Hi guys,
i grow indoor for the first time, i'm living in the north of Italy so quite cold weather right now.
My setup:
Grow: SJ 60x60x170
Substr: Superior Ugro Coco
Lights: CFL phytolite 250w 6400K
Neon 2x55W 2x6400/2x2700
Fertiliz for Veg:Canna Cocco A+B
Co2:1 bag Exhale

Strains & Tech:
Technique: SCROG
2 x Chronic Seriuos seed
2 x Critical Jack Dinafem

For the FLO period:
- CFL cultilite 2x150W 2100K
- Neo, same of Veg
Fert: Canna boost+canna pk +Ghe ripen for the last week

My girls were born: 13/01/2014
Fimmed: 31/01
Hope to switch Flo on 17th so after 5 weeks of veg.

Now the are about 30cms tall.
The Scrog net has been applied and start to stress them 7 days ago.
Till Now all seems fine, any suggestion is welcome, really appreciated.

The really big problem here is the cold.
I'm in veg 18/6
Using CFL during the night i can keep 19-21° but when they are switched off the temperature degrees till 2-5* so i started to use an infrared Lamp (150W) the one i use to get puppies warm. With infrared i get the 13-17°

Does anyone knows if the infrared spectrum could damage the grow process?
when i start the Flo period i'm in doubt if i still use the infrared or left my girls completely in the dark with 5°-10° compared the 19-21° were the lights are switched on. If infrared spectrum does not damage them i could use the infrared 24h so keeping the 25-26° when cfl are ON and 13-17° when they are off.

Any suggestion is welcome

I will post a pic of 10 days ago and send you new ones in the next days.

infrared might make your ladies stretch more
i am not entirely sure how it will affect the genetics, you might have to consider
getting herms.. but thats not for sure.

you might also have to lower the ph level a little that the plants are able
of ingesting the nutrients..

hope you find some more help here
i am very interested in that topic.

Here my girls now after 34 days of veg.A little bit messy cause it's my first Scrog and seems hard to direct the branches
I'm thinking to go on with another week of grow so to extend to 6 weeks the growing period before start the Flo.

Keep you updated!

the reason most people use CFL's is to keep the heat DOWN. If it was me, I would ditch the wasted infrared lamp and use that electricity on actual light the plants can use. A 150w-250w metal halide is going to grow better buds than a CFL any day of the week. (IMO) Far better penetration..

At night, get a small space heater and put it on a timer. That way the electricity used during lights on is actually going into the plants instead of being wasted to heat

As in the Pict
I stopped to fix the branches to the net but i do not know if it is right.
I tried to put any branch to a net hole but it seems a little bit messy

Do i still fix the branches for al flow time long?
I've read many times the scrog manual but i didn't understand exactly.

it is coldest at night, when you most need the heat but doesn't it create 'light' ? at night.. 12/12 + light at night = hermes. the gils don't like light when they are photosynthesizing, they get cornfused.. and grow balls.

Thanks to all to the advices.

@Snook: I though it was me to fix the photosynthesis, i mean, they stay in a growroom, during the day they have complete dark, and during the night they have the 12h of light. Ok there's something innatural thinking at the natural flow of the plants but, using the dark room i thought it was me to set everything.
Hope to have females! we will se i will keep you updated!
Thanks for all

I am saying that any generated light during the dark period might cause hermes. and yes, you are god 'in their world'.

as far as I know, its the red spectrum that effects flowering.. so I am GUESSING that it will not harm the flowers at night time.

good luck

First, be sure it is worth the generated wattage cost.

Then cover the light so it just heats....like foil.

There are many bulbs and aluminum fixtures used to heat chicken brooders, that is what you want.

Monitor the temps and use a timer to accomplish your goal.

It will work...
