from chopped and screwed style music, i guess to bring it back, i'd way rather listen to hours of chopped and screwed hip hop tracks over just 1 track of moombahton or it's cousin reggaeton, hip hop beats > reggaeton beats imho

hahah hell ya! Thanks for even checking it out.
then comes the reggaeton beat, i'm not trying to be a dick hater or whatever...
I hear ya. I don't even really like reggeaton. It's just when you put the electronic element to it I dig it. Even then, It's like candy to me. So so sweet in the beginning but it doesn't have the staying power. I know it, and it's OK. They're just summer jams that I'm burning on repeat right now. Most music I grow to love I don't even like at first.

Mmmmm, delicious with the exception of the goa. Goa/tribal has always sounded too thin to me. Very technical just not my thing. Had to sneak this in.

I've since checked out some more screwed and chopped and I just can't see it. I think I needs me some sizzzzzuuurrp! :D Thanks for sharing though Archangel. Sometimes it's hard to judge a style of music by the most popular tracks. The ones you posted sound much better than the ones I'd previously heard.
