Thanks! I'm really pleased with how well they're doing so far. Gets me all giddy lol

Hmmm crossing is something I've always wanted to do too....decisions decisions. Lol.

Normally I get clones & veg for about a month, but since this time I'm goin from seed & doin a scrog, ill probably go closer to 2 months. Especially since i'll probably only end up with 2 good plants to run (i feel like it would be easier to manage in scrog than 4 plants lol). But I might run 4 if I can!

Forgot to add, thanks for helping to confirm the male! I wasn't sure if they'd show yet since I'm only about 23 days into veg on an 18/6 schedule. I'm glad they're starting to show this quickly though! Lol

yeah man definitely, its always a good thing when gender pops out early. i vegged a plant for bout almost two months and it was a male. just sucks when you put your time into it training it to become nice and bushy till you find out its a male.

we had maintenance at my apartment so i had to get rid of my males, couldnt go back in the flower room:/

good news is my plants are getting fat!!!!!! so ill pst you a pic on the weekend:yay:

Oh damn that sucks about the males :( I remember one time our apt complex was doing random inspections & I had to trash my plants. Fucking sucks!

Hell yeah let's see how those fatty's are doing! How much longer do they have?

So it's just over a month of flowering & they've grown a lot more...and I think it's time for me to start making some changes. Lol.

I took the dim's needed for the scrog screen, and I'll probably get the supplies for it tomorrow. Gonna put it above the intake fan so that will circulate the air below them & i'll have my clip-on fan on the canopy/light. ALSO have to transplant the keepers into the 5 gal pots before putting the net up...UGH :faint: lol

Only thing is...I"m running out of room & need to start flowering these things to see who the keepers are! Hopefully they don't stretch too much before showing sex, but if they do....I'll just drop that screen on top of those bitches :smoke:

Also, one of my Lucky Charms seems to have a slight problem (second picture below). Some of the leaf's color is fading. I'm still pretty inexperienced with deficiencies/problems so I don't know what it is lol. Very newbie of me...it hasn't stunted its growth or anything yet so I'm just gonna keep an eye on it.

Happy growing!

Hey CaveGrower! I hope you don't mind if I tag along and watch this awesome thread. I am very interested in CMH lighting and happy to see such excellent pictures to go along with the grow report. The plants look amazing, and the color of light really looks like sunlight. Great job and keep up the good work!

P.S. Fredo, thanks for your contributions...excellent information and pics on your side as well!

:tiphat: to both of you

Hey tech thanks for the kind words, go ahead & pull up a chair - the more the merrier!

I'm a big fan of the CMH so far. I've been using it for about 1.5yrs & have had great results. Granted I've never had an mh/hps setup before, so I can't really compare, but it definitely does the job!

So as of three days ago I flipped the light to 12/12 to help promote sexing, because I need to get the keepers transplanted & my scrog screen up! :whee: soon though....very soon.....

I've seen preflowers on two SL's and one LC so far, which is great. I just wanna see if I have any other females & then pick the best out of the bunch. Buuuut if they don't show soon I might just say fuck it & keep the ones I already know are fem's!

I (luckily) found time to build my scrog screen this weekend too! It turned out pretty well, I'll throw up a picture next time. But for now, here's some quick snaps of the preflowers & the whole gang.

Happy growing!

I have a question if anyone can answer it.

Is it too stressful to put the plants back in veg once they show signs of sex? They've been on 12/12 for almost a week now. I just want to know which are fems, toss the males and be able to transplant then veg for a little longer under the scrog. I'm thinking going back to 18/6 shouldn't be too bad but I wanted to see if anyone had experience with this

Scratch that last post lol. Can't seem to find a way to delete/edit my posts....

Apparently had an issue with my timer and the plants were really on 20/4. Don't ask how lol.

Anyways! I hope this isn't true but one of my PC's is showing traits of the mosaic virus. But I'm not sure....

Ill get a picture up sometime soon.

Not sure why I can't edit my posts, but whatever! Lol

So I transplanted two of the keepers last night into their 5gal homes. I still have 1 fem of each strain too but prob won't keep them through flower. Not enough room :( plus the other fem LC has that issue, so yeah lol. That's okay though, ill be able to manage 2 plants in this space much easier! Less watering/training this way.

Now the fun begins....my first scrog is now coming to the exciting stage finally!! :woohoo:

I'm gonna let them get acclimated to their new pots before I throw the screen on top of them, so ill throw some new pictures up this weekend.

Okay! Finally putting a picture up of the screen lol. I've learned that I probably should've put the screen another inch or so shorter, but live & learn! Also, don't let the plants get as tall & try to train more prior to puting under the screen...still going great though!

So I'm thinking I should start flowering soon since these should stretch pretty well. This picture was from yesterday morning & they've stretched a little more since then.

I'm watching! I'm doing my first real attempt at a SCROG as well. It is working great so far. Awesome that your using a CMH, my buddy who taught me everything swears by them for personal smoke but the weight just isn't the same (if looking to make a bit of profit). The quality = better.

Keep up the good work.

What's up OSG! Thanks for the kind words. I'm definitely gonna have to stop by your grow & check out what you're working with

The CMH definitely rocks! The simple fact of not having to switch bulbs/ballast is awesome by itself lol. I have noticed that the weight isn't the same compared to HPS but definitely does produce some great quality smoke! I'm sure if I trained better and had a better feeding schedule with my past grows I would've got a lot more, but I averaged a QP per run. Not bad but not nearly as good as it could've been lol.

So every time I try something new, I learn something new....this time I I learned to let them veg a little longer because I thought things would get too crowded, but a week into flowering & it seems like they could've filled the screen a liiiiittle more lol. The Silver Lotus looks crazy right now - has lots of smaller nodes everywhere but should turn out fine. The Lucky Charms, on the other hand, seems to be perfect for scrog so far!

I've been slacking on images lately, just working & family life taking up most of my time. I WILL get some pictures up by this weekend though!

Happy growing!

Picture time! :woohoo: I also have a few questions I'll put below my comments.

Here they are @ about 1.5wks into flowering. Silver Lotus is on the left & Lucky Charms is on the right.

I didn't do a great job keeping the canopy even/level, but they're still doing great & I'm making sure to get the light to some of the lower nodes.

They're staying pretty healthy so far, with the exception of some clawing leaves on the SL. I put a picture of it up. Possibly nitrogen toxicity, maybe? I never monitor the ph of the soil itself, but always measure it before feeding.

Now for my questions...
- Is it too late to keep training some of the LC branches since they're already flowering? Or should/could I continue to train them for another week or so to try to even out the canopy?

- Should I just give the Silver Lotus RO water the next few feedings to try to get rid of the Nitrogen toxicity, or just cut back on the nutes for a little bit?

- Is this a terrible first scrog attempt? Haha  I'm too critical

- Does it look like enough growth for me to hit my goal of 2oz/plant? I hope so but I'm doubting myself haha

Pictures in next post...

Hey what's up hoss, if I recall it's a 240 cfm fan. The temps stay around 80-83F. Although I know the ideal temp is normally in the 70s, I've never really had any temp issues. The only problem has been keeping a steady feeding schedule & staying on top of it lol. I'm really happy with how healthy these ladies look, with the exception of the few leaves curling.

Next chance I get I'll take some more pics. They're looking better and better every day!

Hello everyone! So I'm back with some pictures finally. The last week has been crazy, especially with Easter going on too. I ended up in the hospital with a collapsed lung, didn't work all week because of it -BUT- I'm good now!

Anyways we are...what.....20 days since the flip to 12/12. They're starting to show some beautiful flowers  one of the Silver Lotus tops is getting dangerously close to the hood, but it's not hot right under it at all. I'll most likely end up pulling that branch back a little anyways though to prevent any stress.

One thing I think I'll do different next round is start the seedlings, let them get about 6" tall & flower them. Once they show sex, kill the males & re-veg for a while. That way I can get them to grow UP to the screen instead of plopping the screen right on top of them. It will be much easier to maintain an even canopy too. They were too tall to start the scrog off, but I still think they're doing pretty well!

One thing I'm uncertain of though...I want to trim some of these damn leaves but I don't want to cut too many, or the wrong ones. I'm always very hesitant lol. Is it bad for a specific branch to lose too many leaves, or is it still OK as long as the plant itself still has decent foliage? For example, I don't want to cut too many leaves from the upper parts of the tops & those tops suffer, or don't get as large, because of it.

Happy growing everyone!
