T5 will veg way better seedlings. A MH will make the seedlings taller and lankier with alot more space between nodes.
I say go with the T5. They will actually do the opposite of what you want if you use a MH.
T5 will give you bushy.

Nice score on the new beans OldSchool! Your babies look they are growing up fast too. I agree with everyone else on the lights... T5s stack nodes and are great for early veg. Keep on truckin bro

Thanks Testy! Feelin' blessed. My mentor from back in the day gifted them to me.
I raised the t5's to get a little bit of a bigger footprint. Also going to install 2 more t5's. I'd love some squat little bushes!

T5's should be kept about 4" - 10" away. Anymore and they will stretch towards the light. You want short, squat, tight bushes.
The light needs to be right over the tops without getting too close to burn the leaves.

My Cheese n Chaze and Chemmy Jones seedlings are 16 days old, and I seem to have a wide variety of phenos as they are all growing at slightly different rates. CnC #3 is growing way faster and bushier than the rest, I'm liking her (fingers crossed). The CnC I performed surgery one is still miniscule haha. But it's coming along..

While my roasted Candylands recover..
While my roasted Candylands recover..
So awhile back I got some Candyland (GDP x Platinum Cookies) clones and roasted them with my paranoid pest prevention methods. I used Maxicrop Liquid Seaweed and also Neem Oil spray down. They reacted awfully and first got leaf cupping, and then they curled down and started getting discolored. So, feeling like an idiot for not diluting my mix more, I have the Candylands on the back burner in veg recovering and getting healthy once more.
I got a little less upset about the situation when I got gifted another Candyland clone. Determined to keep this one immaculate besides the SMALL amount of light burn on one of the leaves.
It's got it's on 400w MH and is being LST'd and monitored carefully.

In a good mood... Came home from the city and all of the beans except 2 Tahoe Thunders had popped and are showing coke white tails. Woohooo! New genetics!!!
Any suggestions on these strains? Looking over Sour Lifesaver threads...

I have never worked with those strains, so my only suggestion is TAKE CLONES of everything. You never know when something special might pop up.
My garden is coming down this weekend and I can't start up again for a few weeks. I'll stay tuned here to get my fix. Looking forward to see what you get with these genetics.

I said all three of the Sour Lifesavers popped but only 2 out of 3 have popped so far. I'm hopeful for the last one though, just got a new moist paper towel.
The seedlings that popped all got put into soil today and put under t5 lighting. The seedlings are just in red plastic cups that I drilled drainage holes into with a 3/8" drill bit.
Back to the baffle box today. I've gotta grab some flat black paint, I forgot to get it.

Candyland seems to be responding well to her LST, which I'm happy about. I've been re-tying her down around the edge of the pot, changing positions every 5 hours or so
I'm thinking I might top the Candyland soon, give it a week or so to recover and then flip it by itself under the 400 just for fun because I am really curious to see how these genetics flower out. Unless I find a tray of clones that actually have nice roots. Then I'll stick to the plan and run everything at once. I could also sex my seedlings.
