DIY Material Options

Hey all.

I'm in socal and I want to get a lil 10x10 greenhouse put up. The plan is to frame it with 2x4's and seal it off airtight.

I wouldn't feel all that confident with 100% clear but I have seen some relatively clear plastics on greenhouses that can't really be seen through. The wind can pickup around here so I was also thinking of solid walls -- I've heard solarsoft is the best, but I was also considering just using the smoke colored plastic panels everyone around here uses as drip trays/gutters.

What are the best materials options and where can I buy them?

Airtight? That would be a hot mother unless you put in some AC. Or am I misreading the airtight term?

Air tight ain't good unless you want a visit from the Pm angel ...?

Build it clear and suit it to your needs with a can of well aimed spray paint ...?

If I owned my own property out in the country side I would build a stealth greenhouse with solexx panels and carbon filtration and grow some monsters. I live in Europe. No big problems with helicopters or planes.

Do a search on here there was a ICMAG member that made a stealth greenhouse. Real nice setup. My opinion. Greenhouses draw so much attention. A building that looks like a workshop with a solexx roof would work great if set up properly.

I will see if I can find the link to the stealth greenhouse thread.

You're going to want film that specifically made for greenhouses if going the poly route.
I paid 60 for a 12x25 ft roll. Not bad imo as it is guarantee to last 4 years and 8 if you maintain it regularly .
