MKIII Total Components List

Hey'all!

:shooty:

It was a bit of a struggle to find all the extra MKIII components, part numbers, etc...

All the info was there, just not all in one place... At least nowhere obvious.

So after a great deal of compiling I present you my basic rig setup!

NOTE: This is an ongoing list, and I'd love to have the Pros chime in on the smaller details before I set it in stone.

(NOT my rig pictured!)

Also, I know there are some errors or missing things here... Any input would be greatly appreciated so the list can be truly complete! It's tough to tell what fittings are what when ordering online.

Hopefully this will be a group effort and we can make a master list!

Many thanks to all those who have helped along the way.

maybe im just not seeing it , but I need a part number/s for a inline filter for the recovery pump

or a good link to one I can use from Amazon

I did find the Sporlan C-303 , but it's not available on amazon

found random filter driers , they have different desiccant in different filters , didn't know for use with butane if it needed to meet any certain requirements or not ..

I would spend money on a steel take apart filter so you can take thefilter out and recharge it in the oven between runs. I found the replacable ones get gummed up with stinky stuff easy. With the steel ones i can degrease the whole thing (with limonene), clean it with alcohol, soak it in pbw, alki dip and air dry. Seems to work, and keeps my obsessive clean gene happy! I run a 1 filter one on the intake, and a 2, or 4 filter one before the recovery pump, depending on the size system im running. Its good to put them in an ice bath to help keep the gas cool and the pressure down. Search ebay. Solid investment. Respect to redbeard for the idea. Weld stainless npts on to the ports, dont make the mistake of using copper like i did on my first one. Copper is a nono for us.

MEMD, "Respect to redbeard for the idea."

Thanks goes out to RB for sponsoring an ICMAG banner!

thank you sky! Still trying to catch up in order to actually do a sticky here. Much thanks to skip for being patient while we got a basic website up. Don't judge too hard, it is a work in progress.

If you email me, I can send you a link to all the equipment you'll need for your system.

it can be hard to match up the ends of the filter drier with your male flare on your system, so sometimes you need the third item, which is a brass coupler

I feel a good clean S.T.A.S filter is the truth! It helped me tremendously. Weight it right after use. You'll see! Worth every red cent.

really? You still reccomend those dinky things rb? Id think it'd be more sound to suggest a more permanent solution, albeit more expensive (marginally) it actually does what we need instead of just sucking. When I used those it would stink after its first use. And subsequent runs would be infused with said funk. With the stas filter i can douch it everytime. No question for me. Plus you can find the housings for like 80bux shipped sometimes on fleabay.

one time, when I first starting learning the way of the terp, I overflowed my pot. Lucky for me it was after id started using the stas and said gunk got trapped by the stas. It would have been too large a volume for the inline filter and i think the fact that the stas is in a cold bath it helps cool the vapor and trap stuff. I dunno. Im ramblin, going for 50 posts!

Those STAS filters seem like a great permanent solution as opposed to constantly replacing standard filter driers.

I had been leaning towards a filter made from sanitary parts and filled with molecular sieve, I wonder how a STAS filter would compare?

What type of core are you using MEMED? I see molecular sieve cores are available as well as many others for a range of applications..

W-48-HH burnout cleanup

I cant stress enough to degrease and scrub, pbw, and alki sanitize everything! I clean my steel, and lines after each day with a limonene bath and alcohol and dry with my air compressor

Having a core which can remove more than just moisture seems optimal. On which line(s) are you running STAS filters?

Do you use pbw on the filter only, or the entire unit? Followed by limonene/alcohol?(EtOH I presume)

Appreciate the help :)

My cleaning process for everything is like this.... I fill 4 bins. 1 with a limonene/water mix, 1 with pbw, 1 with denatured alcohol, and one with my sanitizer. The process goes like this, take the peice(s) im cleaning, dump in an alcohol for an inital rinse, scrub, shake off, throw in limonene for a bit (5,10min). wearing gloves, scrub with nylon like its your job (it is!). see how clean it is? Then another dip in the alcohol bath to get the limonene off. Then the pbw. Then the alki sanitize (sanistar?) i forget the name. Then I hang to drip dry. I do this with hoses when I first get em and as needed. Usually I can get away with just a limonene, denat etoh swirl, compressor dry on them. Cept for that damn megahose when I use it. That shit gets nasty when i use it.

oh, I use the 48cu inch take apart filters on my personal machines, but for someone running a IIIa, it is kind of overkill. Plus, you are talking under 20 bucks for the smaller ones versus around 300 for the ones I sell plus filter

I mainly run a type of 3a. I wouldnt run the smallest system without it. I allocate a couple extra lbs of solvent for them. You can calculate the requirements.

Ive found there essential. I had overlooked them in my prior hunts. Thanks for suggesting them RB

which ones do you sell for 300? I get the housings on ebay for 70 the 2 to 3 filter ones for 120-150ish. I stay in touch w/ the vendors for more supply!
