Are you sure you hooked up to the liquid port an not the vapor port?? Pictures would also help

i have the lp5 hooked to the terp only one connection on this tank so one hose, then the appion out port is hooked to the my recovery tank, ill try and get some pics soon , the lp5 has a dip tube i believe , how long does the ntane need to be chilled for prior to use? can you run the tane not iced? i iced both tanks down full tank and my empty recovery tank is this right? thanks again

An Lp-5 of n-Butane won't have much pressure unless you heat the tank to about 110F. It works cold with a refrigerant tank, because its two ports allow the pump to do a push pull on the liquid.

The recovery tank is the one you want in an ice bath.

made the mistake of running a cold evap yesterday with no towel under my collection pot...it froze to my deck solid hahaha.

lesson learned. i absolutely love this machine!

so if hooked up properly.... if i warm the lp5 and ice my recovery tank this may solve my problem? lp5 to terp appion out to liquid port on recovery tank ?i think havin this lp5 is makin my life more stressful than it needs to be lol, if only airgas in texas sent the ntane in the proper tank for our applications, i have patients in serious need of oil !

Get a tank with both vapor and liquid connections, and transfer the butane over using heat and cold as you described, first pulling a vacuum on the new tank and transfer hose.

Then refit the present tank with the correct fittings if possible, it will come in handy when you need to check your storage tank for moisture and other contamination.

forgot to add

if the lp5 has a liquid diptube then you will only want to open it for a few seconds, to inject liquid into your collection tank, than recover down to 0 or -5 again and then open for a few more seconds, and repeat. You dont want to overflow your terp by leaving it open.

if it doesnt have a liquid dip tube(most tanks dont), you can just leave it open and recover as a gas.

i prefer option 2, since it would leave any possible MO in your lp5. Keep your lp5 on a scale to monitor how much your transferring. if recovering it as a gas from your lp5, you can pour room temp water over the tank to keep it from freezing up.

Sounds like your all good bro! Ive been swamped processing lately. Ramping up. Im wayyyy south of you @Mainewaxworks. Ive emailed you. I hope we can keep in touch, and elevate state wide safety awareness. lets stomp on this ignorance with the mighty foot of education. We also need to incorporate standard practices. look whats happening further west for visions of whats to come. Listen, take notes, prepare, learn, and then learn some more.

thanks GW , @MEMED ill keep in touch for sure ,btw if your in maine and lookin for a cheap source for everclear any miltary base with a alcohol shop will have it cheap,its the only place ive been able to get it, plan on winterizing the next run , gonna do some mix trim runs then try a prime nug run of terperella keep everyone posted

....Looked at a pimpin ultrasonic cleaner today. It's 10ft total length unit w/ a generator. 5 ft basin for parts. Delta sonic.

Look into a storage vessel for dry ice from your local dry ice source. It can save you a lot of money, and trips to the DI store
