Wonder if the Green Rush can proceed at a voracious clip when the humidity is nearing 100%..???! We're about to see...

I'm cracking up about the Money Guys in suits, from business schools, already lining up to fleece people out of money for top-dollar classes that have no hands-on experience from the "teacher." And as of now, no actual growing information. Being taught by students who took a class, but have never actually touched Fox Farm or Hydroton. These "Instructors" are a whole lot cheaper for the Suited One, than an actual accomplished Grower would be.. Already has 15 sites earmarked for dispensaries and Cultivation centers, wants to corner the market... Wonder if the Feds will make an example of Him. Sometimes, it is not always the safest thing to do - being First..

Here we go.....

Jeff Clemens is in the process of writing a new Medical Cannabis bill for this term. Some of the wording is as follows. This seems to be in preparation of the Amendment getting the necessary votes to be become law in Nov.

Caregivers would be allowed up to 3 patients.
Personal grows would be allowed with up to 8 mature plants and 8 inmature plants.

Hopefully the full bill will be available this next week after submission.

EDIT: These people agree with you..http://spacecoastdaily.com/2013/03/medical-marijuana-in-florida/

Too bad there's no personal growing. Authoritarians hate personal growing. With it, they know they have no control. Without it, they think they have a chance.

That Spacecoastdaily article goes back to early 2013. Jeff Clemens is pretty active on Facebook, and has been a supporter for many years including submitting bills the past 2 or 3 years. Unfortunately all died in committee. More and more politicians are softening their stance on MMJ as election time is near, and the polls are showing the public is becoming more supportive on MMJ and even for outright legalization. The banks are now putting policies into place to work with those involved in the industry. Will we see this in FL this year? I think so and if Clemens bill is not passed, hopefully at least get out of committee and discussed. The financial implications are probably the biggest stumbling block at the State level, they all want a piece of it.

One of the things I don't understand about the MMJ & legalization movement is the perceived desire to re-invent the wheel.

Activists wanting to move forward would do well to copy Colorado's MMJ statues verbatim, changing only the necessary words to talk about their own state. For legalization, do the same with A64 in most places.

They're proven winning formulas for getting enough people onboard to accomplish the desired goal. A64, for example, struck the right balance between disparate interests, put in a little something for everybody, and won.

Always, always, always include personal growing provisions. That's what anchors the whole thing to reality. It's what means that the Feds really can't shut it down, and it means that if the price is too high at the pot shops- fuck 'em- grow your own w/o fear of a bust.

why does everyone keep saying 1250 was shot down and that this is a no grow bill so don't vote yes blah blah blah.?? don't you guys know how to read? this ^^^ clearly says it's the cathy jordan bill 1250 as it always has and it does allow 8plants or 16 plants, the wording is a little shaky. says 8mature and 8seedlings. don't know if they mean each or 8 alltogether seedlings and flowering. and the list of ailments includes "anything debilitating" which is a very loose terminology. so you better goddamn get out there and vote for this bill. do it for cathy jordan at least you selfish pricks.

Yes! 1000 times Yes!

It's pretty easy to register most places, despite efforts by conservatives to lock down the ballot, and if you don't want to deal with a polling place, vote absentee.

They want us to not vote, and have for over 30 years-

I'd vote in a blizzard, just to spite 'em.

I'm not standing up for the conservatives at all by saying this, nor do I mean to digress, but the liberals swing a mighty left punch with a lot of dirty dealing, disinformation from the media, and flat-out lies too. Never forget that all these politicians, left or right, are in bed with each other behind closed doors. And they all work for the MAN!

If you follow the link it is a 2013 bill and died in committee. Thus has no standing for the 2014 session. Jeff Clemens will be submitting a bill similar to SB1250 for the 2014 session.

Sucks its a no grow , but still great progress !

I'm in the dirty south myself . Just one state over and I am stoked !

Hopefully some of the other southern states will ease up on the matter if all goes well

This is awesome

Amendment 2 (petition drive that met the state requirements)will be on the ballot in Nov. SB962 and HB 859 have a boarder scope than the Amendment

SB 962, named The Cathy Jordan Medical Cannabis Act, creates a well-regulated and controlled program that meets the needs of Floridians with chronic health conditions and disabilities t...hat use or can benefit from the use of marijuana for medical treatment without further suffering from our state’s antiquated drug laws. The new program contains protections to ensure public safety while also saving taxpayer dollars.

HB 859, Medical Use Of Cannabis: Authorizes qualifying patient to possess & administer medical cannabis, & possess & use paraphernalia for specified purpose; authorizes patient's caregiver to possess & administer medical cannabis to qualifying patient & to possess & use paraphernalia for specified purpose; provides procedures & requirements thereto;
