Going to be vegging them in Canna Coco using Coco A and B.

Hopefully this solves the problems I've been having with bricked coco.

RO is not a perfect world either....at least my experience. Been getting better with it lately and i think with a tip from Hugh may have it worked out. At least in veg anyway :)

I dumped 5 bills on HL evolution as i cant stand waiter for the smaller ones to filter the water. I works great but stupid expensive even when internet shopping and black friday sale discount.

Wish you good luck. Im going to move some moms i am starting in some coco tonight as to cut down on the soil lugging

You're not alone Catatafish.

I'm thinking a out using RO or Distilled water as I've heard the Coco A and B contains enough calcium/magnesium but I'm not sure.

This was my experience. I had issues when I used canna A + B with Cal/Mag..As soon as stopped the Cal/Mag and went straight A+B everything got nice and green. Now Im using Hydroponic Reasearch Veg + Bloom and having better results at less than half the price. No Cal Mag. Im using RO in bloom but my tap is 230 ppm and I am starting to use it in veg. so far so good, it all depends on what is in your tap water.

I felt left out of the FL crew thread going on here....

Glad to know im not teh only one with shitty 300pm high ph water.

depending on grow style i've seen some swamp grows come out pretty damn good with our water 275,300 ppm.i'm thinkin of doin 1 pot of coco with straight tap to see what the haps is.I like splitting my tap though so i don't have to mess with ph as much.

I've always grown using my tapwater (16 years).Check my last grow (first vert grow) in my sig below.I was using FFOF and lucas formula with GH Floramicro and Florabloom with no additives.

Here's a sample shot, but much more porn in the thread/diary.

Hugh, slight improvment with one of the plants in a 3 gallon coco hempy.

Still waiting for roots to show on the cuttings in rapid rooters...should be just a few more days, then I'll transplant the clones to small peters pots of canna coco and begin feeding with 2ml each of coco a and b per gallon of water.

I'll get some pics up sometime tonight.

Nope, just adjusted pH as close between 5.5 and 6.0 as I could using pH down and my GH pH test drops.

Feed is kept around 800 ppm/1.6 EC.

sounds lke your on the path bro, looking it too. yeah, fl dankster is right, I don't know any growers that use ro, just tap. never had any problems from it and my nugs are fire to me. ro would be a last resort only if my tap was just too much, like in 4 to 500 ppm range, mine is around 300 here and 280 the last place I lived and I've always used tap. we even have chloramine in it and the plants LOVE it. hell try drinking some ro and see how good it tastes lol, if there is 0 ppm water in nature I'd like to see the source. I thought the reason for using it was to be able to feed a little more than you would with tap or again if your tap is completey shitty

Yea i think the chloramine is good for hydro style setups.

I was looking at some rez clean / sterile type products and some that were supposed to work good have chloramine in them i noticed on the msds/ingredients list.

I was wondering if its possible to source chloramine as i dont think it bubbles out like chlorine/bleach. Use for keeping dead rez/sterile.

Never really dug to far yet.

its chlorine and ammonia not sure on the ratios though. I read that it changes the molecular structure of chlorine so that it can't evaporate out of the water. if you can't find any i'll sell you some tapwater cheap:biggrin:

Some of the clones I took have rooted and I'm sure the others aren't far behind...

So four of the seven cuts have rooted (I'm sure the other three aren't to far behind) and I transplanted them into small pots of Canna Coco and watered/fed with 2ml each of Coco A & B per gallon of water and pH'd between 5.5 and 6.0

Now the waiting game will be played while they veg out and we'll see if my problems I was having with the bigger/older plants that were/are in GH coco that came from bricks were just because of poor coco etc.

I'll update in another week.

What kind of GH bricks? I'm using GH Cocotek 5Kg blocks. Stuff tested fine when I hydrated it- no salts. Looks good so far. My buddy has been using these GH Cocotek blocks for years with no problems.

The smaller GH cocotek bricks. After hydrating with 300ppm tap water ppm's were insanely high like 1400ppm!
