glue crew should get a super glue started... super skunk x glue?
Already on it!
I sourced a MSS cut from a friend but it has lost its vigor over the years from cloning from clone.
Once I reinvigorate the MSS with a MSS x Purps and outcross the MSS x Purps....Ill pollinate the GG#4 with the BX4 -5 proginy.
This MSS is the shisnit. Too bad it lost its ka-pow.
She has had it for the last 14 years.

Overgrow if u stick the cut outside it will most likely come back to life and get vigor back It just needs Mother Nature to reinvigorate her and take fresh cuts from her while she is out there. Just make sure you of course back the cut up just incase it decides it wAnts to kick the bucket.

I am actually gonna do that this year with some cuts I just got. The Elvis clone that I have lost it's vigor. I had 4 of them in a ez cloner and while everything else in the cloner stayed green these things started getting dead patches and took over 10 days to root in the ez cloner. I received the cuts from a local grower so it wasn't like they were shipped but they acted like it with the dead spots.

You sure the dead patches on the leaves were'nt from air pockets in the stem from cloning? Sometimes that happenes to me if I wait to long for the Clonex to absorb into the stem before placing it into the EZ-C.

Thanx for the outdoor tip! Never crossed my mind. Great idea. I would like regular seeds though, and I dont have a male MSS to use since its clone only now.
I guess if I ran her outside, took some cuts later in the season before they flower, then use CS on a cut to get fem seeds.

To get reg seeds:
I ran a wicked dank MSS clone I got, before it lost its vigor, 5 years ago.
I was a dumb ass and flowered out my last clone and pollinated it with a male Mendo Purps without taking a clone. I thought I had 1.
SO....
I could cross these 2 strains: MSS x (MSS x Mendo Purps).
Then take the proginy and keep Bx'ing them to the MSS over and over again until Im satisfied its back to the original. Im sure there will be some purpling traits left over as a result though.
This will bring life back to the strain, and have regular seeds again of such a classic strain.
I have a bunch of ELVIS seeds if you want a few. I heard it was clone only, so may be S1's or hermi S1's?
Either way, they're fatty beans. Got them from the same guy I got a dank ChemD bagseed and that real deal MSS clone.

Ya I don't think so because all cuts were taking and put into the cloner at the same time. The cut is also very old and all the cuts of it did the same thing. Plus IMO taking 10+ days to root and they have been in cups after busting roots and they are growing at a snails pace.

heres the thing about growing plants most people seem to miss...when something goes wrong with a plant ITS YOUR FAULT!!! cuttings dont suddenly lose vigor, you made some error along the way,its as simple as that.if a plant doesnt thrive then theres something wrong in the way you are treating it....dont blame the plants, blame yourself and look for your error and correct it...

Just a little more on what was said by unclefishstick. If I had a strain and I absolutely had to keep it and it was displaying characteristics that made me think it couldn't be run I'd research it fix or find someone who could. If that was beyond the scope of my resources I'd view it as a problem that I couldn't solve because I lacked the resources or know how. I'm a proficient researcher and know that if my gg cut was a dud if either fix or decide it wasn't worth the effort because it's not the only hot strain out there. Blaming sunset or
Anyone else is you not taking responsibility for the unknown that you accept when you don't pop your own beans. For what it's worth the dudding thing should be curable regardless of the cause unless it's purely genetic which seems unlikely as others aren't experiencing it. My guess is a virus which is curable in the hands of a skilled horticulturist. Find one and pay them to help you learn the technique or move on. I'm not a gg fanboy (although I am excited about it) I would say this about any problem a grower encounters with any strain you encounter that is obtained from another grower. Quarantine plus preventative treatment of pests and disease are a must when obtaining new cuttings. Anything that happens is your responsibility. No one is 100% bug and disease free 365 days a year. Expect trouble and treat every new cut as a vector.
I am currently trying to obtain a confirmed dud cut as to outline a protocol for treatment. I want to know what it is and how to treat it in case I encounter it when it matters.

it could be a real nice opportunity, not having to outcross to reproduce and breed the strain, but just as easily a disaster... the only reason I say anything would be to caution using that male or any of his progeny until one has grown out multiple hundreds if not thousands of seeds from a test cross without observing higher than normal inter sex traits... especially since we know the parental strains history to do so... in no way knocking whats going on, just a world to the wise on the risks of not doing so.

and the reading I have done states its the pistillate males with sterile ovum, resulting in no selfing, that are the valuable ones for breeding... and were the evolutionary links from cannabis being a monoecious species to a dioecious one

I believe G1 is one of several different phenos of gorilla glue, gg4 is just the better known. one of the phenos was a male.
