A db clone. It has about 6 tops now, hard to see in this picture. She is really loving the light, soaking up all she can get.

Oh yeah, some of my clones have already rooted, loving that! Everything is going along so much better now!

Right on, thank you man! I'm very glad I took your advice and got some DE for the mix. I can tell the critters hate it, and I swear I can already see fatter, stronger stems in my new growth. I'll be using DE forever now, great stuff!

Thanks man! I was running 4-4' shop lights (80W each) and the small 24'' t5 before. When I bought my tent it came with a MH/HPS ballast that didnt work. Went back and traded it out for 2 separate 400W MH and HPS. The HPS didnt work, so brought that back and traded it out for a 600W HPS digital dimmable ballast. I still had the 400W MH laying around, just needed a hood for it. Had someone I know who wanted to trade their hood for some bud and I couldn't have been more happy  .

With the 400W MH I have a Sun System Sun Star hood, a hydrofarm 400W magnetic ballast, and a 400W Hortilux MH bulb.

I really don't know much about bulbs, but I believe Hortilux is pretty decent, right?

DB 65 days

DB 65 days

Think I'm gonna chop her tomorrow. May wait till Friday possibly. The coco is still pretty wet after the flushing on Sunday night. Was hoping she'd be drier by now, but oh well. I think tomorrow is a good day. I still see quite a bit of clear trichomes, but a lot of cloudy ones too. A shit ton of trichomes. This one may actually be stronger than the last... :woohoo:

I can't wait man! She's got a bit of a different smell. More sour kinda with a musky kinda earthyness. Really loving it. She should knock me out, especially since I'm running her a few days longer

clone from 2nd db. I'll probably be flowering her in about 2-3 weeks. I like how she's looking already tied down. Should be nice if I get them to all grow evenly in flower

think Im gonna top the very top one now that I look at her.

Holy shit yeah, $21 a bulb sounds nice! I was just at the hydro store and they were selling 600 MH Hortilux for $120, DAMN! The 1000's were even cheaper than the 600's for some reason, same brand Hortilux ($100)

I was thinking about switching out my 600 HPS bulb with a 600 MH for the summer to cool things down. From what I've read the yield goes down a bit, but the quality goes through the roof.

My ballast is dimmable, but I really dont want to run it on 75% or 60%. I've heard that it doesnt burn at the same spectrum, reduces bulb life, and just isnt as good as running 100%. I figure now is the perfect time for me to do a few runs with MH in flower just to see the results for myself, as well as keep things a bit cooler. I'll probably keep the HPS for the last 2 plants I have in this cycle, like 2-3 weeks.

What brand of bulbs do you buy gnome??

elements ..... MH actually burns hotter than HPS . 600 watt bulbs are more expensive cuz 600 watts is hydro only . theres no commercial application for 600 watt fixtures . in commercial apps , it goes from 400 to 1000 watts nothing in between , which is why they soak ya for 600 watt equipment ..... BS huh ??

i use a sylvania BT56
if your going to run MH in bloom you need to use a 4000K spec. and you'll knock it out of the ball park.
stray too far and yes, yield will suffer and those getting crap yield aren't using a 4000K.
go to the side x side test forums and check out my mh vs hps thread,
there's another that's very good, MH for yield.
by the time I get finished in that thread
dispelling myth about how MH grow airy leafy nugs that don't yield and showing results I and others have had...al
l the mh denyer's are long gone :)

here's a few on my all MH growsusing the sylvie BT56 bulb

That's crazy they charge that much, ridiculous. Really got me thinking about maybe getting a 1000W MH ballast. I think I could pull it off in my closet with the right ventilation and an a/c.

I know why i thought MH was cooler. I was running a 400 MH for awhile then put in my 600 HPS and it got hotter. I thought it was only 200w more and there shouldnt be as much as a difference as there was. Oh well :)

I originally bought a couple of these to set the pots on so they would drain to a pan below where I could easily remove the runoff. As I started to put it together I started to think. Since it'll just be sitting on the rack I could tie some string up top and start a little scrog type of thing. I might even just use one of the metal shelves as the screen. I'd say there's about a half inch between each spot, more than enough room for my stems.

Im not sure yet, but it's got me thinking. I love these tiny little shelves at home depot. Only $20 and so versatile. can hold 250lb per shelf, 750 total. Tough little rack. They're food safe and everything.

I water.. earliy on... half the side of the cup one day..then the other side when they need to be watered again! Ends the damping off! Once they have two sets of leaves they are good to go most times! I hope this helps you out! monkey5

sheeet negroe....
gets ya a nanolux 1000w dimmable ballast for under $200 and your good ta go.
the BT56 bulb is 7" dia. so it doesn't fit most hoods,
and it need to run vert. to maintain a steady 4000K
so I'd go for a plusrite 1000W 4000k bulb from the same place,
$15 and its a BT37 so it fits in my 6" cooltubes in the veg room.
