without Pearce's illegal & dangerous slide into 3rd the O's woulda sucked wind in the 8th. had he not pulled that stunt the Yanks would have had 2 outs & facing only a runner on 2nd base. yup the Yanks woulda still lost the game but not by the same score.
couldn't help but notice that you passed on mentioning that cheap play in your 8th inning synopsis.

After 2 games against the Orioles Tanaka is 0-1 with a 4.15 era. On April 9 the Orioles were up 3-0 in the beginning of the game. He left in the 7th with the score 3-3.
Schoop is 3 for 6 with 2 home runs. He is batting .500 with a slugging percentage of 1.500.

Hey Toronto lost too. That same night the Yankees had the ninth inning rally Toronto had an 8 run rally against Cincinnati. If not for those 2 freaking happenings the O's would be even in the loss column for first place.
And as an Oriole fan I say "WE Suck". The American League East is a joke right now.

actually the umpires determined it was illegal today when they took a run off the scoreboard and returned the runners to bases (2nd & 3rd) that they really didn't even earn Icky.......
again, no big deal, the Yankees were gonna lose this one regardless of that cheap stunt.

In our MLB app there's a game you can play called Beat the Streak, you pick one player a day you think will get a hit....I'm at 14 in a row!! Pretty stoked been playing all season and this is the farthest I've gotten, you can win cloths ,game tickets, money if you get far enough.

wtg either way, a day @ the ballpark is glorious, here in MN I'm 500 miles round trip; back in NY it was about 30 miles back n' forth to Yankee stadium, either planned or spur of the moment I went to 5-10 games per season.......

Red Sox still can't seem to get their act together, why is beyond me but it sucks for sure! Still not too far back that they couldn't overcome it if they got it together soon. Go Red Sox!
