My 1st Grow :) Suggestions Appreciated

I have heard that, and know people that have. I didnt do it on my last run due to my plant herming out in mid flower, so i didnt want to stress her any further. But I have heard that 24-48 hours of darkness before harvest helps everything kind of ripen up. I believe its supposed to make it more resinous somehow.
I'm really not sure, but I have heard about it before. Youd would be fine without doing it though, my crop came out really nice.
I believe it also helps reduce the total cure time you would need to curve the harshness that can come from poor harvesting methods (Mine are something to be desired... ALways learning more on ICMag though!)

I've read that it's best to chop before the lights would come on, and to chop the buds in darkness in the tent.
For example, go to the tent with lights off, cut off a bud to trim, then take it to where your trimming to stop the plant from seeing light while still attached to the roots. I guess starches and/or sugars start to get pulled up from the roots when they receive light, and it makes for a longer cure time.

I chopped mine about two weeks ago, and its just now barely starting to smooth out. Was a bit harsh at first since I unknowingly took my plant out of the grow and into the well lit bathroom for some pictures.

All in all, I probably wouldnt worry about the whole 48 hours darkness thing. I remember it from 10 years ago, but I dont think it's entirely necessary.

I'm still an amateur though, so this is just a side thought all in all. Hope it helps some at least man. :)

for the amount of time and energy going into this grow.. u mite as well just grab a 400-600w ballast and hood.. and get a way better harvest.. you will love the results.

looks good with the side lights and all but it still looks very dark to me.
maybe youll have better results using some 90watt ufo leds

i have two 4x4s and one i have 600 watt led
and in my veg a 600 watt blackstar led with an extra 90 watt led

80th day of Flowering and in almost 48 hours of darkness/no water. I'm going to chop my babies tomorrow :peacock:.

Nice man, looks good. You'd be surprised how much you can lose in moisture, but that looks good to me! Great job for your first grow in my opinion!

I bet your just about hooked now, hard to stop once ya start!

great pics great grow im sure youll be rewarded 1 grow i left a couple in darkness while chopping the others,they all smoked the same and looked the same not very specific someone needs to do a controlled experiment to really tell if it helps one way or another again great grow.

Now you gotta wait for it to dry out!!the hardest part!

Looks great for a first run! I remember my first harvest was some of the best stuff I've smoked, I'm sure you will not be disappointed!
