Nice Hemphery...Very psyched to see a current run of Reef beans going.
I am another person that is glad to see Reef back. One of my tastiest outdoor girls ever was a BC Mango bred by Reef. Purchased in 07 or so. I also got a very stinky male Petrolia Headstash x Og kush. The Early Island Indica didn't float my boat but theres still a few beans left of that. I'm going to be growing Blue Nepalese x Blue Thunder this summer that another long time Reef admirer made a few yrs back. Has anyone on here grown any of the Skunk strains he sold thru the King ? distribution guy that handled orders after the website went down etc? I think I got the Double Skunk. It's abbreviated on the pkging and I can't remember exactly what it was.

I have read a post allegedly by Reeferman himself on another site that Barney's Amnesia Lemon is actually Reeferman's Love Potion #2.

Never had Love Potion #2, but have had Barney's Amnesia Lemon and the description is identical.

Sorry if my post is out of line, but I am just interested in knowing the true genetics.

So this mean that the lineage description of Lemon Amnesia (Skunk#1 x Amnesia Haze) is not correct????

Keep on growing :)

Putting 5 Willie Nelson seed in water today...that will leave me with 5 seeds if these don't work out. Wish me luck, folks!

Just a quick update...

The apple pie is starting to show sex. So far, I have 3 confirmed females, one male and one unknown. All look very uniform, but they need to be transplanted very soon.

I took some cuttings of the LP#1 x Nev's Haze and am waiting to see if those are going to take root or not.

The Cherry Bomb hasn't done much growing vertically. It's just a bush at this point. Not sure what I'm going to do with that one...might just put it in a bucket outside and see what happens.

I'll put some pics up soon so you guys can see how this apple pie is coming along. It's got a nice wood/incense smell on the stem rub.

Creek, I tried to get 10 to germ so far and NONE of them germed for me.

I noticed the price went down for the Willie since I bought them. I might give them another shot, but I dont know....

I wish someone would make some seeds and send them into the bay for the server fund or something...maybe someone has some original seeds that were stored properly. They could grow them out and just do an open pollination or something. I think I might still have a couple of WN seeds from mid/late 2000s(?) but two plants ain't gonna work. I would want to start with at least 30 to do that kind of project.

I haven't tried the last 5 seeds I got from the mug shop, but I think these are some really old pips that weren't stored right...I'm not too confident in them.

One last update and then I'm moving my grow pics over to a new thread because I'm growing other stuff besides Reef's gear and I don't want to leave the other plants out. First, the breeder's description of Apple Pie....

"Acapulco Gold x Highland Nepalese. A landrace based F1 that will fuckin' amaze you. Tops in tokes, true reefer madness up there with Willie Nelson. Like heroin in a joint except you don't barf. Haze lovers need to try this. Big super vigorous sativas with big yields, 12-16 ounces in southern climates. A real Texas ball buster."

When I first started growing these, they looked like indica plants. Now that I've had them for a little while, I'm starting to notice some serious stretch, lanky growth, and a nice musky/hashy/lemon scent even though they are still very much in veg.

I still think I may have started these too early and with too little light, but they're happy and healthy and they'll be outside very soon.

I ended up with 4 females from 5 seeds started. The germ rate was 100%. I culled the male.

The apple pies are on the left, my lp#1 x nh mom is to the right. Her head got chopped off, but she's hanging in there....

Apple Pie....

The tallest apple pie is almost 4' from the base and the smallest is about 2 1/2' from the base. I have two tall, and two short. Like I said, the stretch is probably due to multiple issues...not enough light during veg, starting them too early and thus trying to extend the veg period, and me not topping them at all. I want to let them get as tall as they want to.

I'm planning on putting them outside in 20 gallon Vermifire filled smart pots buried in the ground and covered with cedar mulch. I'm shooting for the first week of June, I think.

I took some LP#1 x Nev Haze clones and most of them didn't make it. I gave away a few and I'm now left with two clones and the mother plant. I was cleaning the yard a while back and found a 3 gallon pot with an old, dead stem in it from last year's grow. I pulled the dead stem out, watered the medium, and stabbed a branch of the lp x nh in the hole left from the stem and root. No gel, no powder, nothing...lol.

A couple weeks later, it is ready to be transplanted and will go in a 20 gallon smart pot very soon....

Here is another lp x nh clone that was rooted in coco and recently transplanted to a 1 gallon pot filled with Vermifire. I figure another two or three weeks of sun and it'll be more than ready to go into a 20 gallon container in the sunnier part of the yard....

I'm going to start a new thread over in the growing outdoors section soon if anyone is interested in following along and seeing how these apple pie turn out.

Thanks and have a great season everyone!

I have searched this thread but to no avail.... Charles Scott if your still browsing this thread. I have been wondering if the original haze strain you sold was a lineage from the brothers Grimm ? It is a great strain and I have since used it in many breeding projects. I have not had a single hermi. Thank you for your great contributions to cannabis.

Willie Nelson

Willie Nelson

Hi Reef! Glad to see you're back!

I first bought Willie Nelson in 2004 when his site first came up, loved it so much! Was able to get one of the last packs from cannabiogen back in 2008 or around then. Saved them till last spring and had 5/5 pop, 3 of which survived, all females. Gave the remaining 10 seeds to a dear friend recently who has better space. Found a Nepalese pheno, first time ever out of all the Willie's I'd ever grown, amazing resin production and really tight nugs.

Honestly never understood why Reef somehow managed to get a bad rep from so many silly people. In my dealings with him directly, he's always been a standup and honest to goodness man. Too many egos run around this community if you asked me. Just enjoy sharing with mother Earth, y'all silly. So am I. haha

just smile

also selling fake seeds like his c99 that was not c99, or his nepal highland, that are fx's from greenhouse's himalayan gold, both full of hermafrodites helps a lot to not to have a good reputation, selling dead seeds wich he usually do doesn't help too much too....

Hi Charles, justing letting you know I grabbed a pack of Hau Bac around 2014/2015 from one of your authorized re-sellers (attitude) and while the bud was nice and potent it didn't appear to be the authentic landrace I was hoping for or expecting. It seemed to be ready by late Sept/early Oct. I was quite dissappointed comsidering the price. Not sure if it was you or the guys at attitude who messed up. I only grew out one but there's a few other peoples grows too where guys got males and plants were not long flowering as expected.

The bud was nice though whatever it was I'll give you that.

Peace

Little side story: recently been watching "Border Security". A MJ Farmer from California tried to visit Canada but was rejected at the border. Wanted to visit a buddy from the internet who's name is Charles, nickname Reef. He was suspected to acquire seeds and therefore rejected.
