Not sure what you mean by "blue purple color". Cut and paste one of those pictures you're talking about or link it here so I can see what you mean.

Ax - only thing I can figure is he is talking about specific genetics and the strains that posses anthocyanins - which allows them to turn purple, red, or blue...

Richard - study up on senescence and then tie that together with how anthocyanins are related to pigment expressions.

accessndx, the purplish color I was referring to is like these pics. The buds look like they have a purplish finish. What is F.A.M.I.L.Y, a strain?
