FORT LAUDERDALE—In a press conference held Tuesday morning, NASA officials have announced the discovery of liquid water on the surface of the region commonly referred to as Minnesota. The discovery has come as a surprise to the space exploration organization, which has listed the state of Minnesota as “unsuitable for any and all biotic life” since mid-November. Temperature trends extrapolated from four months of hard data had extensively confirmed the scientific community’s well-formed hypothesis that Minnesota temperatures were unlikely to shift above “subarctic status.”

and.......

NASA’s announcement has lent a new aura of credibility to the writings of many theorists who insist the Minnesota region plays home to a humanoid race of highly-robust organisms living on a diet consisting of nutrient-dense hot dishes, and whose culture revolves primarily around shitty football teams and complaining about their climate. These posits, best exemplified in the popular Coen Brothers film, Fargo, are still largely dismissed by the scientific community. Maj. Gen. Bolden addressed these unlikely propositions, asking viewers to reflect on “the inconsistencies between ‘intelligent’ Minnesotan life and our current Theory of Evolution. While popular culture may elevate the idea of a large tribe of suspiciously friendly bipods who stoically endure perennial beatings by the Green Bay Packers, this theory has no place in the rational realm of scientific thought.”

last couple of days it's tried to get above freezing but no such luck, hell 48 hours ago it was -6F (-14 w/the windchill factor) up here just north of Bemidji, another 30 days or so & we'll finally start to warming up. :)

It's supposed to be a high of 48 on Sunday up here on the Range! It's too bad I have to spend the day helping a buddy move because there is a big ATV ride that I wish I could on.

self exile Giggles, I'd run amok back in NY and had to leave there. I left in July '88 and was on my way to Sturgis for the bike rally, I figured on finding a quiet spot to sober up along the way, I didn't know that I would visit my dad @ the time and settle down in his old home town.

in ground and above.

we have greenery here too, just a much shorter season, and me, I prefer to be looking @ rivers lakes and pine forests as opposed to rocks.

but the really good news is this unc, the ice will be gone from the lakes some time in late April or early May, soft water fishing again

idk, that sounds a little hillbillie-ish to me unc, never heard the term before. and thank god we don't have many hills here.

another thing we're stuck with are all these natural blonds :) Now you've got the weather that almost dictates that they wear as little as possible, up here they're hungry enough for warm weather that sunny & 40F has them jogging in yoga pants.

today's supposed to be our glory day @ 47F (42° now) but down to single digits again for overnight lows over the next 3-4 days.

when I got here in '88 I was already familiar w/water shortages in NY, CA and many places in between, when I saw the enormous water table here I was awestruck, in fact earlier in this thread I show how the Mississippi river grows from a walk across stream to a huge river in about 225 miles of travel.

every affordable california property that I've looked @ to buy has had summer temps of over 100F regularly through July & August, humidity too. Sure as I'm retired I can live in the comfort of air conditioning nearly full time but 2-3 solid months of staying in (whether home or out) would drive me nuts; that plus on either side of July/August are months of weather w/temps peaking over 85-90F w/humidity, like living in Sauna Land.

I'm fat, I don't sweat, I make fuckin' gravy.......
