SOrry for the late update all, Between work and family, I don't have as much spare time as Id like to chill over here. Looks like this might be a weekend hobby from now on, but I will try to get in as much as I can to update and chill.

Stoked to read your journal azsupratt! If you can, please include details about your trellising system!!

Hey White, Ill have to draw up a diagram of how it works as its kinda confusing to explain. Basically I took a thick wire and zig-zagged it from wall to wall in a snake fashion to create an anchor above the plants. Then I took a chain with 2" links and seperated each link. Then I took the fishing thread and looped about 20x 10ft strands through each loop and tied them at the end(loop side) with the open single strands towards the ground. Then simply take the loop and hook it onto the wire anchor and close it off. The anchor was woven between the plants to allow for V trellising for every plant. Here is an idea if you can see, Ill work on getting more detailed images up this weekend.

Wow, azsupratt, for the love of god please feel free to post about your grow... you have our interest! If you're getting 1gpw growing trees with beautiful buds like that then I'm glad you're able to put your talents to full time use! Though please ignore our cries for updates if and when you're feeling overworked... good to keep that proper work/life balance, you know?

How thick were those UC root balls? I thought 5 gallon buckets were plenty for trees (I've done and seen others grow 1-2lb'ers in 3.5 and 5 gallon buckets) but have reason to believe I'm wrong based on what you're showing. You demonstrate so clearly a problem with the UC design. It seemed like they took the basic top fed RDWC design that Heath Robinson had and made a bad change to it ('under current') so they could have their own gimmick to sell. Great photos!

Thanks Farmari, your dead on with the work/life balance. it's a lot harder than I thought to balance two loves, family and the growing but it's so worth it.

The root ball took up the entire 13 gallon buckets so much that they started pushing the black pots out and causing the trees to pop out of the buckets and hang by the roots, one of the reasons I had to harvest 3 weeks early otherwise numbers would have been much higher.( I had these tested and the CBG was 3% which confirms my thoughts of adding 2-3 weeks).

I actually pulled the roots out by severing them below the buckets and just pulling up the air-tubing.

The black spots on the top of the roots is where the bottom of the black buckets sat as they were being pushed up.

Heath's design was far superior to the UC design. My new system is much more advanced that will allow these trees to go the full grow with plenty extra root room and built in failsafes, designed(I tested) to run with pump failure for up to 3 weeks without water change, and the plants will have little to negative effects. Oh and about 5500 cheaper to build haha. UC = Ripoff in my book!

WOW!! Those plants look awesome. I'm interested too about yours nutes and the room setup.:lurk

Thanks Ogfin! Ill post up specs today or this weekend. Promise!

Thanks Otis!

How do you usually grow?

Thanks Mack, I've grown just about every way I can think of aside from aeroponics(never got into it i guess) but i've always had the best luck in designing my owns systems. Everything from a 3-staged(3 levels) gravity fed undercurrent type design utilizing the middle instead of the bottom buckets with no pumps - to my latest design which is a combination of a passive + top fed + undercurrent + inert medium + 4-stage waterfall aeration to go into our new cultivation facility designed for 10ft beasts! Still working on the patent with the senior officers so can't post to much about that until we're all set.

With this grow the only thing I changed to the system was added 4 pumps to speed up circulation and I removed all the damn $22/each air stones and ran open tube(air-stones are the biggest waste of money). The airstones ended up being used for tea then paper weights after that...

From experience i've learned the KISS method will grow the healthiest and largest plants.

The nutrients I used were provided by my boy Corey at Blue Planet nutrients, His simple 3-stage micro, grow, bloom arrangement with some customized Heisenberg tea. Thats it.

It's all about getting the right environment setup and feeding them when they want, not a schedule. I kept no feed schedule on these, I never do, I just feed when the plants tell me their hungry.

ok guys, gotta get to work but ill be on this weekend to start the journal and answer anything else I can.

Peace

Had some time to go through the veg pictures and I'll start posting them all up by the days I could find, lost one of my cards but I found a good few from day 7-23.

Some more info on the system:

24 site undercurrent 13 gallon buckets.
Nutrients: Blue Planet Nutrients 3-part + Tea weekly
CO2 at 1100 ppms with rain system
3 rows of 7 vertical lights. The middle row are 600 watt Gavita Bulbs and both outer rows are a mix of 3x 600 watt gavita's and 4x 400 watt Retro White CMH's for a total of 11000 watts, Was off by 4k when I made the title but oh well.

Im tired as hell so if I missed something just ask.
Sorry if some of the images aren't the best quality but here they are, flowering will follow after I can sort through everything.

is that duct work under the lights sucking hot air out and away from or blowing cool air up on to the bulbs?things are looking killer

The ductwork is connected at each end with a Y pipe and a fan is forcing air in from each side to force air out of each pipe and direct the heat upwards so the plants wouldn't get to hot.

Thanks for the advice Bred, I honestly have never heard of that but I will look into it! I hate wasting any part of the plant and the root ball is the only part i've tossed.

Could you elaborate on rootmasses being dried and turned into "rubs and salves" that "help people' , and how ?....

Please tell me how THC and CBD can be extracted from rootballs of pot plants from the drying process BFM....regardless.....

I totally agree on using ALL available parts of the plants to produce "viable" and "tested" methods for meds that actually help folks , so I`m just wanting the info in the thread for the good of the community if in fact salves and rubs from dried rootballs are truly able to be used medicinally , but now.......

Back to our regularly scheduled program.....Azuspratt....Post at your convenience Bro....thanks for everything up till now.....

Peace....DHF....:ying:......
