Heyyy Ron!!,
Thanks!! I actually use coco, and soil as the medium. I will use the MB when I use coco. I do pH. I usually cut the nutes out a few weeks before chop, I will do the same with the MB. Thank you very much! I have a few with coco in solo cups, I will get some maxibloom for them. Thanks again
Thanks Ass! Lol

Man.....I was just rolling this here joint....and was thinking...

I remember when I thought I was the shit because I could grow a little bud for 8 weeks and then cut it down. The truth is...when it comes to growing (and most other things in my life) I'm a bonified nitwit. This thread is so true to the hobby grower. Whether you use maxibloom or FNB or Ionic....these one part nutes really save a dumbfuck like me so much time, effort and headache. Just wanted to shout out the KISS method I guess. Here's to simple.

from a fellow bonified nitwit, you said it all, man.

I use MB from seedling to flower. I cut it down to 3.5g/gal for seedlings until they have a few sets of leaves. I slowly stop feeding in the last few weeks. I dont really buy into the flushing for taste thing, I just think its a waste of nutrients.

I also use coco and am of the opinion that if you aren't growing organically, soil is a poor choice.

Coco is simple. You have control of precisely what goes into your plants. This is why MB is perfect. It has everything the plants need.

So you have coco which has no nutrients and MB which has everything the plants need. Mix them together and viola!

Not to mention coco has superior drainage, oxygen holding capacity, cleaner (IMO), less bugs (IME) and it can be watered like soil.

I have never seen truly white roots until I went to coco...growing out from the top of the pot!

If using coco or MB in general, I would def have some sort of pH up. It brings my tap water way into the 4's. I have used DynaGro "Protekt" and GH pH up.

Wait. What was the question? ;)

How often are you feeding just water or checking runoff in your Coco?

well got the maxibloom and find that i am getting some quite high EC readings - 1.7 from quite low dosages - 4gram/gal. i am growing in coco DTW and the plants look okay just a bit stretched and pale looking. i have a bluelab truncheon and my water registers around .2 EC the lowest reading the truncheon gives.

i feel if i go up to 7gr/gal then my EC will be too high...so any thoughts/suggestions?

I ran it a couple runs and always just used the small end of the spoon. With a starting ec of .25 I would get ~1.7 if I added 1tsp/gal.

I was hoping for a bit more input, but did get a helpful pm…cheers

So after starting on 1.7 EC I boosted it up to 1.9 and within a day or two saw a marked improvement in plant colour…cranked it up 2.1 and that deep lush green colour was achieved…I did also get a very slight tip burn, so dropped it back to 2. The plants have reacted well to this level so will maintain for now. I did also hit with a 1 EC mix of cal/mag/iron booster that may have helped….with an EC of 2 I am at 95% full strength (7/Gal)

Overall working at 2 EC is somewhat out of my comfort zone as in the past I maintained a 1.2 – 1.4 level with excellent results growing in a variety of styles including DTW, DWC/SWC and reticulation systems…

I have always used just the teaspoon provided, with no issues. Also use Florilicious+ with it. Humic acid & sea kelp. Some strains are nute hogs, so your mileage may vary.

I use 800 PPMs, but raise it a bit as plants get larger, if I'm growing trees. Also raise it in flower, as I add Bloombastic (I know, not really KISS if you start adding stuff, but I always experiment, and keep what works for me) It's strain dependent. I should also point out that I use triacontanol, a growth hormone. You can get it cheaply @ MBFerts.com. Really works. Read up on it.

This is the best grow store on the planet. They have generic versions of every snake oil out there, so maybe not appropriate for this thread. :)

Thanks for this link RG :tiphat: I took your advice on the triacontanol (great price). At what point do you add this?
thanks

thanks for that, so a .7ppm conversion rate which = 1.14 EC...wow that is a low level compared to where mine sits at...and your plants look fine? i might have to play with my levels if you get good results sitting that low...

Don't want this to turn into an ad but floranova has some kind of chemical ph buffer, and so far I haven't changed my rez water, so my kiss method is just pouring in a generous amount of nutes in my rez and looking at plants lol

FloraNova® represents a breakthrough in fertilizer technology. FloraNova gives users both the strength of a dry concentrate and the ease of a liquid. This unique formulation of highly purified minerals and natural additives combines the benefits of both organic and soilless gardening methods. Optimum nutrient absorption is aided by natural humic extracts for increased quality and superb yields. FloraNova is a one part formula that is pH stabilized and outstanding for all plant types.

• Designed to work in Coco, Hydroponics, Soilless and Soil.

• Use Liquid KoolBloom and Floralicious Plus with FloraNova for increased flower production.

Remember that due to its high concentration, FloraNova must be shaken vigorously before each use!

If I wanted to use Floranava instead of Maxibloom, which bottle should I go for? I think liquid would be better for me... Thanks
