I just want to get one thing straight because it seems like a lot of you guys are living in fear. I live in the country of Snype and I set my own rules and laws by using common sense. As long as I'm not hurting anyone with the choices that I make, I'll do whatever I please in my little 300 acre country.

I don't know why some of you think that any of this is a big deal. For real change to happen, we can't live in fear. Now I probably wouldn't be saying any of this if I lived somewhere in the south like Florida or Texas but the laws within the states that I'm around are pretty liberal for me to feel this way.

We are at war. Look at how this country has changed from the past. Look at how TV has changed and how values and families have been lost or misdirected. A wife and husband both have to work just to make ends meet. Corporations are raising most peoples children. They've put their focus into raising consuming cattle. They've made debt feel normal to people. Corporations and banks are running the country. Lobbying is legal. The entire governmental system is corrupt. It's all about money and profits. Small business's are going bankrupt because they can't compete with corporations. If we continue the path that we are on as a country, there won't be a small business left. If you look at the percentages of new jobs coming into play in this new economy, they are more low wage jobs. Most people can barley survive as it is. Big changes are coming but most people either don't understand or are choosing to stick their heads in the sand. As a country we all need to rise up and do something about it but the masses are too busy with the candy that they are being fed from all directions. The corporations are winning this war and there is no end in site.

They are raising a calculator mentality society. Don't add 1+1 in your head, use the calculator instead. For example, I'm almost 40 and don't have a license. I went to the gas station to get a pack of cigarettes yesterday and had to wait 30 minutes because I had a passport and she never saw one before. I tried to explain to her that I have wrinkles all over my face and it's obvious that I'm over 17. You have to be able to use your own head. She was looking through a license book trying to find pictures of passports and she actually found one and said it looks kind of different than yours. This went on for 30 minutes and every customer who came in the store thought it was crazy too because it was obvious that I was close to 40. In the end, she wouldn't sell me the cigarettes even though a passport is the best ID that anyone can have.

Please, do not call me an expert.

I am always learning every season a way to do it better or smarter.

Just please trust me, and choose 2 strains at most that you want to grow that are EXTREMELY vigorous, have robust root systems, and will flower with 13 hours of light if you want to do full term out door.

If I was in your area, which I have considered coming to numerous times...I would get an actual green house frame, Clear Span makes nice ones , so does Golden Pacific Structures and Envirotech Green House Solutions ...and light dep my ass off inside that during the spring summer and fall.

So, we got most of our supplies so far. Next week we got a bulldozer coming here to level some land for this project. I never used a bulldozer before so lets see if my city mentality brakes the thing. We also just bought a nice high privacy fence to hide a few things. We will also be building hoop houses all over the place for our vegetable gardens and we also will be growing pumpkins and watermelons. I'm not sure if I told you guys but we just slaughtered a few pigs that we grew here on the farm and the meat tastes so good! It's probably the best bacon I've ever had!

Good luck Snype. This should be interesting. I'd go with the taller and wider coldframe..and take Backyard Farmer's advice.

Yeah I'm going to go with 14' x 36' and about 8.5' height. Me and Snypette will be getting 4 of them for the LightDep for 48 plants and then after those finish we will transfer whatever full season Smart Pot plants into the Cold Frame structures. Thanks for the help!

Sorry about the expert talk. I know what you mean. I just meant that you know what you are doing. As far as choosing 2 strains, it's just not possible at the moment. We will get actual green houses for next year but we want to get a season under our belt. We already spent over 20k in expenses for this first outdoor experience and we are trying not to spend too much more. I didn't realize how expensive this was going to be.

:comfort:

is using a calculator better or worse then using a pencil and paper ?

Not sure if you're trying to fuck with me but if you need a pencil and paper or a calculated then you are still part of the problem.

Hopefully some of you guys can help me with my soil mix. I'll be ordering a local mix for some of the plants but I have to make a mix with the materials that I already bought. I'm making this mix in batches of the formula below:

36 Cubic Feet SPGM Peat Moss
36 Cubic Feet Top Soil
24 Cubic Feet Perlite
24 Cubic Feet EWC
240 Cups Azomite
120 Cups Powdered (NOT PELLETED) dolomite lime
60 Cups Blood Meal
120 Cups Bone Meal
60 Cups Kelp Meal
60 Cups Neem Meal

I couldn't get Oyster Shell Flour to pH the soil so I have to go with Dolomite Lime Powder. Can some outdoor guys tell me if there is something wrong with my mix? I don't want to burn any plants and I'm trying to do a just add water mix so I don't have to top dress later on in the season. I'm also hoping that a 30 day cook time will be good. Thanks in advance!

For the LightDep I'm working with 11 phenotypes. I'll give a preview of some indoor pictures of the same plants that are going into the LightDeps. It'll be interesting to see how different they look outdoors since I'm so used to indoor.

when you getting more seeds of bytch :) ?

Probably the end of the year.

No im just confused by what you said because I count ph and ec/ppm meters as calculators

pretty much all growers seem to do better when they use calculators/meters/scales.

You're talking to a guy that knows pi to the 51st decimal by heart:
3.14159265358979323846264338327950288419716939937510

That all got stuck in my head on an acid trip.
