when meds are tested in med states that ive seen they dont give results that tell what the products that show up are but rather presence of certain isolated chemical compounds i. e. phosphorous chlorine etc. ive found no info online as to how these chemicals present themselves when they show up in these tests. what class of compounds would avid or other pesticides show up as and how long do the take to degrade enough to not be present in testing. i think these testing rules are going to be a step towards people having to learn disciplined hygene protocols and treatments that could pass the bar of desirable under the scrutiny of full disclosure of products used. what you are proposing doesnt concern me its the unscrupulous hosing of flowering plants with chemicals not safe for consumable crops. genetic stock material that will not be flowered is a different story.

unc, what kind of camera you usin? yer pics are always beautiful....
a camera is just a tool whose purpose is to collect light in a coherent fashion, the real trick to taking good pics is this....you're not taking a picture of the object, you're taking a picture of the light thats reflected and refracted by the object....when you understand the difference in those two things then it becomes easy....and the other secret? take shitloads of pics and throw 90% of them away,or really 99% of them...if i was more honest with myself most of what i post doesnt really meet my standards for a good photograph, decent enough pics, but not good photographs...

so to answer your actual question i have a 10+ year old sony HL-5 with a carl ziess lens, its what i would call an "old lady taking flower pics cam",not a pro level camera by any means or even really all that nice...and i shoot on full auto,no trickery there,no photo shop, just cropped and resized...

all i do thats different really is use lower shooting angles, most people stand over there plants and shoot at a downward angle so they only capture the reflected light and not the refracted light, and since the angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection and most people are shooting from a position thats out of phase with the reflection angle they get bad pics.
simply moving the camera into a flatter angle in relation to the plant allows the camera to pick up more of the refracted light since in that case the angle of reflection is equal to the angle of incidence modified by the refractive index of the material being photographed...

I'll take 100+ pics and MAYBE find 1 or 2 good ones. I spend more time taking pics than a do tending the garden...when it's time to take pics...
