Those hydrobuddy filters are alright, they use the same carbon as Can filters, but they wont last as long as the brands SB mentioned. Rhino and Mountain Air are great filters (I've used both).

EDIT
The hydro buddy ones are better than the "Budget" filters available at growshops. They do the job, but will need replacing sooner. I've used HB too!

As per SB and Harry, Carbon filters are not the area to skimp on. Rhino are what I use.

Just out of interest, those of you using Rhino's, how long are you finding them lasting effectively?

My last two had barely completed a run before I could detect a feint whiff.

Previous ones have lasted a couple of runs at least.

I am getting around the full 2 years by washing the white fibre filter every few grows when dirty. :tiphat:

Are you talking about the pro or hobby version?
What is your humidity like? Too much humidity reduces the effectiveness of carbon filters.

@Dank - I wash them after every run. I've even bought new ones.

@Harry - Pro version. Humidity where it should be.

It's only been the last two that have performed really poor. Prior to these, they've run fine for 12-18 mths.

These came from a well know store. I guess they could have been part of a faulty batch or maybe got damp in storage?

I hand washed it, but I bet they would be fine in a washing machine on a gentle cycle. Maybe add some fabric softner with a nice fragrance ;) lol
