There it is! Looks great tr1ck_. Good to see you came out ahead of your weight goals too!

Can we get some shots of the dried buds?

I bought a bunch of other beans at the same time, so I will just cross my fingers that these give me some good smoke, and then try a diff strain next time :joint:

..So, what's next on the horizon? What are the options? Let's vote! :dance013:

Actually, that's not a bad idea. I might have to employ the same next time around - make up my mind!

To be honest as of right now I am hoping to move soon enough that I won't be able to finish another run. Since I could not do another run, I decided to fill the tent with a bunch of other random seeds I had around.

As of now, I have some strawberries, green onions, pea's, romaine lettuce, spinach, and marigolds in the tent.

I will hopefully be able to take some pictures of the harvest later, but I have been a bit lazy :joint: and my camera is terrible as you could probably tell throughout this diary. I have had a terrible time trying to get nice bud shots in the past.

Love it! I'll stay tuned for the next run, but in the meantime, do your best to pacify us with some porn from within your jars, please. :)

thank tr1ck for giving me some great info...

i have a dr90 and the blockbuster 6inch is WAY too big so i am returning it and going to order the super sun 4inch side vented hood. did you have to buy 4inch flanges for the hood or did it come with them?

you said the hood kept the room 5-6 warmer than ambient? that is great. i have an inline 4inch vortex that i will be using to suck air the the 4x12 phresh, the hood and then out the tent.

did you mount your inline fan on the outside of the tent? any suggestions would be awesome...i cant wait to get everything in order, test the temps and put something real underneath my lights...i will create a journal when i do...this will be my first grow

Hey Paully,

First yes the hood did come with the 4 inch side vents, and yes it did raise the ambient temp of my room about 5-6 degrees by the end of the day if the tent was running all day and the bedroom door was closed.

I have the fan essentially just laying on top of the tent, so if you can envision the exhaust going up and out the back right vent slot, then it does a 180 and aims back for the front left of the tent. I them have some blankets and other stuff just laying across the tubing and the fan on top to help keep the noise down.

The ambient temps were usually about 70 and so the tent would be about 75 after an hour of being on. By the end of the day my bedroom was usually 75 and the tent was now 78-80.

Sorry I can't really get you a picture, but let me know if you need me to try explaining it better

tr1ck,

so you went actively pumping fresh air in the tent? did you just put some duct in the socks on the bottom to keep them open which allow for passive air intake?

i loved your set up and we have similiar tents. the first hood i got was way too big for my tent and i wasnt able to actually run the duct work. i need advise my friend...

i just orderd the super sun reflector

What I do (and what I think tr1ck_ does, because that's where I think I got it), is to take a 4'ish piece of 4" flexible ducting, and run it through one of the empty vent socks, so that about a foot or two is inside the tent, and the rest is outside the tent. You'll want some length on the outside, so you can fiddle with it to bend/kink it in a way that no light will get in.

(I ended up leaving a longer portion inside the tent on mine, and then I used used twist ties to hold it up against one of the tent frames, so it's essentially 1) pointing straight up, to suck some cool air towards the hot air inside the tent, and 2) out of the way.

Paully,

silver_hawaiin got it exactly right, however I have more on the outside and less on the inside than he does. It keeps the passive intake fully open while preventing light leaks. It also allows you to aim the passive intake, so I had one aimed down at the bottom, and the other aimed above the pots but under the canopy

The supersun you ordered will give you plenty of room to run the ducting. I had enough room so that as the plants got to their tallest point, I had the hood, the phresh filter, and all ducting all the way at the very top of my tent without problems.

you guys rock! i cant wait for the the hood and then its on like donkey kong...

tr1ck,

can you explain a little more how you have the fan resting on top of the tent? is it literally just sitting up top? did you try to seal it with anything up there? my hole up to is sooo much bigger than the intake on my fan.

just bought the super sun hood and hung it up...i like it and it fits well in my dr90. but it seems very poorly built compared to the blockbuster 6...

i will make do....i am going to hook up the fan although i think i am going to mount mine inside in an attempt to keep the noise down....but, i will be running it pretty much exactly like yours...you're my inspiration

that is without any clips fans...also i am running is 24hr a day right now and it got up to 90 degrees outside....hot....inside the tent humidity is running around 65..is that too high?

Lookin' good paully, 65 humidity will be great when the plants are young, but that will be too high for late flowering, and they will be more prone to "okra-rot" ;)

What is the humidity in the room the tent is in? If the tent is intaking high humidity air, you won't be able to drop the humidity inside the tent very well. I would look into a dehumidifier inside the room your tent intakes from if still stays up that high after you get further alone.

I also have two more things:

* where did you get your nice little S hooks that you connect your light adjusters to the tent beam with?
* My super sun hood had some leaks when I installed my carbon filter, so it was pulling some unfiltered air into the hood and exhausting it. I fixed this in about 5 minutes with some clear scotch tape. I just put a strip over all of the seams (The worst spot was the little box the power chord connects to the hood at)
