maybe sunset has a good reason for not meeting homeboy.
could have been a simple miscommunication... maybe they got the date mixed up???
lets try to not throw stones

shit sure is getting complicated
there is beauty in the dissonance... but thats usually reserved for the end

Well, maybe it makes me a complete ass hole...

But...the more of them that "dud" out - the better. Means people will shy away from the plant, less people growing it, less market penetration, etc...

I know I was one of the first 5 to have the GG#4 cut - ran it for nearly a full year - not a single "dud" - EVER.

I've dealt with Sour Dubb, duds - but even that I feel was due to poor growing conditions resulting in an systemic infection - that got passed along to many other people...

------

I'm not sure why everyone is so touchy and bitter and afraid to admit they are not perfect...

But, it really would be nice - if humility could take over and the individual that passed out these infected GG#4 cuts would just step forward - admit they are having some issues - and let the community help them out and get their garden back on point...

You can never improve as a grower if you are stuck on this concept that you are perfect and never make mistakes - I think it is absolutely sad that someone is so proud or afraid to just step forward and ask for a bit of advice...

These GG#4 cuts are dudding - because someone is not keeping their parental stock healthy - not because there is some sort of genetic inferiority with the plant...

EVERYTHING in this world is cause and effect - the effect is dudding. Now, get serious and find the cause. It isn't voodoo. And there are people out there NOT having these issues...

Sooo...whether you like it or not - if you plants are dudding - it's because your stock (or your sources) is not healthy and you need to improve your gardening skills...it really is THAT simple.

I don't know how many times this topic can come up - with the same answers presented...

When I hear "dud", I immediately think of broad mites. Anyone having "duds" should check the undersides of the leaves for eggs with a 100X scope. Not a virus or systemic infection.....microscopic mites.

He can chime in if he chooses to do so, but the way I was told was that the meeting was planned, but homeboy ignored all calls and texts through a 3 hour trip each way and a 2 hour wait in a parking lot. There's no telling what I would do if I was in his situation but it wouldn't be good.

I've had broad mites and I've dealt with Sour Dudds - I personally think they are different. Storm Shadow tends to think the broad mite toxin is responsible for the dudding and that in time a plant will / can grow out of it...

I personally agree that broad mites leave a toxin...

I just don't think that is the cause of the dudds - at least not in my personal experience.

I've been saying for years - systemic fusarium wilt infection.

But I am not going to say everyone is having the exact same issue. And I don't think that everyone who doesn't get the plant dialed in perfectly the first couple of runs should default to screaming how their cut dudds - I've seen several plants that I happen to wonder if the grower just doesn't need to do a better job of keeping their plants in the sweet spot...

Gorilla Glues just went outside into 400's with no supp lighting. hoping they don't start to flower, but if they do we still have more big ones in the nursery.

I always run new strains 2-3x before I decide to cull. If I get the same results after adjusting on run 3 its dumped. I have run gear from good breeders that tossed nanners on 1st run. I have seen this before. I can usually get the 2nd run dialed in to not do that. If it does it again on the last run#3 and it still pops naners it's dumped I don't care who it was made by. It's to unstable for my room.

I have never had a dudded plant. I have had the same strain grow differently depending on where its at in my room this is completely normal. The flowers are smaller but the frost is the same, yield is not the same but the finished flowers are just as good as the ones 3x the size.

I clean my rooms every year in the summer I do not flower a lot of plants in the summer 1-3 max because im cleaning everything and anything that's in the room . If your rooms are clean, Disinfected, Sprayed to keep insects out your good. I also spray the outside of my home the entire perimeter is sprayed. I have a 12" inline under the house that brings in fresh air that area is inspected and cleaned. I think having a clean environment is extremely important. Many don't do anything for years to there rooms.

In the 25-30 years I have been growing I got mites 1x from a cut I got that was miss labeled as treated. I destroyed the entire stock I had except for 2 cuts of ea of my keepers. I did many hrs of research on how to use Avid/forbid. The 9 cuts where rooted transplanted into 1g pots once they where well rooted they all got treated for 9 days with both Avid and forbid. You need to use the correct strength of ea or you will have issue or kill the plants. even with a mild solution a treatment of 9 days will kill everything including the eggs.

I have a Microscope ea plant is inspected for weeks after the treatment is done to make sure it was a success. This stuff is toxic so be safe not stupid . Put on disposable Clothes where gloves and safety glasses if you have a respirator use it I did not have one. Be extremely careful how you apply it.

If you had mites in the flower room the room It's sprayed 1x left to dry then the next day sprayed again with the other then left to dry turn on all fans intakes/exhaust's. This worked 100% for me. Since then I have not had any insect's in my rooms. besides a few gnats that I never had to do anything about. If your unsure about the use of these toxic pesticides don't do anything until you have done your homework. This stuff is no joke

That's my 2 cents

systemic fusarium wilt infection.

this

my theory is that instead of straight dying from wilt the plant 'dudds' itself because senescence

in the future when you look through a seed catalog the strain description will list disease resistance like regular vegetable seed catalogs currently do(see burpee)

I do not agree with that. I have harvested many plants when there in senescence. Been doing that for years. When your plants are faded after flushing there in senescence(dieing). This happens when the plants are mature. You need to know how to read your plants. You would not wait for the plant to die. I have never had an issue.

This happens when the plants are mature.

mature in what way?

like when a clone gets vegged to 2+ feet?

or like when the plants are ready to be flushed?

when a seed plant grows to 10+ nodes or is 6+ weeks old(and shows sex) i consider that mature... but a clone i dont know :dunno:

maybe LA is just ground zero for some new super virus...
