End of week 1

End of week 1

Last week I moved 2 teenagers out to make more room. Not much is happening as I transplanted into 10 gallon pots so most of the energy is going into growing new roots into the organic soil.

Trainwreck

You can see there isn't much new growth but wait until next week. Growing those roots to support the flowering will make a big difference.

Mildred

She's my favorite at the moment. I may try her outside this summer.

First day

First day

I have a couple of plants that were showing definite sativa characteristics. Both where stretching and were about 30" tall. I wanted to wait another week or two until I harvested my 3 ladies. But I couldn't put it off so I topped them and moved them to the flower area.

Original Halo

I only topped the main stem on this one.

Another Original Halo

This one I had to top the main stem and some of the branches. I gave her a crew cut.

Ladies

The flower area is pretty crowded right now. I don't like it with this much going on but I just have too many varieties at the moment. I'll get things under control in the next couple of months. I'm not going to be growing Original Halo again. I don't have the head room for a sativa plant. I've got so much in there that poor 1 week old Trainwreck didn't even get in the full picture. That's her on the left.

Say goodbye to my girl friends. They've finished 8 weeks and maybe could go another week but I need the space for the next round. So I'm taking them down tonight.

Trainwreck bud

These ladies finished up the whole flower cycle with water only. I quit the IPM at the end of the third week. I had no powdery mildew nor spider mites. I'm crossing my fingers that this is a new trend for me. I'm going to cut down and hang these ladies. I'm also planning on using the sugar leaves with the dry sift. Everything will be so clean,

While carrying them in from the cellar to the storage area I'd say that Trainwreck weights the same as both Chocolope and Chemdawg together. That's good to know since I've got more Trainwreck and no more Chocolope and Chemdawg. I've got the big yield plant cloned.

These two plants have been in the flower area for 2 weeks are are starting to show some bud. These are really my first grow from clones to teenagers and finally to ladies in my soil mix.

Mildred

Trainwreck

While I like it when I turn the teenagers to ladies I really don't spend much time during the first few weeks with them. I don't start hanging with them until they get about 4-5 weeks. That's when they are starting to put on the buds.

These are some sativa dominant plants that I had to hurry into the flower area because they were stretching too much. I have 4 more teenagers that will be coming into the flower area in place of the harvested ladies. I won't be doing that until the morning.

Original Halo

Another Original Halo

These plants and 4 others are in 5 gallon pots so I can get 6 under one light. I've got a 5th teenager that will be going into a 10 gallon no-till pot and joining Mildred and Trainwreck under the other light.

One more observation before I call it a night with the pictures. I have this variegated plant.

Goblin Girl

This one is a definite favorite to me. I really enjoy just looking at her. I wish I could be a better photographer to capture the colors better. I was curious to find out if the variegation can be passed on to the next generation.

Goblin Girl clone

The answer is yes.

Today I transplanted a Goblin Girl and an Original Halo. So that is 6 out of 7 cloning attempts. I still have an Original Halo that is looking good but no roots have shown yet. I took the cuttings on March 31 so that is 4 weeks to show roots.

It's been a busy morning so far. The first thing I did was take care of the empty pots that I had harvested from last night. One of the 10 gallon pots I did a no-till on.

Up on top there you can see the 10 gallon pot that I dug the roots and dirt out of for the teenager. The bin is holding the removed dirt. I'm going to dump that and the dirt from the other 2 10 gallon pots into one of my garbage cans and use it for filling my wife's flower containers. That 5 gallon bucket is holding my own EWC/compost that I put in the bottom of the hole and filled in around the sides. I'm hoping this will work out okay. This isn't what I consider my final soil mix but it grew this plant.

Chemdawg

I selected this 10 gallon pot because of the living mini-clover mulch did so well in it too. Sorry about getting my ragged ass tennis shoe in the picture.

Now that I got the flower room cleaned up and ready for the next run I'm going to show the line up. This is all Sanctuary Garden genetics. I transplanted these teenagers into 5 gallon pots so I could put all 6 under one 1000W light. One I did no-till into a 10 gallon pot.

So I've got a full room now. We'll see how big this gets. It already looks like a sea of green grow.

Excellent - great news to hear. I'm looking forward to see your space up and running.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm happy with the results I'm getting.

Well I say some spider mites on a couple of ladies so I'm going to have to bring out the Spinosad. They're only a few and no marks are showing on the upper leaves. So it is really early. Spring is here and the weather is warming up so the spider mites are all around the property

Trainwreck

Mildred

These girls are done with the neem oil/ProTeKt/aloe vera juice sprayings. They're looking nice a healthy. I'll see if I can keep them that way.

Here are the Halo sisters ending their second week. They're not stretching as much as I thought they might. So this is good.

The rest of the SG genetics are finishing up their first week. My flower area is beginning to fill up. I have more than I like in there. Here they are.

Neon Purps

I've got her in a 10 gallon pot and she's sharing the light with Mildred and Trainwreck. This one will be fun to watch.

Goblin Queen

Another Goblin Queen

These 2 are sisters but the last picture shows that she is stretching more than her sister. I'm wondering if she is going to stretch like the Original Halos.

Goblin Girl

Now she is so pretty. I'm wondering if she will carry some of the color into the flowers.

Another Goblin Girl

That ends this week pictures. I'll put up more next week.

I'm taking a little deviation with the pictures today. I want to see how tall the ladies are so I'm looking more across instead of down with the camera. The marks behind them are at 3', 3'6", 4'. I used a 16:9 setting for the shots too.

Trainwreck

I thought it would be nice to see how the buds develop. This is when I like watching them fill out and get frosty.

Trainwreck bud

Mildred

These plants are running in my finalized soil mix from one gallon pots on up. They've only been given water. The buds are already looking good. I'm having high hopes on these ladies.

Mildred bud

I found a few spider mites on my plants about 2 weeks back. I squished all I could find. It wasn't many, Neon Purps and my Goblin Queen seedling clone had them. I hit all the ladies with Spinosad and they are gone. I've been checking but haven't found any live ones in the last 5 days. I've got one more round of Spinosad and then I'm done. I've gone on a every 3rd day for 4 times spraying.

I'll have to keep watching because spider mites are everywhere outside. This is the first time I've found them and was able to get rid of them. I found them before the tops of the leaves showed signs of them. I flipped over leaves and looked for them. Something I'm going to do more often now that summer is approaching.
