Hi Bliss sorry no vids but its not that hard, if you see what the end product looks like, and can roll a joint. Check out my diary under landraces and its also in the Ace seeds threads.
The pictures I posted show very well what you are looking for.

Good job kiwi,

Your Malawi looks very resinous and powerful despite the bad weather in late flowering .... looks very close to the malawi killer in terms of flower structure and resin size, hopefully the smoke is also killer ;)

Tangwena, i'm glad you and your friends are enjoying the malawi strenght! I'm sure you will find the elusive quality you are looking for by growing a few more plants.

We have just finished a malawi standard reproduction (backcrossing killer malawi, purple malawi and open pollinating new generation). All the malawi plants from seed were very powerful and resinous but around 10-20 % are exceptional in resin production and potency, some are very tasty much more than average malawis.

Cheers for that Tang, I don't have a vacuum sealer to do it so I might just have to stick to jar for now. Ace have definitely done a great Job and will be growing this out again for sure.

Thanks dubi, Yeah I suspected her to be a killer phenotype. Very high quality buds considering the worst season I've had. The plants produced an estimate of 18-19 oz and I have harvested 17 ounces.
20th of may with some cloudy trichs, about 11 weeks aprrox flower so it's not fully finished but I can see the potency potential already and my tolerance is through the roof so I'm going to have a break.
Are there any phenos that are shorter flower? say finished off fully by mid-late may?. I'd need a glasshouse to fully finish my pheno off.

Here's some dried buds

Beautiful malawi dried flowers kiwigreen420 :)

It really remind me the killer malawi mum. Yes, there's a shorter flowering malawi pheno (around 10-20 % of the population) that can be harvested in 10 weeks. It's usually better tasting but no so strong like the killer malawi that usually takes 2 weeks more to finish.

Hope you enjoy the samples after a bit curing ... a good malawi really makes a difference in potency, even for smokers with very high tolerance.

Hi Guys - loved this Thread. Grew Malawi Gold first time last year Upper North Island East Coast - a lot of seeded fems and 1 x good albeit small plant which I pulled too early. Malawi was very hard to judge for being ready as not used to long flowering time. Currently 1 x plant in ground smelling, looking good under magnification poss pulling end of May - did have over 40 No, (lost count) some eaten, pulled 70% as were males, some by police (diffrent far north site) Cant figure out why so many males. Original seeds were from Canada imported 2 years ago. Have pure M Gold seeds this year from 2 x massive plants. Current plant only 6' but had been tipped 3 x times this is pure Fem and sticky - Has anyone grown Malawi Gold through Winter outdoors -Day temps 15-18 celcius - night 10 degrees? Also - any info on Germinating seed in a long tube to create longer roots? Read somewhere this method used to creat more fems?? Cant get imported seeds any longer as too risky to send to my Elederly mums retirement home due to impotation of drugs through post. Chur

Im mid nsw in aus and malawi is my favourite strain . I grew it outdoors last season along with panama nep jam and bangi haze . My climate is prettywet but I think it would grow well in a hot dry arid environment aswell because mid summer it was dry and hot! Like 40 degrees c some days and it loved it.
Malawi is my main strain next year along with malawi x pck and malawi x purple haze .
Im also going to make some fem malawi x erdputs for myself

I just received a pack of Malawi Seeds in yesterday!! I'm going to give it a grow next spring. This will be the only plants that I'll grow this coming season. Dubi, how do you think they'll grow in the Southern California desert with plenty of sunshine and temps up to 110 degrees and plenty of water for them??

Hey TW, Sounds like a mean set up man. You'll definitely pull quite a few zips being ace malawi. Start a grow diary bro.

JKD(jeet kune do?) I'm in Tauranga http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tauranga so i'm in a good growing place and probably one of the best growing places in NZ. Check the climate graph man. I think it will.

here is the main one with the smaller one next to it.

I'm local too, good to see some people growing some different genetics and not just bagseed. Hope the more recent runs have been more successful!
