I didn't turn it up with the search feature, but found Eloquentsolution on page 391 of the membership list, and a last visit date of 9-17-2013. I'll give her a poke.

It was then decerboxcylated at @250 deg's for 20min's in a bath of canola oil
Watch that decarbing process carefully in the future...

I've personally not run across any hash or oil that takes a full 20 minutes to decarb. I've not made it from fresh cannabis yet and so the longest decarb I've seen has been 12 minutes and the shortest I've experienced is 5 (FIVE!).

Watch your bubbling folks and learn to pull it as the larger CO2 bubbles quit forming.... ;) I prefer to leave just a bit of oil still carbed than to over cook it.

Keep it Clean! :D

WOW, ya'll! I had no idea that my interpretation of holy anointing oil into a concentrate had taken such a following, although i know why!

This recipe was formulated to help my Alzheimer's mother, RIP mom, and the resulting formulation is in the process of changing the self medication process and hopefully more.

Thank you all for posting these most amazing stories.

Let me add part of mom's story for your interest. Her daily dose was 2 grams, yes, two (of hash oil before dilution). Mom spoke only gibberish with an occasional word.

She encountered another urinary tract infection that her hospice dr. hesitated to treat without ca culture. I was unable to get a sample with her fidgeting. Saturday came and the UTI displayed in ugly behavior.

I could take her to the hospital where they would cath her and she would kick scream and cry. I decided a better idea would be to put her to sleep with cannabis until her in homw dr., visit on Monday when i could get a script. But how much to dose someone who does two grams alrady. i decided a 50% increase of three grams should do it.

She did not sleep, but instead, the late stage Alzheimer's patient began talking again. When the Dr. arrived Monday, mom answered the door saying, "Hello! How are you? I haven't seen you in forever! come in." The dr's mouth hung open and she exclaimed, "What did you do?" I responded, "We don't know much about cannabis, do we!"

22 Then the LORD said to Moses, 23 "Take the following fine spices: 500 shekels of liquid myrrh, half as much (that is, 250 shekels) of fragrant cinnamon, 250 shekels of fragrant cane, 500 shekels of cassia - all according to the sanctuary shekel - and a hin of olive oil. 25 Make these into a sacred anointing oil, a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer. It will be the sacred anointing oil. . . .
30 "Anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate them so they may serve me as priests."

In using the processes of the time, put cinnamon bark, cinnamon leaf, and cannabis bud in olive oil and water. Boil the water away, strain the oil, and it is ready to use

This process is called hot maceration, I believe. The Egyptians and Greeks used the technique to extract the odoriferous and/or medicinal compounds. The French later developed the technique, calling it enfleurage a chaud, or hot enfleurage. The resulting pommade was either sold as it was, or it was then extracted in alcohol, chilled, filtered and then sold as an extrait, or then evaporated and sold as an absolute.

"The hot maceration technique (enfleurage a chaud) had its roots in ancient history as the Egyptians and other early civilizations discovered that by immersing aromatic materials in hot fat, the odiferous qualities of the plants could be extracted. The French extractors took the ancient techniques discovered hundreds if not thousands of years before and refined it for large scale production of pommades.

Their method was to heat about 100 lbs of purified fat of animal or vegetable origin (called corps) to 176 degrees farenheit into which was poured 44 lbs of fresh flowers. The charge would be allowed to sit in the hot macerated oil for about 1/2 hour and then the entire batch was allowed to cool for another hour. The mass would then be reheated and the spent flowers strained out through metal sieves and filter bags. As the flowers retained some of the waxes they would be treated with scalding water while in the sieves which would liquify the fat. The water being heavier than the fat would easily separate from the fat. A further step for removing the aromatic fat was accomplished by putting the flowers between filter cloth and placed in a hydraulic press and submitted to strong pressure. Scalding water was thrown on to the bags during the process so that all remaining fat adhering to the flowers was separated out. This process was repeated 5 to 6 times with new flowers being added to the fat that gradually became impregnated with the odor of the flowers. Orange blossoms, rose de mai, violets , cassie and several other flowers were treated in this way."

Good link bro! The word from the mountain in essential oils is probably Ernest Guenther, who wrote a six volume series called The Essential Oils. I only have Volume 1, which covers some of the early history, and it is excellent.

I watched ES's mom's latter three or so years, as she added four additional years to the doctors original prognosis of less than 6 months left to live, when ES retired and made a new career of care giving her Alzheimers mom.

In the latter years, she flirted with all of us guys that dropped by, maintaining good eye contact and facial animation, while chatting along in gibberish as if it made complete sense, but would occasionally talk, especially on higher dosages.

Toward the end, without cannabis, she was an enraged, frightened, kicking, screaming, and biting wraith from hell, but on cannabis she was warm and sociable, pleasuring in passing out hug and kisses, as well as playing with her lifelike doll, which she cooed and fussed over like it was a real baby.

Her last birthday, they made her three cakes, because she wouldn't remember the ones before , and we all gathered to make a fuss over her. Although she was in her final stages of the disease, she greeted us all and bubbled along with her happy gibberish.

One of the peak moments was when they handed her one of her new presents, which was a new doll. I wish I could share that picture with you, because it puts it all in perspective. Her face was fully alight, and fully expressed her joy, with wide open eyes, mouth agape, and a sharp intake of breath, that was straight from her inner child.

Consider that most Alzheimers patients, in the final stages, are normally kept heavily sedated because they are so angry, confused, afraid, and violent, while "Mom" cheerfully bubbled around the yard smelling roses and collecting treasures until the end.

On the plus side, the doctors tending her, were from our local OHSU research hospital, and they got their eyes fully opened, so she made her mark even in her passing.

I'll have to check it out GW, thanks. If you'd like to read a very old book on preparing various Toiletries, then I'd recommend:

The Toilet of Flora, by Pierre-Joseph Buc'hoz (1779)

https://archive.org/stream/toiletoffloraorc00buch#page/n9/mode/2up

This was apparently a very popular book in it's day, remaining in print well into the 19th century. As with other texts from that period, a long 's' is used which looks similar to an 'f'. It takes a little getting used to but you soon begin to overlook it.

The only reason I joined this site, was doing google searches, your brilliance comes up all the time. Want to ask BHO questions, with Tamisium.

Main questions are, "Is it a bitch buying from airgas"? What would be said if they asked what it was used for?

Does a chemical engineer need to buy it.

How much is 5 gal, with liquid siphon, approximately?

Thanks!!!!

Airgas wants a licensed business and a commercial store front.

An LP 5 tank holds about 50# of water and about 24# of N-Butane. We've paid as little as $262 from Airgas in Redding CA, and quoted $401.74 by the local Airgas.

453.59237 grams per pound

'300ml' cans of butane are about 165g on average

24 pounds times 453.59 grams per pound equals 10,886.16 grams per LP-5 tank

10,886.16 grams per LP-5 tank divided by 165 grams per can of butane equals 65.97 cans of butane to fill a LP-5 tank

I'm seeing Neon 5X at about $38 per case with free shipping, so...

65.97 cans times $3.17 per can equals about $209 to fill up an LP-5 tank with regular canned butane

Hi GW and thx a lot for sharing this reciepe.
Some info: there are different types of Myrrh(a).

IMHO after some research
Commiphora guidottii (scented myrrh)

is the one the bible refers to, but i am still searching.

Thanks for the insight bro! The myrrh essential oil that we use, works, so I'm back to the fish trap existing only because of the fish.

The Egyptians used it as a sun screen and to repel biting insects.

Good luck with your brothers MIL! Arthritis is the primary reason for my medical use of cannabis.

just wanted to update you guys that might be reading this in future. my bros mother in law has arthritis in her hands and i gave her some of my home made holy shit anointing oil. i didnt make it as strong as GreyWolfs recopy. but still very strong. so with just myrrh, coconut oil and cinnamon oil, plus cannabis; hash and weed, gives you an amazing arthritis cream. it reduced pain the first time she used it, but over time it really helped her even more to the point where she only applies it before sleep and has peace from her hands for the whole day. so i can report a total success really. i will keep asking how it's going, i wonder if it can actually achieve a lasting improvement, or if she will need to keep using it. this jar has been sitting in the freezer for a couple of years now, so i'm really glad to find it helping someone.

the more straight family members are skeptical and don't seem keen to try the medical aspects of cannabis, lol.

Hello,
I made some anointing oil for my 82 yr old father, who suffers from extreme back pain,he can hardly walk. I put the oil in capsules.I made them pretty weak, about a gram of bho in 12 caps. The first day he took one close to bedtime, and said he felt no effect. The next day he took one in the morning, felt no effect. Then about 7-8 hours later he started feeling dizzy, and his blood pressure went down a bit.We took him to the e.r.,they said he was a bit dehydrated, but his bloodwork came back ok. You can imagine me freaking out thinking I almost killed dad....so I immediately started researching myrrh and cinnamon bark oil.I found this "Taking cinnamon oil by mouth is POSSIBLY UNSAFE. The oil can be irritating to the skin and mucous membranes, including the stomach, intestine, and urinary tract. It can cause side effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, and others." So I am unsure if the oil caps caused the reaction, especially 6-7 hours after ingestion. If I ever give him oil again it will be only be mixed with coconut oil... if...,has anyone ever had this reaction with consuming hao? I told my folks to only use the remaining caps topically. Thanks for your response.

peace,
juggo
