Hey Snype, just ordered (50) of your washers from Northern Roots and my "Y" filter from irrigation direct. I'm in business. I'm building the 10 bucket system and will be housing it in a 8x4 tent. Question: Will I be able to fit 3x600watt lights in there, it sounds tight.I know that 2x1000watt would be most ideal but I already have the lights so Im stuck. My only alternative would be to use 2 hoods and 1 bare bulb hanging in between. Would be nice if all three hoods could work. Please, anyone with feedback feel free to reply. Thanks fam.

I'm happy that you are going to give it a try! I'd personally rather run them in a room instead of a tent but you gotta do what you gotta do. 600's are actually better for you because you aren't going to have the ceiling height to run 1,000's because of the tent. 3x600's will work just fine! Please be sure that you have a good way to cool the tent so that it doesn't get too hot in there. It be great if you can keep it below 80F. Your controller bucket isn't going to fit in the tent with the current design unless you make the in-line manifolds shorter. You could always keep the controller bucket outside of the tent and that would actually be more ideal. The current manifold in the back should work good as it is, so you shouldn't need to change that. I'd hang all 3 reflectors in the tent instead of the bare bulb. Please feel free to ask all the questions that you want because I want this to go smooth for you. I really hope you're going to try my VEG-A technique before you transfer the plants into RDWC. It's really important. Also make sure you use all cuts from the same MOM or you can run into other issues.

To get roots like that, you need to make sure your cloner is crazy sterile. Bleach doesn't work for everyone because some pathogens are resistant to Chlorine because they were able to build up a resistance from some city's and towns not using enough chlorine in the drinking water supply.

Once the cloner is sterile, all that I put in the cloner is:

10 Gallons Tap Water
20 mL General Hydro Flora Micro
30 mL General Hydro Flora Bloom
3 mL SuperThrive
7 drops of Clorox Bleach (Regular Unscented not Splash Guard).

You can check out my cloning threads for some of my techniques. Believe it or not but I get root nubs on my clones in just 3 days with my techniques. Here's one of them:

Interesting, ive always added a little veg nute not bloom nutes. Gonna give that a shot. Is it the phosphorous stim root growth? Ive heard that about p, just felt I would be safer with veg nutes. Thx for the tip, goes along with the things ive heard or read in the past.

Is bleach actually chlorine? Or just an added safety measure? Ill prob leave out the bleach, or do you think it contributes to your success?

Running hydro without chlorine is a mistake waiting to happen, especially in DWC / RDWC and Aeroponics. Commercial greenhouse growers use a residual level of 0.5 PPM Chlorine as a preventative measure. If you had a chlorine meter, you could actually watch the chlorine killing your bad stuff as the numbers on the meter go down faster than your known standard. The active ingredient in Bleach I believe is Sodium Hypochlorite. The secret ingredient in the formula is SuperThrive. It makes things go much faster. You can still get great roots with plain water but it will take much longer.

I'm going to try to convert some of you guys into my hydro systems and techniques that I use by

Just the opposite....... i had 98 on the tables when the cops pounded on my door. I was doing a tribute grow to albfuct. I saw them pulling up to my house on camera and hit mute on my tv. They beat on every window of my trailer for over an hour. I sat there shakinh like a taco bell dog. I was living in a bible belt state at the time so i knew i was doing 30. I said to myself "well, this is nothing more than a price i said i would pay". I knew adding my age + 30 years that i was going to die in prison. Rather than have a shawshank redemtion bromance for the rest of my life, i decided to hang myself with my clothes in a holding cell Popcorn Sutton style. I had a lot of time to think while i watched cops on my screen. I sat in the dark for 4 hours after they left and then chopped it all down and snuck it out at 3 am. When the cops came back the next day( i fkn knew they would) i answered the door with confadince knowing i only had my mom left. After that.....................my rule is one plant per light.

Your right thou aint nothing wrong with hydro. Lucas was on to something. Call me a wuss thats fine. I still get 2 per light...just not as fast. I live in a high crime neighborhood with k9 unit chasing people thru my yard every week.

You'll pull 2 pounds per light with 1 plant in RDWC much faster than in Soil, no matter how many plants that you have.

Snype, due to the quality increase you achieved via variable light intensity and temperature @ certain life cycle, as well as controlled feed @ certain growth phases, would you say the quality increase justifies operating a room with one cultivar @ the same growth phase?

Looking at many members, they produce a myriad of strains @ different flowering phases in a universal climate/environment while utilizing the same feed/media.

I'm all about mono cropping in systems that share the same rez. My conditions work for most strains but the feed schedule with other strains will change. Also maximizing similar canopy heights is also important to take advantage of all the cross light. Every grower is growing for different reasons so there's many ways to achieve a goal that you try to set. Some people grow for yield, some for multi variety and others for something else.

Some of the tops ended up being over 150 grams wet. I'm very satisfied with this harvest! We'll be working through the night again.

Oh defiantly. .... side by side with dirt it almost looked like the resin glands were double in size with hydro.. and its quicker.... i get bored easy and flip flop my style every year so im not saying never.

If i ever get me some land in a cool state it will be 1500 gallon smart pots outdoors all the way..... and ill wave to the helicopters without stress.

For shits and giggles I'm going to throw a plant outdoors in a trashcan in DWC just to see what happens! LOL! Good one!

I hang mine on metal hangers for 14 to 21 days (depending on rh that time of year) and them sweat them back myself. You can see the color change as the clorofill leaves it at around day 9. To get the deep smell back i put them in the vac seal bag for a month. Crack that bag in the kichen after a month and the smell would hit you in the living room in 5 seconds. No hay smell and no mold. Just "oh dang" drooling. I never let them get brittaly crispy where it would turn to dust in the grinder. Someone should follow the ag industry and come up with a marijuana moisture tester machine like they have for corn and beans. Never let it get below 10% core moisture. Its really hard to give instruction for dry because everyones climate is so different depending on where you live. Core moisture machines dont lie thou regardless of where you live.

It has been exactly 48 hours since I placed the rooted cuttings into VEG-A. They have been getting flooded every 3 hours. For more details, check out my RDWC Guide Part 2 in my signature.
