hi guys,

any new lights to see /test? I remember that dude that came in here with a walking advertisement, anyone remember the LED company he was promoting?

any news of the heliospectra. kinda hope they up there game after the ($700 ?)gro blu put the 7k light to shame.. gadgets can be worthless.. haha

anyways, seeing if anyone has upped the game, kinda sick of starring at my DIY, and would love to see someone pushing the envelope in LED. there is no way I've been using the best tech for a year now and nothing has changed.. need new challenges / new projects/ new ideas

I am testing some flower spectrum, but it takes a while to compare, as I don't have space to run exact copies to test, but I have a 3000k bar with a couple 2700k and a half 2700k / half 3000k bar in action..

honestly I was blown away by the 3000k bar it in flower, in veg I'm not very satisfied with the results though or the power used what I'm seeing.. I guess I have to test more.

Area 51 has their new xgs-190; http://a51led.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65&products_id=181

Hans has an 80 watt version now (also available in 65 watt and a "fanless" model); http://www.bonsaihero.com/ledgrow-led-panel-80-watt.html

Apache Tech AT 600

Advanced all blue Cree veg lights; http://www.advancedledlights.com/3w-led-grow-lights/new-diamond-series-ex-veg-5w-cree-xt-e-leds/

wow, thank you. wow, I'm stunned at the all blue LED.. honestly it's odd as the veg lights colors I was testing, the ones with more blue were my least favorite... that's so odd, as this thing must work, but I was not getting good results with a heavy blue light... so odd as I've yet to figure that out.. I was finding the ones with more red in them to be a better veg light, and that's what I've settled for right now, but I guess I need to get back to testing.. I also noticed this in flower, obviously, a heavy blue light produced crap, complete crap.. kinda wonder if it has to do something with the blue in the white chips vs. an all blue led ??? I just don't get it right now.

but what I find odd is any standard red/blue led works very very well in veg, with the heavy red.. ???

thanks, will look through the links again

wow, that is a pretty awesome unit, not sure the LED there using, but that's in the right direction! heatsinks look not up to par though from what I've been testing, but sure is a step forward to space the LED out,

thanks!

They are using top bin osram and philips chips ... I have one of there lights for my aquarium for about a year the heat-sink is actually very heavy never gets above 100 degrees ... I have talked to nick at bml I really like his lights as they are waterproof ... I would love them in my greenhouse :p

also been looking at the new procyon

Habeeb> I think the blue peak on white leds are too narrow...not covering enough ground in that area of spectrum. I think that's why advanced used a range of blues to hit from 430nm to 480nm. Interesting they hit 430nm so strongly. I just put a similar range in my light...I like the results so far...I think they compliment the narrow blue range in white leds. I do notice a touch less density in flowering...still early observations though.

White leds are actually blue leds with a phosphorous coating, so theoretically the 'blue' part of their spectrum should be wider than a regular blue led , with significant decrease of the light intensity on that range.

I remember hearing that before. Just seems the white leds all have the same peak at 450nm and not much else in the blue range. I haven't looked at much charts lately though could be wrong.

Apaches white leds are a bit of a mystery to me. They seem such a cool white but veg and flower well...????

Ye they're blues coated with phosphorus. The blue peak is the part of light which is not absorbed by phosphorus. Rest is absorbed ioand re-emitted with wvl shifted to green-yellow-red.

My opinion is that if you did a side to side test with one unit all 2K7 and the other one all 6K CCT, there would be (almost) no difference. Provided that the LEDs are same series (ie Cree XT-E, let's say the highest bin of the respective CCT).

I've seen Kind LED pop up on a few online shops lately. Has anyone had any experience with those? They look to be well marketed at least.

Same lights as GrowBlu. Nothing special. Just another cookie cutter light with a different label.

yeah, i would think it should be better...

it not that they don't work.. I'm just not seeing outstanding results I want to see in veg...

I think my next adventure is mixed color and white as red. blue panels work well, as the blue is so efficient...

I just think we have much more to learn with color , shifting, growth pattern, and what really works wonders.. the panel I pull out if i'm not using them all is my 4000k or half 6500k, half 3000k panel... could also be I've been having horrible starts in veg lately, every set comes out complet different..so odd, weird energy here in this rental...hahhahahaha ok i'm using excuses

yap, they use CW chips.. nice to see ya over here.. sick of that crowd yet???

what is 2k7?? do you mean 2k

I've found somewhere around 4000-4500k to seem good veg. I have a half 2700k- half 3000k and it doesn't seem to get good results in veg compared to my other panels what I've been seeing

hahahaha, good to hear from ya dude... lovely plants man!!!

yeah I move quicker then most... still deciding if that's a good thing or a bad thing...

well I already have 3x cdm.. and 8 built led.. and just tested a new led panel.. looks like my next lights are looking to be a veg mogiul cdm, want the new plasma but worried about the microwaves (as I type on a computer with wireless... but I dropped the cellphone) , and the gavita 600 looks tasty.

I was impressed by the veg cdm... very impressed, but I wonder what say the 860 could do over some veg plants as I was only getting 500 PAR that round, and want closer to 800-1000 Par on the veg plants... really my only upgrade could be more PAR per square foot

also been racking the brain over vented or non vented hoods, as I'm getting paranoid over non-replaceable reflectors ( example like the gavita where you can replace the insert..) ..... I want my sealed room back :cry:

well nice of you to stop by... off to window shop for now

Rives> OMG...beautiful garden. The 315 is a mini sun in there. As far as I can tell that's the light setting the low wattage standard right now.

Habeeb> I'm always lurkin...lol. I like keeping up with lighting and leds, that's where most of my interest lies nowadays. It's been all good down yonder..lots of Interesting led grows..steady stream of people sharing how their tech works.

I'm holding out for the cxa 3590. They must have some kinda lockdown right now keeping it strictly for manufacturers. Eventually it will come out to the masses, or something better..

I don't have that up arrow key on my new comp..

well man, glad your around still!

yeah, please show us what you do with it if you get them in.. I wanted to put some in a hood some way or somehow.. kinda beyond me how to setup that up currently, but go for it..

I'm kinda waiting on the successor to the XM-l2, but anything that gets us up to the 200 lpw is good with me.

the 315 is pretty nice right

Habeeb, you know how I feel about LEDs, I think. Like Positivity, most of my interest lies in lighting (well, and the various control components.....). I've been a little reluctant to draw the comparison between LEDs and the CDM lamps because of how much time, energy, money, etc, that I have invested in them, but I haven't seen anything that will touch the results from the 315. I've been running that same Purple Crack clone for over four years now, and these buds are easily double the size of any that I've grown before and they still have about 3 weeks to go. And this is with the "wrong" lamp.

Fucking amazing, I think.

This is what the xml l2 are doing. Pic was day 35 I think..lots more to grow still. Uv running 12hrs is yellowing the closest plants to the fixture at the top of picture. Pretty good..high quality dense nugs. Still room for improvement with penetration, gotta try them with lenses again one day.
