Sub's long time partner Dioxide began bagging the mix and selling it. He had been making up garbage cans full for locals for years and one day decided to sell it nationally. Sub gave him his blessing. Now they are having a fall out and I wonder if that is what is fueling Sub's rants.

BTW I know multiple warehouses that are full of lights and the TGA pre bagged soil and they aren't having any issues. If anyone needs help on how to use the soil with consistent results hit me up. I use to mix it by hand myself until Dioxide starting bagging it. And yes I am friends with both of them so biased I may be.

DO NOT BUY THIS SHIT.

TGA didn't sell out, that's the thing. TGA soil was taken over by some random guy but he stole TGA's logo... they're currently battling this as we speak. I ran 3 runs with that crap and I'm pissed because it's like I lost a year of growing. My plants weren't as healthy as they should've been and I knew something was wrong. Thanks Sub, for giving us your fuckin word and not telling us until NOW that the TGA soil is garbage. What the hell is that about? I was planning on ordering 5 packs from Sub as well, mainly dairy queen and plushberry but I'll spend that $600 on Gage Green Genetics instead.

Fuck you Sub. And fuck the guy who took over the company and started selling bunk soil. There goes TGA's rep...

Im not gonna say fuck sub.... But def fuck joel from that company!!!!!!!! I use to sell there pre bagged soil out of my store NOW I NEVER WILL... JOEL doesn't let the soil cook, it has bugs, and it sucks compared to what it use to be. DONT BUY THE PRE BAGGED SOIL AND TELL JOEL TO KICK FUCKS... YOU ARE NOT TGA JOEL :moon:

What kind of bugs have you seen in the soil? As far as cooking, I can't tell you whether he does or not, but I do know he has tested it after cooking for different lengths of time. I have seen the lab results with my own eyes and according to those 2 weeks was optimal.

See I'm worried I got a bag after Joel took over... do you know when he did so roughly? I bought my soil from www.clearspringshydro.com a good 6 months back at least... thanks for the help man

Joel has ran the business from day one. Sub has never been involved. If you have had it for 6 months, it has been cooking the whole time.

The prebagged mix has worked well for me and many people i know. I don't have room to cook it. I bought it from Aggressive Garden @ $35 for the SS and $15 for the base + shipping. It's easy for beginners and too simple to pass up for the experts. Only thing they say you could add is other organic products like molasses, fulvic acid and/or seaweed- also Root pots, Smart Pots, Geo Pots; I haven't tried any of those additives yet but the Root pots have been working out very well as the roots get prunned and expand a finer root structure into the container. I've been using a 5 gallon Root pot with 4 weeks of veg and 8 weeks of bloom in a container that has SS on the bottom half and their base soil on the top half. Works great.
All I've used so far was just water and it's produced amazing results- so FROSTY, I'd have to say i think it is better in my garden than Advanced Nutrients in Foxfarm Ocean Forest cut with CocoGro Moisture mix to say the least.
I don't know about any drama in the company other than what sub has said on Weed Nerds. The recipe is online, and you can make it if you like, but if someone can offer it at a convenience to others, than hooray for economics 101. I'll be the first guy to say I'm lazy but this is too easy to no try.
I'm sure there is some terrible grammar, my bad in advance.

Pretty much the same reason why I'm using it now. I'm hella busy with work and other stuff. So the easier it is for me to feed my plants the better. If they quit making it, It'll suck. Cuz I won't be able to mix my own at my apartment. But even if I could, I already know that I wouldn't want to mess with mixing my own on my days off. That's one of the reasons why I never used the stuff til it was already available in bags for me.

Yeah I've found that chopping at day 65 means nute taste and it's really nasty. Like Steve said though, a little more time and they start to smell and taste nice and clean. I've found that when the flowers stop smelling so aromatic is the time to chop.

Also, the update on Subcool is that he sold the company to that dude and now they produce it in a huge warehouse with less control, less time cooking and less care for the product. I could kick myself for paying $45 a bag... but 2 bags did last me a while in a 5x10 tent with just filling up my bottom halfs (7 gal) with SS. Sub's body language as well as Jill's looked guilty and sketch when they explained themselves on Weed Nerds episode yesterday. I'm wondering what theyre doing for the customers that were victims of false advertising... are you gonna reimburse us Sub? Or keep that money for yourself? Free seeds with proof of purchase wouldn't be a bad compromise.. may even save his name too

I thought that the whole nute taste thing had to do with synthetic nutes. Doesn't mean I'm right, however, given limited experience.

Per tga's writings, I used SS only in the bottom third of 5 gal pots this grow, experienced what seemed to be a calcium def in the process. Weird. Also had a huge gnat problem. I've had 'em before, mostly ignored 'em, but not like this. I'm not putting that off on the SS, at all. Got 'em under control with mosquito dunks. The rest of the soil was from various brands- mixed, fortified & recycled. Also fed some buddha bloom mid/late flower. Live & learn.

Harvested yesterday, so I'll know more in a month or so after the cure. Pics in my gallery. I'm a lousy photographer, btw.

I have the tga charge pack- think I'll use some of it & worm castings to beef up some Roots Greenfields for a similar approach this time around.

I really like the idea of being able to take it from seeds to harvest using only water, but haven't quite arrived, I think.

You shouldn't use only SS in the pot unless you are outdoors. Go 50/50 with the ss on the bottom and your tga base or whatever base soil you use in the top half.

Sub did not sell the company to him. I promise you that. He may have sold the logo, but sub doesn't even have it trade marked. A huge national company mixes the dirt and bags it. They have been for quite some time now.
