Seedlings reaching for the light.

Didn't take long for these little babies to peak out of the dirt and start going for the t5's.

Everything looks good OldSchool! The kids are coming along nicely. :)

I usually top just above the 4th - 6th node depending on what I have planned for the little one. I top lower if I want to flower (fewer, bigger bud branches) and higher if I want to make a momma (more clone sites). Good luck!

Thanks testy! Exactly what I wanted to know. I will be topping at the 4th node and cloning the cut I take. On my way to your thread...

@OLDSCHOOL that's a good book short sweet and to the point! Sick you got it autographed!!! jealous!!

Love it! DJ Short's book and BOG's book, Bonanza of Green, are my favorites. Pretty stoked about having it autographed ha :dance013::biggrin:

Hey OldSchool check out the technique "4 way LST" it is awesome for growing from seed. I started to do it but then it got away from me a little with me scurrying around doing other stuff. Basically you top at the 5th node. Then let it grow out for a while then tie back the third and fourth in a + shape.

After it recovers from this you can top each of these 4 tips and get 8!

BOG's mix

BOG's mix

So I'm reading over Bonanza Of Green and I am so into BOG's genetics that I'm going to pretty much mimic his soil mix. It is so simple and obviously works wonders. Plus... it's Old School.

Bloom
10 gal HFOF - 3 cups blood meal - 2 cups bone meal - 1 gal perelite
Veg - 2 cups blood meal - 3 cups bone meal - 1 gal perelite

Yo OldSchool! I have definitely used the amended organic mixes with success before. Just make sure you give the mix a little time to "cook" if you are using straight peat (Sunshine Mix or Pro Mix) and organic amendments. It took me a run or 2 to figure out the availability rates as the organics break down and become available. You should be alright using Ocean Forest though because it is pretty hot right out of the bag.

I can't remember right off hand, but I used to use one recipe from BurnOne and another from BlazeOneUp on here. Hope I spelled those usernames right. :)

1 more thing... what's up with the Hop Stoopid in that last picture? ;)

TESTY! What up? Reading over BOG's book he amends generic potting soil from Wal-Mart with bone meal, blood meal, and perelite and then feeds with Fox Farm Big Bud in bloom. I'm probably going to dilute his mix using the same amount of bone and blood meal but to 20 gallons of soil, instead of 10.

I'm going to check out those usernames for some more ideas...
I'd like to follows BOG's recipes and have others to reference, as well as experimenting with a few different products.

What's with the Hop Stoopid? COME ON MAN! Yeah I've been drinking again.. Having a beer here and there I love it too much to cut out completely. Favorite beer that Lagunitas makes... ehh maybe "Sucks" is a little better, but the "Hop Stoopid" is killer. Good luck with trimming and things..

Hey guys, wondering if you know of a good PC case micro grow thread where the build was well documented? Trying to help my brother grow a plant under CFL's but don't have TOO much time to be fucking around with it.

No worries bro. I could never cut myself off from the local brews. I always have Lil Sumpin and Sucks in my fridge, and what we like to call Sonoma County Bud Light (Lagunitas IPA) for tourists. Just picked up a growler of Pliny last night from Russian River. I love this place!

Oh yeah, I have never done a PC build. I got nothing on that...

Isn't it great lol? Sonoma County Bud Light! I love it, spoiling the tourists ha! Mmm that makes me wanna go grab a growler..

Might need to do surgery on these Sour Lifesaver seeds... really nervous about it because out of all the seeds I have these are my most precious. I'm going to give water for another day or two and see if it can they can shed their shells on their own.. if not I'll go in with the blade again :good:

What's everyone smokin on?

What's everyone smokin on?

Patiently waiting on my ladies to grow strong roots and then blow up! Getting some new CFL's with a better spectrum, these are a little too yellow. I also have two more t5 tubes.

I'm tokin on this lemon haze! It's got a nice, creeping sativa high. Tastes pretty good, the smell isn't as strong as I'd like. I got spoiled with that gram of Agent Orange I got, that stuff smelled... like an orange.

Surgery.

Surgery.

Finally mustered up the courage to perform surgery on my struggling Sour Lifesaver seedling. It was a success! :dance013:

The rest of the beans germinated successfully and got put into soil an hour ago. 1 Sour Lifesaver and 2 Tahoe Thunders

Anyone have tips on the Sour Lifesaver? These three plants will be receiving the best lighting in the cab to promote fast, bushy growth. I've seen a couple of the grows on here but more Lifesaver runs than Sour Lifesaver. I've read tons of Sour Bubble threads.
