Bagseed grow

it might be an indica or it could be something else I had 3 seeds in the bag but not sure if they were all the same. Popped above soil last night with no shell and it was all white. Today is 90 but next three days will be in 40's so will bring them inside under a couple fluoros. After that back up to 70's & 80's and will stay outside. Organic MG Garden Soil with regular perlite and distilled water but switching to RO.

Nice starts you have there! I have found some gold in bag seeds and always enjoy the mystery.

90?? Man I have 20 degrees, 40mph winds, and snow. Wanna trade? :)

Best of luck to your grow!

Whats the reason from switching from distilled to RO? ..

Dang I love sprouts.. :) I never get tired of looking at them...

Distilled is all they had at the dollar store but I just needed the jugs. They have RO fill up stations all over the place here for a quarter a gallon. I'm really low on bagseeds need to go hunt for more my current brickweed seeds aren't growers unfortunately but the weed is nice. did you hear rick perry said on kimmel Texas might decriminalize in January? Hopefully they let my future seed orders come thru! Lester Beans the weather here I feel is a blessing sometimes just need more rain in those long summers.

Oh.. filtered tap water works just fine for soil grows for me, I dont know how your water quality is. Mebby RO is the way to go for you.

Other than that, any strategy to get more females?.. I see you only popped 3.

only 1 of the 3 grew. i have another plant that took forever to sprout and is small but growing that one is with unfiltered tap water not let to sit out. You reminded me I have to put some more seeds in water thanks. only about 14 old bagseeds left. Might have to try online seedbanks soon. I want wappa from paradise seeds most unique high i've had.

I say pop em all.. :) thats just me. 50% chance of having girls. Soo... increase your chances. Old bagseed has low germ rates.. so..

Wappa.. looks like an interesting indica... What a chunky looking girl. :)

it makes you feel like a psych doctor or something lol... so nice.. introspective the one i had tasted just like those little pumpkin candies you know which ones??

This is old news now but I tried my best to follow these guidelines with my current plant cause I only had one sprout. Dutch passion released an essay about increasing female to male ratios in 2008 I think.

1.) Level of nitrogen and potassium of the seedbed: A heightening of the standard level of nitrogen makes for more female plants originating from the seeds. A lowering of the nitrogen level shows more male plants. A heightening of the level of potassium tends to show more male plants, while a lowering of the potassium level shows more female plants. A combination of a higher nitrogen level for the period of a week or two and a lowering of the potassium level is recommended.
2.) Humidity and moistness of the seedbed: a higher humidity makes for an increase in the number of female plants from seed, a lowering for an increase in male plants. The same is valid for the moistness of the seedbed.
3.) Level of temperatures: lower temperatures make for a larger number of female plants, higher temperatures for more male plants.
4.) Colour of light: more blue light makes for more female plants from seed, more red light makes for more male plants.
5.) Hours of daylight: few hours of daylight (e.g. 14 hours) makes for more female individuals, a long day (e.g. 18 hours) makes for more male plants. *

I still say I got lucky that the one seed that popped ended up female but I did my best to follow these guidelines. Good to know anyway.

Wish you luck man! I am just learning so all my stuff is bagseed. I'm on my second run now and I'm freaking ecstatic so far. I hope it works out the same for you.

Not threadjacking... so OP .. forgive me. ;)

I've tried this on standard seeds many times.. seems to help.. It so frustrating to get more than 50% males...

I run under 18/6 MH bulb, Mist a few times a day/foliar feed with water with a little bit of GH Micro or any high nitrogen fert, organic if ya have it.. Just a little bit to give the foliar feed some color, you should be running high N in veg phase anyways so dont get carried away.

So.. that meets the High N/High RH/Blue light conditions, and dont forget to keep it cool. Off the top of my head I think I got 80% fem rate.

Thanks for the advice. The soil has a good amount of N and when the plant gets bigger I'm going to give some stuff called John's Recipe its from Austin has humic acid, fish emulsion, seaweed, molasses, medina soil activator and a couple other goodies in it. its like 3-1-2 or something like that. Weird thing is that I've always had good female ratios with bagseeds. My first harvest was 5/5 females bagseed ( grown in half gallon pots filled with plain dirt from the corn field)

Seems like slow growth for it being a month old. Have they been outside or in. Its pretty early sun right now. Don't know what your setup is, but some more light one way or the other would help your plants get going. They may just be slow starters also. Are you planning on doing any sort of training? I like to start when they are young like that. It seems to encourage growth IMO, and helps thicken the stalk early on.

What kind of training should I do? I remember when I was younger I used to pinch the stems but I don't remember when or how to do that anymore...
