Looking good x-man. Just changed the 600's and got them at a little more than 25 bucks a bulb. 85000 lumens and 2100K. Wish I had the money for the Hortolux bulbs but at 25 a pop not so bad.

Here are a few pic's as well. The Goblin queen is doing her thing. The others are out of the humidity dome and starting to build their foundation of roots. The Halo has the white hairs even at this stage.
Others are at week 2 flower and starting to build.

SG

Did you get your soil dialed in before your shut down? Last I remember you weren't happy with where you were at with your conversion to organics, but there was something about your soil not being warm enough, so you brought it inside or something.

Really just wondering what you soil make up is now?

That's been a while.

At first, soil not cooked enough.
Lost 1/3 yield.

2nd run was my best organic run.
130% of normal.

3rd time, I over amended my recycled soil.
Lost 40% of yield.

This time, I cut the over amended soil 50/50 with recycled soil, then amended with a gal of fresh EWC and a shovel full of homemade compost. (per 18 gal tote)

Young veggers look real good so far.
When I flower, I will top dress with EWC, kelp, little alfalfa, and some remaining high-P guano.

I'll figure it out eventually.

Your soil debacle sounds real familiar SG1.

did the same on mine :(

this organic way definitely has a learning curve.

my problem was trying to force feed them.

shoulda just used the LITFA way.

Glad to see you increased, that shows hope. I also think I have been over amending my recycle stuff, I'm going to start some no tills soon and I figure it will get better as it aged.

Glad to see your still working it, not that I ever thought you would keep at it until you've figured it out.

Try and cut the hot soil using something more bland. To add air and lightness to the mix light warrior and coco are the medium I use at a 50/50 ratio. The total is about 70 to 30 mix with the hot. Helps the water drain out of the soil quicker and keeps it more oxygen rich for the microbes and fungi. That's what I like about the light and fluffy. You could probably use something else. (perlite, peat...any others?)
Almost think it is better to feed teas or top off the soil later as the demand increases. Keeps the tp shock and the hot burns away. Add extra nuts after the soil becomes depleated to refresh with the castings and other ingredents. A good time would be week 3 flower to top off.
Compared to having a hot soil that you don't need to feed. JMHO.

I kept my organic soil mix very basic. I was concerned reading posts about all the trouble people were having finishing them off but so far (forget the PM and mites) my ladies have been doing great without any noticeable fall off during the finish. I'm getting the fattest buds I have ever grown. I am going to start experimenting from the simple soil mix. I have two variations based on information I have read and discussed with others. I'm starting to see that there are three main components to the soil mix. You have your base soil mix of peat moss/EWC/compost/aeration material. To that you add 2-3 cups per cubic foot of base soil mix of amendments that need to be broken down via a nutrient cycle period of a minimum of 4 weeks. Finally you have your amendments that are not part of the breakdown of your nutrients. Things like rock dust for bacteria habitat and other things like oyster shell flour, basalt, etc. are slow releasing nutrients. I'm still trying to formulate this all in my mind. It can get complicated fast. But stay simple seems to be working okay for my first organic run. Here's my favorite Mildred.

I don't think my plants suffer when I TP, all my soil cycles at least 4weeks before its moved to the can be used tote, I just think I had the wrong thought process. I was thinking I would recycle with enough amendments, each time loading up the soil so I could use it in a notill system and know three was enough food for the long haul.

I followed a few folks who used teas, and ended up with more problems then it was worth. I think the water only method suits me well. I do plan to top dress once I get the no-till going. I need to understand my worm farm better and produce enough to meet my needs.

If anything... transplanting is like shifting gears... usually a boost in my experience...

overuse of tea leans favor towards bacterial.... fungal suffers... gets out of balance.

I converted over to organics/TLO growing style a number of years ago. There is definately a learning curve involved and it takes a different mindset. After about 2 or 3 grows though you should have it dialed in for your strain. The end product though is so much better in quality and taste. I did not think I could tell the difference between organic grown and sythetics, but it is like night and day. Actually it is much easier than other ways I've grown in the past (ie hydro, sythetic ferts etc...). Pretty much a water only type of grows for most of the cycle, with only a couple of tea feedings during flowering.
