Great eye candy, this new series. De Grasse also has a Teaching
Company course available on netflix.
Like the original series, this new one's also produced by Sagan's widow,
Ann Druyan. In addition to producing science shows, she also has
worked for NORML (spoke at a Cannabis Cup in AMS).

I have mixed feelings about the end. It is brilliant, it makes perfect sense, but I still want to see what Meadow saw.

That's pretty much the way I felt about it when I saw it the first time. Upon further consideration, I became less frustrated by it, and thought it was a great way to end it.

A movie called "Nebraska." Real good. Bruce Dern plays this 80 year old guy who thinks he won a million bucks. His son agrees to take him from his home in Billings Montana to Lincoln Nebraska to collect his million. A road trip of the octogenarian kind. Not too often you get to see a film done in beautiful B & W nowadays. Bruce Dern was up for an Oscar for his performance.

I was on a western kick recently..Started with Silverado and then all of Lonesome Dove...Didn't quite get deep in enough to start rewatching the Spaghetti Westerns, Tombstone or some of those 90's Westerns. Anyone have suggestions for Westerns on Netflix that don't have Eastwood.. just don't feel like delving into those yet

I got just the flick for ya. An Australian western called "The Proposition." This movie thoroughly kicks ass, might be a bit too strong on the violence for some, but not most viewers nowadays.

Here are the reviews at Rotten Tomatoes (if you happen to have a movie reviewer who you like or agree with often, they'll likely be in the reviews at RT):

Unfortunately, this isn't streaming on Netflix now, but it is available for renting the DVD if you have that service from Netflix.

If you don't mind coughing up a few bucks ($5.99), if you're REALLY jonesin for a great western... you can rent it from youtube right Here:
