Can you see CBD?

I have a clone of canatonic that I feel I can visibly see the CBD.

let me explain, I got a clone with a sample years ago now. The sample was the most amber bud I've seen that wasn't old as dirt. Like every trich was amber and you can see it with the your eye. No magnification...

When I started growing it I was expecting it to look like everything else and just have cbd in it. Well, that was not the case.

From day one it looked different. Like the mom and subsequent clones and vegging plants were the most indica plants I've ever seen. Like with the smallest roundest leaves that you would expect from some landrace hash plant. That was the first thing.

Then came the smell. It smelled exactly like agent orange or jilly bean, which I now know are stolen from the oregon skunk. That being said, I have never seen a strain with that smell except this one and those 2 from TGA.

Now I have seen seen several canatonics and other high CBD strains since getting this and I have not noticed any similarities to my cut no matter what the genetics. So im wondering if anybody else has noticed something similar with a cbd strain.

So when I could smell it, and the resin started gathering in the trichs, the strangest thing of all happened. At less than 4 weeks, while still developing, the trichs all turned amber. And continued to get darker until the end. It made sense why the sample I got was so dark brown. Like I said naked eye, no loupe required to see this amber. i would like to hear what you guys think...

oh yeah, it's the biggest, densest plant, and highest yeilding that I may have ever had. I haven't done any trees to see how that works, but I have been getting 8oz off small plants no problem

amber is a degradation of the thc and other cannabinoids. Was probably some very sleepy stuff, no?

Your grow method may have been low on boron. Did you get the same results with this plant each time and did you try different nutrients or soil mixes?

That's what I mean. I got it from another grower, and i grew it inside multiple times and outside and it turns amber right away. Maybe Ill get it tested at the point where I can smell it and see what the ratio is at that point. I heard that breeders will get male and female tops in various stages of flowering tested to see the ratios and to test for high CBD specimens.

TheCleanGame- have you ever tried cbd rich cannabis? If you are in colorado I
m sure its everywhere. Id like to get a cut of the Charlottes Web... try cbd rich (13:1 or 20:1) and then try 1:1 cbd:thc

I feel very affected by the cbd but not euphoric. It doesn't make you sleepy, its quite the opposite. IMO the people who say it does nothing are just trying to get high because the experience of me smoking canatonic for the first time was so profound, it was almost like the first time I got high. You feel it everywhere in your body, its like what you have felt the whole time without the euphoria. I have patients that will choose to use it over thc because they have jobs etc

I have Harlequin but it's only 8% CBD and 6% THC. There's no inebriation from it. Just relaxation, pain relief, memory improvement, focus improvement, mood improvement, nightmare cessation, removal of social anxiety and on and on and on.

Great stuff. I'd like to get a few more high CBD strains for sure. :)

Interesting, do you think the presence of cbd negates or evens out the thc? or 6% isnt enough to feel it? It seems to me I could get off on 6% if i consumed enough, especially if eaten.

SoHum seeds has tons of good high cbd strains. They have super geneitics i would definitly try them if i was looking for some high cbd seeds

Does anybody know what the lineage is on the Cannatonic? or the Harlequin?

I have heard that hemp contains higher concentrations of cbd. I got a strain called star of peter. supposed be an industrial hemp strain yeilding 3:1 over other hemp strains. I cant wait to crack all these new seeds I have,

Has anybody tried popping hempseeds or hemp bird seeds from the supermarket? Theres gotta be a viable one eventually if you try enough... I know poppy seeds that they sell at home depot don't make opium are hemp seeds the same or are they sterilized?

A friend of mine from the other site is currently operating Project Storm whereby he is traveling the UK dispensing cannabis oil with a 1:1 thc/cbd ratio and he is interested in high CBD strains.
The Harlequin and Charlottes Web would be of great interest to him

There is a 23%cbd cutting dubbed cannatonic x that is around that i can't get my hands on.

Does anybody know the lineage on the charlottes web?

Yes, it seems to counteract the THC quite well. Considering most commercial cannabis strains have 3% CBD (rare) or less, you're probably not exposed to much CBD at all. 6% is normally enough, when the CBD levels are below that. :)

Higher cbd than the THC in it... yes. Most hemp has so little thc in it that the amount of CBD isn't much either. That's changing with growing awareness but still in its infancy.

hmm I heard the ac/dc around here which is a 1:1 is heavily medicating.

I wonder if some strains are heavily medicating at 1:1 depending on terpenoid profile or other cannabinoid profile; where some strains are not heavily medicating at 1:1. ie both strains are 7% thc and 7% cbd

Also I wonder if CBD strains will have different cannabinoid profiles than thc rich strains.

very interesting

I just learned that the "charlottes web" is a re-naming of a local colorado springs strain called r4.

Does anybody have any info on the r4? Maybe just a seed that did well and they kept it?

They did sell seeds of this r4 f1 but they say they have no plans of seeding projects and obviously no cuts get out

I have c4 from norcal I'm sure its no relation

I'm also very interested in your questions. I would love to find a source for a few reliable R4 seeds. Doesn't seem that the stanley bros are interested in giving their "charlottes web" genetics to anyone who isn't on CNN with them.

In norcal there are a few spots that give away clones of selected high cbd genetics, fwiw.

if you need some more info pm me

r4 is available at greenwerkz in co. springs. They say they have had it for years and supposedly the charlottes web guys shared a grow space and stole this clone and simply renamed it. Just heresay but who knows...

Thanks for the tip! I have harle-tsu high cbd and ac/dc 20:1 from herban legend and ac/dc 1:1 from harborside:dance013:

Nobody has similar experience with being able to see the CBD (ie the amber) early on in flowering?

I know this clone isn't the only one that does it.

I would be interested to see if the High THC seeds from the same cannatonic exhibit the same ambering early on.

I have a Sweet and Sour Widow grown from seeds I got from the High CBD Crew in Northern Cal. I have noticed a tendency towards amber trichs as well. My last run at 8 weeks was very amber and got very sleepy as the cure developed. Yes you can visually see these giving the entire bud a reddish/orange tint. I have not had this cut tested but plan to. Im pretty sure cannatonic is somewhere in its lineage.
The bud is so oily that it sticks to your hands months after curing. It reminds me a lot of weed from the old days when a lot of strains did that. When you walk into a room of this being smoked it takes me back. Almost as if the smell Im remembering was actually a higher concentration of CBD. Very old school smell to me.

I would like to see a strain that high in CBD and THC.. 10% or higher for CBD and 15% or higher for Thc. Wouldn't this be the best of both worlds ???
