I am a biker by heart and my plan was to ride to mexico this summer. the wife don't want to go there yet--next year. my plan was to ride Colorado and west of the Mississippi R next year when I will be able to get the over 62 park pass. we are campers. so this year we're loading up our Miata and coming to Colorado to ride the motorcycle roads and camp. that being said, I'd like to buy an oz of good stuff while there but not from a dispensary. I do want to buy a dispensary t shirt any chance of someone helping me out, both with the oz and a good place to camp in July?

There are lots of dispensaries all over the state where you can buy cannabis from if you are over 21…weedmaps and leafly are both good resources to find a recreational dispensary while you are here.

You are gonna love Colorado in the summer! It’s beautiful.
There is an amazing botanical garden in Denver, I highly recommend you visit. I would suggest going to some of the websites for CO tourism and getting more ideas; however, you must make sure to hit 24 south, (near Vail on I-70), heading through Ledville, follow 24 all the way down to 82, which will take you back up through Aspen, SnowMass and Carbondale and will take you back up to I-70 near Glenwood Springs. It’s beautiful in the summer, there are plenty of places to camp and the weather is exceptional that time of year. If you like beer, there are piles of awesome breweries throughout our state.

camp in July?

Anyplace above 9,000 feet elevation has a chance of getting snow in early July. The 4th of July campground high above Nederland is notorious for snow on the 4th of July. Even without snow it will be cold at night in the summer at high elevations. One 4th of July we were hiking up there around 12,000 - 12,500 feet and had to come back down as there was still 4 feet of snow on the ground July 4th.

The Maroon Bells - Snowmass wilderness area, there is a highway loop - Route 285 out of Denver or Route 24 from I-70 to Route 82 over Independence Pass thru Aspen to Glenwood Springs. The loop of R-133 and R-50 around the West Elk Wilderness area / Gunnison is nice. Gunnison can be cold even in early summer. For back country hiking and wilderness beauty it doesn't get any better than the Maroon Bells Wilderness. I've gone in from Aspen, Crested Butte and Marble. Its about a 16 mile walk thru the Maroon Bells wilderness from Crested Butte to Aspen, companies will drive you back and forth.

Rocky Mountain National park is one of the most magnificent wilderness areas in the USA. That's the top place we take visitors for a day trip from Denver the R-72 - R40 / R34 loop is spectacular. R-72 is Peak to Peak Highway one of the most scenic highways in the USA.

In my younger days I used to ride these loops on a bicycle. Now we drive, hike, hot tub and stay in modest hotels.

There are lots of retail stores open and more open every day as they get the paperwork done etc. You need to be 21 or older. In my riding days I got hailed on when I was in the mountains once. I had to pull over as it hurt so bad. That was in July. Anyway try to avoid Denver as the traffic is brutal and they don't watch for bikes. Sounds like you are doing a fine trip.

I'll be 61...just thought, I've kayaked most of the whitewater rivers in the east from west va to Atlanta, all in between...mostly class 4 and below. it would be nice to get my wife into a good whitewater raft trip (though I've never been in a raft). we will be camping out of my Miata but I'm expecting her to want to fly in. we both like to hike, mt bike and stuff but no equipment of any kind except for Tevas. thanks for all the replies and as I learn more about the area, i'll be bugging you again.
