I don't know if I'm just hyper sensitive or what, but seeing these little babies going through seizures chokes me up big time.
The cancer benefits are great, but without "real"studies backing it up, it could backfire. People might blow it off as nonsense without a slick looking Dr saying it's truth.

if Walter Cronkite was still announcing & was pro-weed, it would have already been legalized. as it is, no 5 or 10 people in the news industry have the collective respect that he enjoyed from the American people. when Walter spoke, folks nodded their heads & said "damn straight!"

Me too dude. That's why I liked the youtube better, I could just pause it and blow my nose. I started crying when I first heard about all those kids getting gunned down at Sandy Hook too. I thought what a damn wimp, but I have seen some real shit and it never effected me that way. Then I saw Obama weeping when he was addressing the nation about it so didn't feel quite so stupid.

But my impression is that Gupta is gonna tow the party line. He knows who ultimately pays him and controls everything, including the fucking federal government. It's big money and that means big Pharma. So the feds can remove it from Sched. I, can make own med rules including penalties for growing, and that keeps all those people happy. Big Pharma will still profit, jails can still hold growers, less bitching from sick people, the list goes on. But all us home-growers will still be breaking the law while still producing a way better product so we can treat ourselves.

I suppose when all that shit about medical they are playing at is said and done, the only real way is total legalization like CO did.

Focusing on helpless children is a GREAT way to get the public's attention but...

I'd really love to see part 3 focus on cancer and maybe have Rick Simpson on the show as well as cancer survivors who have followed his lead...

Rick Simpson, well intentioned as he might be, is NOT a good advertisement for medical weed. There have been too many fake claims for a cure for cancer. Real science is required, not some guy with a jug of paint thinner.

I leaked some tears for the little kids too. I have some idea of what they are going through as I have epilepsy and know what seizures are about. They have it much worse than me though. Almost constant seizing like that is ultimately a death sentence. Without Cannabis those kids would not survive.

So you don't believe cannabinoid medicine can cure cancer? There is plenty of real science out there that shows cannabinoids effects on cancer cells. I know Rick Simpson is not really the greatest person to have on the show to prove cannabis is medicine but he known world wide for devoting his life to cannabis medicine. The reason i brought him up is that he has opened more people's eyes to the proper way to use cannabis as medicine than anyone else i can think of...

I think everyone here knows Rick Simpson is a great guy and has helped many people. However, his method is a little unrefined. Like: "just eat a bunch of oil everyday, and you'll probably get better". And the funny thing is, it probably actually works for most of his patients. I think for the blind masses, he would come off a little too much like a snake oil salesman. I doubt anyone on this forum feels that way, but we're talking about regular folks, that have been taught all their lives that this an evil plant that will "make you go insane and want to have sex with a negro"...or something like that!
America's acceptance of this wonderful flower is a delicate thing. It could all crumble with one wrong step.

I am not a "believer" in anything if I can avoid it. I prefer evidence and scientific fact.

From what I know Cannabis does have a positive effect on cancer. The reports of a "cure" I think are credible but to a doctor or researcher they are not valid evidence. The serious research done is surely suggestive but cancer is a complex creature and lots more work needs to be done.

This is the case for just about all medical claims for Cannabis. We have lots of lab rat studies and petrie dish experiments, often using synthetic Cannabinoid analogues. What we are missing are broad based field testing under controlled conditions. These kinds of studies are missing because the law directs research only to proving the harm of Cannabis. Politics trumps science.

I think Rick Simpson has done a notable service by spreading the cure but his methods are flawed, possibly dangerous and are bad advertising for Cannabis among scientific and political people. They are the one's (like Gupta) who need to have their eyes opened. True "believers" for just about anything are worthless in my opinion.

Its Rick Simpson's idea's rather than his exact methods is the reason i brought him up. You people get so nit-picky on this shit....

The fact that consuming cannabis or cannabis concentrates rather than just smoking it is the reason why Rick special. Hes not the first, he didn't have the best evidence, he didn't teach us the best techniques, but he devoted his life to what he believed in and made it common knowledge within our community that consuming cannabinoids shows amazing potential to treat many conditions...
