STRAWBERRY COUGH -- D.P. VS DINAFEM

Hi there to all the comunity,

I'm posting this here , but i don't know if this is the right place (too many category in this nice site )

But i was looking at this strain and i was intencioned to try from a long time ago the D.P version of strawberry, but now iv seen that also dinfem has released a version of that strain....soo... the discussion is about wich is the best or at least the original.

I conclude telling you that dinafem never disappointed me with their strain, instead i was very disappointed with just one seed from D.P.
that was the Origianl Blue Barry....they wrote that is 80% indica instead iv got 3 nice pheno all sativa lined up..soo...

still don't know wich to pick

Last year I grew some DP and some Dinafem strains and overall was rather disappointed with DP but the Dinafems were great. Notably, I had the Strawberry Cough from Dinafem and I LOVE THAT STRAIN! According to Dinafem it is an offspring of the original from Kyle Kushman (there are quite a few threads about that on ICMag).
BUT Dinafem does joint-ventures with DP and/or uses sometimes their genetics... whatever that means LoL.

Here's a citation from my post in the Dinafem strain thread:

The Strawberry had an extremely strong, lovely floral smell during growth and till mid flowering. Though, the dried buds smell not too strong but nice and natural . The plant grew rather light, nicely branched, and with many small but dense buds. Flowering started late (8. Sept.) and harvest was the 2. Nov. (@46°N). The smoke is nothing to cough, just nice and the high is really lovely, happy, equilibrated rather active but not racing. Though higher doses lead to a rather exhausting, slow decreasing wear-out.

I also had the DP Blueberry, was a rather weak plant in the beginning, never turned blue/purple/whatever not even when the last branches I left on froze to death. Also, there was not even a hint of berry smell or taste neither on the plant nor after a long cure. High is ok but way below the hype in terms of quality and potency.

So I chose to go with newer/smaller breeders and landraces for the coming season .

Why don't you get a seed of both? @ Dinafem you can buy a single seed of both versions!

becouse i dont like to get it at my name and at my adress and also leave trace of payment ...you never know ...im buyng that from a reseller and they dont give 1 seed to the reseller.. and also this year im tryng out the ak 47 from seriuos so its a lot of moncey compare to that but yes that will be the the coolest way to test it out..also becous if DP gonan fail i think i will not choosing them for a little bit of time.... just becouse im tryng new stuff around (also NL of sensi seed)

Might want to look into some Strawberry Diesel (KK's Strawberry Cough x Sour Diesel). Tried some recently and it was superb. Had lemony dank tones to go along with the strawberry flavor. Really good strong high.

SC is some damn fine ganga. Thanks for the Dina fem tip. I want to try it and see how close it is. I have had DP SC and its good, just isn't the same.

Don't know if DP is going downhill, I used to grow their powerplant and I liked it alot... great for both in and outdoor, but those F1 seeds were also grown more than 10 years ago. A lot may have happened since then.

Now I'm waiting for some Dinafem Strawberry Cough to arrive as we speak... this thread just confirmed my initial intuitions about this strain. Should be a very nice daytime smoke.

I would go with the Dinafem Strawberry over DP's any day.

I have a pack of DP's straw cough that ive been sitting on for a while now. Cant seem to bring myself to start them though, because of several other bad experiences with this company. After my attempts with their Purple #1 and Flo all having hermies or a poor finished product, I don't think ill be trying anything else from DP for a while.

I tried Sagamartha's Straw D-lite, and currently keeping a nice strawberry smelling pheno. Just wish it had a sweeter strawberry taste to go with that great smell it has. The other pheno I had was way more Diesel like, kind of airy budded and no strawberry smell. My other experience with Sagamartha was with there blueberry. Unfortunately, I had an accident early on with the babies and only ended up with two plants. One had an amazing structure for a plant, but not a good finished product, with no berry smell. The other one I thought was a female for a week or two, then one day decided it wanted to get some balls too, so was cut down immediately.

For my next attempt at finding the perfect strawberry, I will be doing some Strawberry Cough from Hazeman.

I actually just got done making a bunch of KKSC S1's. I will be testing them soon and if they perform, I will donate a few packs to the bay.

Hazeman got a Strawberry Cough. BOG got Sour Strawberry Kush also. Probably better quality than DP or Dinafem. Good luck!!
