We have Biting flies.... forgot there name.
They are like mini bees. Black and yellow biting flies, that will chase you down for a good 1/4 mile. Unrelenting swarm of angry little flies. They HATE YOU!
They want you DEAD! LOL!
They will chase you in a car, and tick off the car windows as they attack it.
Pretty vicious. The bite hurts like a mutha too! Like getting skin pinched in nail clippers.
WE have coyotes that are very big and maingy looking.
Dont want to bump into a few of those when your by yourself.
The ticks are just everywhere. They'll get on your shoe just walking to the car and climb up your pantleg while your driving.
Im all itchy now! Freakin creepy crawlys everywhere in these woods.
What freaks me out the most is when I get a full cobweb over my face while trekkin through the woods. :whee:

Yeah I got 'deep woods' bug spray so hopefully that will help. I would also like to say one of the worst things to happen to IC was to take away the 'No vote'. Tha fuck?

Here's what you do.

Wear long pants and light colored long sleeve Tee. Spray around your ankles and waistband. I always sprayed my hair, neck, hands, cuffs both pants and shirt. Well I take that back. I used a pump bottle of Deet because you could get a higher % of Deet. Keep Deet away from your lips and eyes. Taste bad and burns the eyes bad.
I was a land surveyor so I had no option about going into infest areas. :ying:

Oh yeah I am wearing all light colored clothes so you can see the ticks. Then I put my socks over my pants, put some high boots on, wrap my hair, and cover myself with bug spray. take that you damn ticks!

Ya the higher the % of deet the better. Read somewhere that deet isn't more effective over 25% or something like that - bullshit! Dug 1 out of my belly last week. No bulls-eye so all good.

The black flies are definitely out! Unless theyre in... my nostrils, ear canals, tear ducts, etc.

When we started the outdoor my M.O. was for people to be like 'damn that little blonde girl did all that?' Well mission accomplished. The downfall? Snype has realized, 'wow, my girl can do a lot more than I thought'. Now this dudes making me help him build a porch and haul all this wood around. Shit. Backfire! :D

Same as when Snype says ' I can't make eggs like yours sweetie, your eggs are the best' ... yeah that's right Snype. I KNOW YOU CAN COOK EGGS

Lol. Yep. That's why when my wife asks me to cook, she gets grilled cheese for dinner, so she doesn't ask more. After thinking things through... I tend not to ask my wife to do any gardening shit so that I don't get the "grilled cheese equivalent" lol.

Snype found another tick in my hair last night. I really hate these things :shucks: At least this one wasn't inside my head yet. After Snype went to bed I couldn't sleep for hours because I kept thinking about a tick crawling inside my ear and then was imagining feeling something in there. Hopefully just imagining. I need a flash light..

On another note, working with any person or people on a grow can be tough. People need to be strong and put there emotions and pride aside sometimes for the better of the grow.

Snypette's tick story reminded me of this comic strip:

Don't bother with a gun but do carry a camera, preferably one with a long lens.

The odds that a cougar, or mountain lion, or Catamount (as we call them in Vermont), attacked your dog are vanishingly remote. There is an outside, very slight chance that you have one or two in the Maine woods. There have been no confirmed sightings but it is a possibility that has people excited. The big cats mostly live out West. There are a few in Florida. If there actually is one in your neighborhood then it is world class news. Get a picture. You will never get close enough to shoot one.

Snype, it's a cool shot that hits the mark not a good shot. Practice is the best thing for everybody.

Guns + grows= no good. Even obvious hunting/target firearms that are safely locked up, would be used against you. The truth is irrelevant. Also if a game warden/fish cop (they do trespass) sees a gun, even legal sidearms, they will pay a lot more attention to you. And you two already blend in like cousin Vinny. You would really have to work at it to get attacked by a wild animal.
Btw, Cops up there DO care about weed, most hate the med laws, and will fuck your life up rather than chase criminals. You both seem like intelligent people, be smart!!
Stay safe and good luck!

check out wasp injection knives.. for protection against animals that can kill you easily.. stab in a good area.. and a blast of compressed gas blows there insides apart.. disabling them or killing them .. its very effective!! lol on youtube a dude takes down a 250 pound wild hog. and another video shows wat it does to a watermelon.. just a thought lol.
