Fuck these things. They used to be right on for me, but if a fresh battery doesn't refresh its damned self, .. I'm over 'em.

Third, what kind is that one you've got in that bag'o salad?
thats a bummer ssilver, i hate when hardware shits out like that... perhaps try contacting the company ( in know that's a shit solution, but ya never know!)

also i m interested wht third coast is using in that bag to achieve the 62%rh, what's that lil brown bag in there
i was gifted some lil thing like that for preserving humidity levels at the htcc as shwag... it worked well but only in a quart jar, anything larger and it didn't do the trick.... also it dried out eventually, or died... got crusty and didn't work...

I'd love some pack like that for curing in say... a 5 gallon bucket.

That hygrometer I use is made by P3 international, cost about $20. Found them on ebay.

Avi, search Boveda 62% and you should find them. I use the large 60 gram for a 3-5 gallon bucket. Can get a box of 12 on Amazon for about 40 bucks.

And yeah, they don't last forever. Once they get dry and hard they're done. They will last for a couple months if kept in an airtight container.:tiphat:

how long have you used that p3 one third?

Now that ya mention it silver, i think i read somewhere that people were only getting like a year or two outta their Calibers so maybe thats it....

Only had the P3 since April. Got one free when I bought my dehumidifier and liked it so I've since bought a few more.

I also have a half dozen of these guys. Made for use in reptile habitats and available in your local pet store. These look a lot like the calibers and may use the same internal components. I've had a few of these die over the years.

Third, with a name like Fluker's, whoda thunk you'd pitch a few over the years.. ;)

Okay, shit. It's time to cook again it looks like. Last batch of 140 cookies is down to the final 10 :(

Because I absolutely abhor this process, I'm thinking of shortcuts. Anyone have any experience using dry sift instead of whole plant material?

I poked around in the cooking forums, but wasn't able to find much. I'm sure posting this same question there would likely get at least more looky-lous, but I'm already standing right here, and that's .. Like.. All the way .. Over.. THERE.

silver, never tried dry sift myself.....always just used trim and a crockpot. i need to find a way to make more at a time though, as i usually only do 1 pound of butter at a time. I literally have about 10 large paper grocery bags full of trim, but i too loathe the process of making butter or QWISO

Dude you need to crawl out of the stone age once in awhile. Dry sift is the best for making butter, or just dropping straight into your favorite treat's recipe

Definitely. I like flash fry it in coconut oil on medium temp for just a few seconds (maybe 10 or so). Then I'll let it cool on very, very low for 5 to 10 minutes, throw it back in the coconut oil jar and VOILA! Coconut oil is solid at room temperature so it's very easy to handle, tastes great, and is as good for you as a refined oil can get.

Then when I sit down to dinner, I set a few bites aside, mix in my oil, eat that first, and wait about 10 - 15 minutes to get at the rest of the meal, just long enough to start digesting. BAM! End of the night!

I could probably get a higher yield if I took more time with it, but for the level of convenience, you can't beat it.

Good call. What seems to be an appropriate dose(isn)?

Finally sat back down to wrap up trimming last night (which didn't exactly happen). Here's what was left after I took the tops out (last round):

Everything looks great my man. Medibles are great and if you have a lot of sugar trim, I'd put some vegetable oil in a crock pot and cook on low heat for 12hrs or so. Strain, put back in same bottle (don't forget to mark it). Put in baked treats..cook in bulk and then freeze cookies or vacuum seal

And of course, you can do exactly the same with some very nice butter..trim, hash or buds.

Crock pot, low heat. I use volcano leftovers too for oil, incredibly weird potent stuff

I like about 1/3g per serving, depending on potency. I usually weigh the hash going in and the coconut oil coming out once it's solidified. I shoot for taking 1g or so of coconut oil to get my 1/3g kief/hash.

One thing to note, if you're going to use coconut oil, once it's solidified, try not to let it get too warm. Otherwise, some of the solids might settle to the bottom and make your doses less uniform.

I used to save my vape'd leftovers, .. and then I got lazy. :) (And then I got a pen and I haven't used my vape since) :D

Good call, thanks! I'm debating - while part of the dry sift approach is "add to recipe, proceed as normal," I also like the idea of having a ready-to-go, slap-it-on-whatever-suffices mix too.

Good thought on not letting it warm up to where it would sort of un-congeal, and possible "settle." Into the freezer it'll go!

Sheez, I though I frick'n hated harvesting...
You my friend are take`n it too the next level !

You ain't lyin' chet! That first 250ish grams took me probably..six hours? Maybe even seven? An efficient trimmer, I am probably not.

The challenge is, WHO HAS THE F*CKIN' TIME (or inclination) TO SIT FOR SEVERAL HOURS?!

Agreed with Mr. D on the dry sift... keep it simple !

Path of least resistance is always my aim

You can save a ton of trim time simply by adding RA to your soil mix - leaves will drop like flies once a colony is established. ;)
