Hello all,

"I awoke last night to the sound of thunder
How far off I sat and wondered
Started humming a song from 1962
Ain't it funny how the night moves
When you just don't seem to have as much to lose
Strange how the night moves
With autumn closing in"

I remember. ah I remember, remember, remember...oh how the night moves and I remember.

He's been mentioned before, but somehow keeps magically re-appearing!

I remember the threat of imminent Nuclear War with the USSR who had snuck a bunch of Nuclear missiles into Cuba. Going to school and having daily practice on how to survive. If we saw a real bright flash through the windows we were to immediately hide under our desks. So at times during the day the teacher would yell BOMB and we would dive under the desks. All the parents were either building bomb shelters or talking about it. The ONLY news was news of Nuclear War and then Kennedy gave the Russians the choice of removing the Nukes from Cuba or All Out Nuclear War. Those were the worst days- waiting. It sure was a beautiful sight to see on TV the Russians load the missiles on ships and turn tail for home.
I still can't believe they convinced me I could survive a nearby Nuclear explosion by hiding under my school desk:biggrin:

Anyone remember "Cal Worthington and his dog(which was a longhorn bull) spot"??
Car salesman out of California. Hell, I even remember the damn song that went along with the comercial.

Bruja

It's kind of hard not to remember Cal- his dog spot and the song "Go see Cal". Especially seeing how it's only been 5 months since Cal died and they finally quit showing them dumb commercials on TV  September 8, 2013 is when him, spot and the commercials died.

real thai stick , and old time lumbo , was better than 99% of todays super hyped strains , most of the cannabis today is about sales and not potency .

I saw him back in '78 or '79. Good times. One of the few concerts I went to when I was young. Just didn't have the money for that sort of thing or I thought it was too expensive... Missed a lot of good bands in the '70s with that lame attitude...

I've never had anything like it since but I think in the 70's the super good thai stick was coated with opium. At least the time or two I got it, it was or it was a dead ringer. That shit is wicked potent .... it was unbelievably potent.

I remember in grade school, a few cops coming by each classroom and showing us all drug paraphernalia. Not realizing they were educating 4th & 5th graders what to look for in their older siblings drawers/closets, where ever they thought it could be found at home!
Also remember those stupid cops lighting a little brick of weed so we could know what Cannabis smelled like if we were ever around it! GAWD!! That makes me laugh now!!!

Ha, we were walking down Boston on Friday night around 1968 adn two of us went to The Doors show at Boston Arena for $3.50. And one friend went home alone on the subway as it was too expensive. Wot??
