That's what you think. JBomber knows what he's talking about. Don't ever listen to the weather bitches when it comes to last and first frost. Last frost the past 2 years has been weeks later than they predicted and 1month+ early in the fall. Good luck!
One friend has been growing in this area for over 5 years and another almost 10. I think I'm getting some good input regarding weather and varietals that work well.

4 plants will be nothing to cover if I need to.

Thx for the heads up though!

Jhhnn, seeing you talk about CO has been the most instrumental factor in my decision to move there, I think. Of all the things I've read about the cannabis laws there and how they have or have not affected life in the state, it's your posts I've learned the most from. The way I see it, I don't need a "medical scene." I just need to be free to grow my own medicine and I'll medicate myself, as I've always done. I just don't want to raise my kids in an environment where I'm always afraid I'll get caught and go to jail.

weren't they trying to pass a bill saying if you grew or kept personal amounts that it was endangering a child's safety or some b.s?

Timberline gardens in Arvada takes the cake for quality organic local nurseries. Paulino....lol

Wife is into garden perennials, fortunately they don't have to be organic to look pretty :)

How are prices at Timberline? Always figured they were probably higher than Paulino.

There was some hurf-burf going on there, but it's tough to overrule the state constitution & the legislature can't change it.

Some of it is still up in the air, but it will be difficult for authorities to move against parents who comply with A64. That doesn't mean they won't try, or that I'd want to be a test case.

http://www.ladybud.com/2014/01/07/how-will-colorados-marijuana-legalization-laws-affect-families/

One of the more interesting things about having a microscope up our ass over legalization is the breadth & depth of documentation going on. At some point or another, authorities will have to base policy on evidence rather than belief. They'll need to document when, how & how many times children have actually been harmed by a personal marijuana grow or suffered neglect at the hands of marijuana using parents to create policy infringing on the rights enumerated in A64. Colorado pot activists are way tuned in to it all, as well.

I don't think the evidence will support claims of neglect or endangerment unless you're blasting in the house, growing outside of a locked enclosed space, leaving edibles out, starting a fire- you know, stupid shit. Multi-substance users & abusers can complicate the issues, allow for mistakes & misrepresentations. Any guardian passed out drunk & stoned on the couch while the toddlers wander the neighborhood won't improve our image.

I also think that federal law will change over the next couple of years, as well. Our success will force that change with facts & figures about real life with legalization. We're replacing fear of the unknown with honest evidence. As I'm sure we all believe, that evidence won't be damning at all. Quite the contrary. Prohibitionists can't go on about what might happen when what does happen is well documented.

Every time I think about it, I smile. They're so fucked. The evidence being amassed about CO legalization will destroy any rationale for prohibition. It's already happening.

I'm lucky enough to have good friends who donate seeds or trade. I work at a sandwich shop and we trade for flowers 3x a week, hopefully seeds soon.

Sounds like I just need to buy the domain and through up a forum for us locals to trade /etc .

:yeahthats
the child endangerment bill died
what we gottta be on the look out for is NEXT session they will attempt to re-draft HB1284, the bill that originally outlined the regulatory scheme for MEDICAL in 2010. re-draft means changing the rules.... this is where the real attacks on medical are gonna happen

basically, imo the anti cannabis politicians have always wanted to discredit medical as a loophole for stoners (as if that is a valid reason for discrediting, which it isn't because cannnabis prohibition is at its root illegal & misguided)... these anti cannabis politii-fucks want to show that med numbers dwindle to nothing after rec gets going... best way to make med numbers slope off to next to nothing is to change all the rules so that medical is way over-regulated and not worth the effort/money/involuntary colonoscopy.

Also pics of some Carrot, Papaya, apricot, and squash fpes I concocted.

Very cool, MrTea.

Do you use mixed fruits and veggies for different FPEs or are they single plant? (had to do some reading just to find out what those were!) And do you add a dash of the vino for bacteria?

And when you say rich mulch do you mean some kind of mixture of similar f&v's as a top dressing of some sort?

LOL. I was just cracking on Paulino Gardens. My own fault for paying more, not theirs.

It's absolutely true that their selection is unbeatable and they are extremely knowledgeable. Prices are higher, but probably the best overall nursery in town.
Shop Paulino Gardens for a few oddball items you cannot seem to get at other places but they are expensive on certain things. They have good prices on lime, bulk alfalfa, kelp buckets and the worm castings are expensive but ultra high quality I bet. Local castings from colorado I have purchased there. They also have stuff like azamite, magneseiem (epsom salts) for super soil ingredients.

Usually make a trip or two a year. They have potential at that place if they changed a few things. Did see they had composting worms but in smaller sizes. Should sell them by the 1000's or pounds if they wanted to do real business. Nicks in Aurora is not bad for items.

BGS(Big grow supply) has pricing on coco and ffof, castings ect. It was crazy there this past saturday. Big event and made out like a champ. Certain items will never have to purchase again crazyness. If you were there you know what I mean. Dabs, girls, free drinks, vendors giving away the farm in samples. Water slides, 4 pigs roasted, bands and insanity until 12am.

I usually stick within Gil's boundaries for the fpe's. The dude knows more than most people out there.

I don't add "vino". However I will have some BIM I cultivated which I will put a dash in each fpe. Basically I puree the whole fruit or vegetable, seed and all. To this I add equal parts by weight organic sugar of some kind. I ferment it for 7-10 days and extract the juice. Once fermentation is complete I will then combine all of the separate jars for a powerhouse bloom fertilizer (or whatever fpe I am making). When mixing such small amounts of this in water I don't mind spraying it on my flowers 4+ weeks in.

My mulch consists of leaf clippings, alfalfa hay, barley straw, lavender, rose petals, and whatever else I find enjoyable to pluck from my garden and toss on the toplayer. As you can see, plants are healthy as can be when shown love through the natural farming method. These are very old Korean methods of farming so I like to think I am getting back to humanity's roots when growing this way. Very cheap and self sustainable method and not only that, but I've only been growing 4 years and can pump out dankness without having to try hard at all. It's so easy to produce fire with these methods.

Holy crap. Knew they had mixers on Thursdays with GoGo dancers. Sorry I missed this event. Sounds like a helluva party!

Thank you for the link to Gil's, had not bumped into that yet. Love your methods. Looking forward to trying some of these ideas.

Aww, man. You're supposed to tell us *before*, not *after*. Sheesh.

I jest. Well, kinda.

Grow Big Supply is radical. I'm not affiliated with them in any way. Cool building open 24/7 great prices. Friendly and helpful staff. These guys are gonna take over the grow store scene the way they do business. Every Thursday free cocktails and biannual summer/winter solstice bashes.

Thank you for the recommendations, Seaf0ur. Much appreciated.

Pic of the girls I'm getting dirty with this summer.

The two plants in the corners and front left are Grape Ox, 4 Corners Kush middle back and the green pot front right is an old sativa bag seed that has been kicking around a very long time.
